LAVISH MANSIONS, VINTAGE WINE | 4TH OF JULY PARTY - BASTILLEPAW - 07-04-2018

I'LL BE GOOD, I'LL BE GOOD
Was Bastille ready to light something on fire after dedicating the morning to arranging a party outside of the Observatory? Yes. He was pretty terrible with decorating, for one thing, but he’d also realized he should provide an alcohol table and it set his teeth on edge not to partake in it as he vaguely organized the bottles by type before moving on. He was fine. He didn’t need it, and he did that first, carrying on to non-alcoholics and snacks on the other two tables. The last ones, finishing off his semicircle, held sparklers and random red white and blue accessories he’d found. His meek attempt at decorating had involved throwing a lot of themed confetti on shit and sticking some flags in the ground. Good enough for him, frankly.

As he headed back into the Observatory, he called, ”Yo, we’re hosting a party for the fourth. Everyone will be invited, so play nice.” With a yawn, he headed back outside, adding over his shoulder, ”There’ll be fireworks at the Starpool later.” At least he’d get to blow that up.

It was common knowledge that both Genevieve and Margaery alike adored parties. The pair had grown up watching them evolve, partaking here and there in some of the most fantastic parties to be thrown around the world, well, ever. It helped as well that Genevieve was a twentieth century type of girl. In her early days of existence, when she wasn’t killing and murdering and feeding for sadistic pleasure, she frequented all of the best ‘shindigs’, drinking alcohol that was considered illegal and living the life of liberated woman. Pearls. Feathers. Sequence. The parties in her time were lavish and expensive and certainly nothing to take for granted, and as she gazed upon this attempt at a party, Genevieve found herself so desperately wishing that Bastilleprisoner had gone a little more Gastby-esque.

It was no matter though, she supposed. At least the poor boy hadn’t skimped them all on alcohol.

[color=#b14767]”I’m vastly older than America, why don’t I get my own holiday celebrating my birthday?” She faux pouted, a tail lashing. She helped herself to some bourbon before turning on a heel to grin at Bast. [color=#b14767]”So I get to meet our allies today, sugar? How lovely.” Margaery certainly didn’t care about all of them. Maybe she could convince some unfortunate soul to let her take a sip or two.

Re: LAVISH MANSIONS, VINTAGE WINE | 4TH OF JULY PARTY - Roy Mustang - 07-04-2018

Back in Amestris, there was no holiday for July fourth. There was nothing special about it there, it was a normal, regular day. Roy assumed the same thing about this world, when he woke up this morning, he expected the day to play out as normal. What he wasn't expecting was Bastilleprisoner making an announcement about a party for the fourth, including fireworks. The male rose an invisible eyebrow as he made his way over after Genevieve, gaze locking onto the Astral Seraph. "What's so special about the fourth?" Roy questioned Bastilleprisoner with a flick of his ear, having no idea what the celebration was for. Bastilleprisoner made it sound like this celebration was a regular, common thing- as if anyone should know what it is. Unfortunately, Roy had no knowledge of it- this was an entirely new holiday for the male, and he kept his gaze on Bastille, awaiting an answer. Roy made no comments towards Genevieve's comment regarding 'America', as it was another thing he didn't know of. Maybe it had something to do with the Fourth, he'd just have to wait for the explanation.

Re: LAVISH MANSIONS, VINTAGE WINE | 4TH OF JULY PARTY - GORDON CIPHER. - 07-04-2018

Unlike Margaery and Roy, who questioned the existence of this holiday, Gordon fixated on the fact that Bastille stated that he invited everyone. The little Starstruck Guardian felt her chest tighten at this, suddenly recalling her father lived in The Typhoon. Maybe he wouldn't show up, though. Caesar wasn't the type of person to go to parties like this, and she knew for a fact that he hated alliances in the first place (though The Ascendants weren't allies with The Typhoon. "You-you invited The Typhoon?" Gordon asked as she came over, as if restating the fact that Bast said everyone, regardless if they were allies or not. She was worried, to say the least.

[div style="text-align: justify;"]There was a noticeable shift in the air, as if a living sun was among them, cheering them on and giving a warm feeling. This was just Anakin’s aura- there was a noticeable stir of the leafs in the area as a slight wind picked up. The substance of leafs and dirt formed into a vague lion shape, glowed blue. The lion was in his Jedi robes, very proud of himself and standing among the others.

[align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 530px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; padding: 20px"]Suiteheart announced herself with a hum in greeting before coming to a stop beside Gordon. Her eyes swiveled around the scene, and she was actually a bit impressed with Bastille's attempt at decorating. It wasn't as flashy or big as she might have made it, but it would serve its purpose just as easily as hers would.

"Some big holiday," she explained to Roy, shrugging one shoulder. When she had lived in the city, she had seen them celebrate the fourth of July. It was one of the wildest things she had over experienced in her life. Humans often went feral. But it was fun. "Americans celebrate their independence - or something like that." She knew she had read about it before, but she couldn't quite recall all the intimate details.

Her gaze then settled on Gordon, and she shook her head as if to dismiss the other female's worries. "Don't worry about them. They'll be nice while they're here, or I'll throw 'em the fuck out." Suiteheart wasn't going to tolerate any bullshit other groups gave them tonight.

And the sky was littered
with the corpses of stars,

Anzarel knew about this day and others like it in many a universe over, living as long as he did he'd witnessed many an independence celebratory party - though they all seemed so small when compared to the bigger picture.

but he'd shown up at least, faintly haunting the corners like the one bright spot in the dark simply chilling quietly - the eldest grimm humming quietly to himself while the others milled about - slightly amused by Gen's remark, after all, he was older than the plane they stood on, he didn't dwell on it though, afraid the melancholy of knowing if he made friends here, he'd see them inevitably lost to time.

[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]Church hadn't been to many parties in his recent years. When he was younger, he was the usual kid who would sneak out to go to friend's parties late at night, but as he got older and joined the military, that ended pretty quickly. After that the closest thing he got to partying was getting away from his dumb teammates and doing his own thing. That in itself was pretty rare, though. It was a shame, but it was his reality. Now he was pretty much all but freed from his military responsibilities and he figured why not make use of this time he had before Washington finished working on their way back.

Unlike some of the people there, he knew about the fourth of July. He had grown up on Earth, or this planet, rather, so he knew all about the holiday that celebrated independence. It had been a long time since he celebrated it, though, but any sort of celebration was nice. As he pads up, he surveys the decorations with an unimpressed look on his face, but his attention isn't on them for long. It quickly shifts to all the drinks laid out, though he does hesitate slightly. Can he even drink anymore now that he was a dog? Well that was just fucking great, all these bottles tempting him yet he can't do anything.

He huffs in irritation and sits off to the side, watching everyone else as they mingle. Hopefully there would be some new faces, since apparently other clans or whatever had been invited. Whatever that meant.

Re: LAVISH MANSIONS, VINTAGE WINE | 4TH OF JULY PARTY - arcy - 07-07-2018

Caboose doesn't think he's been to a party before. He could be wrong -- was probably wrong. If Caboose bothered to dig in deep, which he did not, he'd find faint impressions of music and many people and at least one of his sisters pulling him along. In other words, no, Caboose had not been to a party himself before, just casual ones his sisters insisted on bringing him to sometimes. But even so, this particular event is like something fresh, as many are. Just 'cause Caboose doesn't bother relating stuff to things that've happened before. He does that with very, very strange things instead.
Anyways -- does Caboose know about America? Not very well. He doesn't know why this party is being hosted, and nor does he care, because there's so many people and things and it's really really cool!!
... Which is, of course, how Caboose finds himself approaching Church instead of doing anything else. The canine should probably try and interact with other people besides the Collie, but Church was Caboose's best friend!! Everyone should probably count themselves lucky, anyways. Caboose and sparklers would probably be a ... dangerous combination. God knows how he'd end up making some harmless things dangerous but he somehow would. Or he wouldn't even figure out how to light the spaklers and he'd just find somebody else to chatter to. Which probably would've been a good way of making more friends, but Caboose probably considered everyone here, or at least every member of the Ascendants here, a friend already. Even if they barely knew him. Or he barely knew them.
"Church!!" Caboose yips, tail wagging as he flops to the ground next to the Collie, tail wagging. He doesn't know what Church is doing by himself over here, but any concerns he has about it is gone in .. less than a moment, honestly. He wouldn't just let Church sulk over here alone, after all!! Though he most definitely would've yelled at the other if he were talking to somebody else anyways so maybe it's for the better.
Whether or not Church really acknowledges Caboose, however, the Retriever rolls back over and back onto his paws in another moment, tail still wagging fast enough it could probably kill a man and impatiently bouncing on his paws. "There's a lot of people here! Isn't it cool?" Caboose chatters, and he glances vaguely in the direction of the tables. It's just food, which Caboose isn't terribly interested in, and there's some weird sticky-thingys. He distantly wonders what they are but, honestly, Caboose doesn't care. ".. But what're fire..works?" Those don't sound like words that should go together. They sound kind of familiar, though -- like Caboose should know what they are but has definitely forgotten. He doesn't linger on it for long, though, and maybe not even at all. Just long enough to ask, honestly.
