Before he could even pick up on their names, Beck decided he would be able to tolerate the two males, simply because of their shared ability to respect another creature's land -- or creatures, in this case. Hastily finishing the knot to secure a snare to an oak's low-hanging limb, the scrawny feline climbed off his perch with a graceless landing to advance towards the strange scents not too far off.

    Passing through the bramble as if the barricade never existed in the first place, he watched the duo for a nonexistent heartbeat before stepping out into view. The poltergeist gave a quick shake of his grimy pelt, scattering accumulated mud and thorns despite a majority remaining ensnared in his matted fur, and quickly skimmed over the pair with a luminous glare akin to two dying lanterns. They were close, based on how the smaller of the two pressed himself up against the wolf's leg, and said wolf had a prosthetic: a feature his nearsighted eye couldn't help but be drawn to out of curiosity. Beck opened his scarred mouth to mention it, until territorial instinct override childish nature and he instead snarled with razor-sharp teeth bared, "Just what exactly are ya waitin' for?" He had only listened to snippets of their conversation, too focused on setting up his trap to eavesdrop on the rest. Pausing to lick away the toxic chemicals leaking over the burnt remnants of his left cheek, Beck stretched out his neck to warily sniff at the other feline, searching for any identifying scents or traces of other clans.
