Together we // open+new territory+meeting 6/17 // build a home - jacob w.c. - 06-17-2018

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — Jacob wasn't sure how to process everything that'd happened against the humans. Most of it was straight forward and he'd treated more than a few wounds throughout it all but there was one he couldn't take care of, that was outside his realm of care because the wound was far to deep and large. Pincher was his best friend. Maybe even more than that but none of it mattered if Jacob couldn't save him. He'd done his best but he knew he couldn't give the kind of care Pinch needed when most of his supplies were scattered among their old territory. He'd be leading a few clan members back later this week to brave the treacherous conditions one last time and get whatever was absolutely necessary but that was all. They'd gathered most of it, thankfully, and Jacob didn't care to stay there any longer than necessary, but he'd go back if he needed to. While he wanted to be by Pinch's side, especially after all they'd said to each other, he had to be with his clan right now. He knew his friend would understand. So why did it feel like he was betraying the only one that'd been able to comfort him since his arrival here?

It didn't matter. He needed to focus. As soon as he was sure all the humans were gone and the Typhoon had long since left, he called a meeting together in the biggest building he could find, which appeared to be some sort of log banquet hall. "Everyone, 'm holdin' a meetin'!" the boy called, though his voice and paws shook more than usual, even as he held the cards in front of him. He waited a few moments, watching as most of the clan made their way in. "First, I wanna start with congratulatin' everyone. We've got our new home 'ere in this village, with healthy prey n' no diseases. I know some ah' ya' are still recoverin' from sickness or from injuries but 'm confident we'll all be makin' it outta' this. I'm also gonna' hold a celebration ah' sorts ta' show everyone tha' we're still strong. Ah' course, I'll be invitin'... I'll invite Typhoon since they offered their aid ta' us when we needed it most," his voice broke slightly and he did his best to sound enthusiastic but, as his gaze dropped to his cards, he couldn't help but think it didn't sound genuine. He should be happy. They'd all be well soon. But he'd seen wounds like that only a few times before and he'd only seen one person survive, so that meant that his odds were- no. No he couldn't think about that right now. The smell of smoke intensified and he shook his head a bit, as though that'd make it go away. Why was he cursed with the smell of that smoke? "I'd also like ta' welcome all the new members tha' came in while we were stayin' in Typhoon. I know it was a wild time there n' I know I 'aven't had the chance ta' meet ya'll yet but 'm excited ta' have ya' n' if ya' need anythin', feel free ta' ask."

"Next, 'm demotin' everyone other than Atbash, Izuku, n' Aizawa. This is for a few reasons, such as jus' not seein' ya'll around as much as I'd like or not havin' enough 'elp with different things, but mostly 'm gonna' be settin' up a new rank system in the next week or so that'll be more clear 'bout different positions n' expectations so I'll be rearrangin' most everyone. 'M hopin' ta' be more transparent 'bout what's expected n' more clear with what I need 'elp with." While it wasn't the best thing to talk about right now, it was at least better than trying to think about Typhoon and what was happening there. "I want ya'll ta' find a nice place ta' stay in this village. I'll be puttin' in a new system tha's kinda like weekly tasks but a bit more complicated n' with a rewards system hopefully in the next two weeks or so that'll involves shops n' things so jus' be thinkin' about tha' if you're interested in runnin' anythin'. There'll be a decoratin' contest this week for anyone tha's interested in findin' their new home but I think tha's all I 'ave ta' say. Unless anyone's got questions, this meetin' is dismissed," he concluded.

//summary:
- the sickness/pollution plot is officially over and sb has moved into a village that's further up stream and closer to a large lake.
- we have a celebration event and a contest coming up later this week
- everyone is demoted other than atbash, izuku, and aizawa.
- we'll be having a discussion soon about new traditions since some of them relied on being in caves, which clearly isn't the case anymore. I haven't decided if this'll be an ic or ooc discussion but that should be up soon!
- also, just as an ooc update, my sister's wedding and my graduation stuff is all done so my inactivity notice for this last week is officially lifted!  —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

COLD NOSTALGIA ✧ Natasha — Snowbound — Warrior
Her second meeting in Snowbound, it seemed. She had come at a good time, as the new territory was clear of infected prey, and there was no signs of humans anywhere. She had limped up, at Jacob's call for a meeting and she sat down. "Noted!"

[align=center][div style="max-width: 600px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10pt;"][color=black]It is not long before Melantha arrives at the meeting. Normally, she is among the last to arrive purely do to her solitary nature which naturally puts her at a position to receive information after everyone else. Today, however, the young huntress happens to be skulking around the village in a manner reminiscent of a mob holding torches and pitchforks. It is safe to assume that she is searching for any remaining humans or equally dangerous objects and installations. Already, she has disabled several traps which have been set out to harm wildlife. Melantha is silent as she approaches, chiseled muscles rippling beneath her plain, sandy golden pelt. She takes a seat several moments before Jacob begins his announcements, though she does not appear at ease. Even in large groups, Mel remains suspicious of their new 'home.' Humans never just leave.

Melantha's expression remains impassive during the announcements. Not even the demotions. In fact, she breathes a sigh of relief. Back to normalcy. No more expectations. Granted, the girl does not think she will ever be able to stop being so protective over Jacob. She notices how poorly his mobility has become. He needs more help than ever before, even if he is capable all on his own. Sometimes Melantha thinks that Jacob pretends to be more composed than he actually is. Then again, she is no mind reader. Just a concerned party. "Understood, Boss."

Re: Together we // open+new territory+meeting 6/17 // build a home - guts - 06-17-2018

Aizawa was glad that the humans had gone, but was a bit disgruntled at having to leave the caves. As much as he had disliked them, he had grown used to living in them, with their cold floors and all. Plus this village gave him an eerie feeling. Like Melantha, he knew that humans didn't just up and leave--especially since he had been one himself. Usually they were more resilient than that. They weren't going to leave just because a bunch of animals rained hell on them.

Either way, he supposed he would have to get used to it. The lion pads up after checking out the area, slightly winded. Thanks to this damn illness, he can't move around much for long, so the walk there had been a bit of a hassle. Luckily they were here now and they could settle down. "Understood," he states blankly, watching Jacob closely. He definitely didn't look too well. But he wasn't about to comment on it.

Re: Together we // open+new territory+meeting 6/17 // build a home - arcy - 06-17-2018

Izuku finds it kind of lucky he'd actually been in camp when the meeting was announced. He had a tendency of wandering the territory, even when walking hurt. Seriously, was his leg supposed to be elevated? With broken burns, sure, but what did lightning-burned legs need?? Izuku isn't sure!! He'd been trying to research but it still hurt to read and also Jacob hadn't been around to ask lately. Which might be partly why Izuku, currently curled up on his pillow, is so relieved to hear Jacob's call. Immediately, the Maine Coon jumps to his paws(and nearly yelps at the pain in his leg), and hurries to the meeting. There, the green-furred Maine Coon takes a seat next to Aizawa and allows Jacob a bright grin before the meeting starts.
So they found a new place to stay? That was good, at least! That should help keep other members from getting infected -- he'd already had his paws full with Natasha and Aizawa being sick, so! The Maine Coon's tail subtly wags. A celebration with the Typhoon -- Izuku isn't sure he'll go, but hopefully! A general welcome to the new members -- Jacob doesn't seem the happiest, though, so Izuku can't help but fret. Had something happened? Izuku hadn't been at the Typhoon enough to know.
The next announcement briefly makes Izuku's stomach drop -- demoting everyone? It takes him a long moment for him to pick out his name from those exempt, and when he does, Izuku relaxes just a touch. He's a little shaken by the very brief false alarm, having worried he wasn't good enough, but he was fine. A little unfortunate for everyone else, though. They were reworking the ranks, then. That was neat! ... Would he be expected to do anything new when that happens, though? Izuku would like more specific instructions, yes, but also medicine, as he was finding, was a very demanding job. Especially when you're mostly on your own. And injured. Anyways, find a place to stay in the village? ... Izuku isn't eager to do that. He'd liked being close to his clanmates like they had been in the caves, but the village was more closed off. It was fine, though. Just a little adjusting. Decorating contest -- Izuku might try and participate, he's not sure? Um, a new form of weekly tasks, Izuku hopes that's not too complicated, and shops ... Izuku wasn't about to run a shop, so that wasn't particularly intriguing to him.
"Okay, Jacob!" Izuku chirps, tail curling around his paws. Everything was looking up now, so hopefully things would smooth over soon!!

Re: Together we // open+new territory+meeting 6/17 // build a home - ATBASH CIPHER. - 06-19-2018

ATBASH CIPHER
how could you just walk away and leave me here?
Atbash had been anxiously awaiting the next meeting, and she knew it would most likely happen when they reached their new home, away from the humans. So when Jacob had made the announcement, the Flurryhost was practically already there. She took note of the celebration Jacob had planned, and how he was planning on inviting The Typhoon. You can't hide forever. She told herself as she felt her body tense up. Maybe she could somehow hide behind people at whatever Jacob had planned; surely there would be too many people around, he wouldn't catch a glimpse of her.

Atbash's heart skipped a beat when Jacob announced that he was demoted everybody, though when she finally caught on to the fact that she had been spared, she relaxed and let out a sigh of relief. She knew everybody worked hard for their positions, including herself, but god it would suck if she had been demoted. It'd be embarrassing. "Sorry to those demoted," The demon whispered, unsure if she should even be saying that.

Jacob also announced how he was planning on changing the ranking system a bit, as well as adding another system, possibly with currency. That was honestly quite interesting and Atbash raised her head when Jacob mentioned that. Huh. That would be pretty cool. "Noted!" She chirped, though still feel bad for being so suddenly cheerful after the announcements of her groupmates being demoted. But... surely they'd understand, right?

Oh man, when was the last time Pierce had been late to a meeting? He'd missed one since he joined this place, but never had he walked in while the leader was halfway through with no idea what was going on. That's what he got for staying up all night, he supposed, wandering the territory in order to avoid the stale, awkward air that remained in his, Riddler, and Clementine's home. He'd expected everything to be better when they got back, but he figured it'd take a while for things to go back to normal. They would, eventually, wouldn't they? They had to; he didn't think he'd be able to take this much longer. For now, he just brushed it off as them having to settle down in their new home, something everything was going to have to be working on, anyway. Trying to tune into what Jake had to say, Pierce took a seat at the edge of the crowd, just in time to hear that all but a few high positions demoted. It wasn't unwarranted, that was for sure, but it still stung to think of. He couldn't imagine what he'd have done if he'd lost his previous position in his old clan; it'd been one of the only things that'd kept him going. Maybe none of those high positions would really mind, though, since they were hardly around, anyway. That thought made him feel a little bit better for them. Nodding somewhat absent-mindedly and mostly to himself, the serval called once Jacob was finished speaking, "Noted, Jacob! My condolences to everyone demoted." That really did suck.
