History: Her death in her human body was brutal. When trying to swim her classmate and crush Tokoyami to shore during a villain attack, an electric-based quirk user shocked the water she and Toko were swimming in. Thanks to her extreme weakness to electricity, she was electrocuted and was killed on impact. She woke up in this world, with no memories of the fact that she had died. Despite this, she had a desperate fear of any type of electricity, and tried to stay away from it.

After she unlocked her water manipulation, Tsuyu soon grew more unstable mentally, finding herself dissociating more than she would like. She would second-guess herself, wondering why she was even here. After Stryker had tortured her, using mental manipulation to sway her, Tsuyu broke. She chose the lifestyle of a villain over a hero, as she believes everyone she used to trust will betray her in the end anyways. So why couldn't she end their lives herself?
