i am the son of space || open, return - pallid-i - 06-11-2018

The child had been gone for so long.. He missed home and more importantly, he missed his father. Even if Harrison still felt shaken up over the fact that Jacob wasn't his actual father, Harrison still loved the male that raised him and made him into the person he was today. He shouldn't turn his back on his family either. They were still the same people that he had grown up with, no matter if they weren't his flesh and blood.

The kitten stayed in the cavern system, afraid of the world beyond as humans and sickness took hold of his home. Though.. he wasn't much of a kitten, was he? He was bigger than he was before, and on his flank, four little bright dots began to form. The black cat didn't think much of it, however. He just assumed it to be normal. Perhaps he should say something, like why he was gone.. Maybe he could say it was because he had been terrified.. Was anyone still here? Were all of his clanmates gone because of the humans?

ATBASH CIPHER
how could you just walk away and leave me here?
Atbash missed Harrison, but if she were honest, she was a little glad that the kitten had disappeared during the whole human fiasco. Harrison might have been hurt or captured or got sick from the infected animals, and Atbash wasn't sure if Jacob - or anybody - would be able to help him if he got too sick. But that didn't mean she missed him any less, even if he had gotten a bit upset over being kidnapped.

"Harrison!" Atbash exclaimed upon seeing Harrison, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at him. Her eyes shone with happiness though, glad to finally have him back. "You're back!" Of course everybody was still here, although some of the Snowbounders had gone off to safety in The Typhoon. Atbash choose to stay because of her worries over her brother, Caesar, and she was glad that Jacob understood and let her stay back in Snowbound. It'd been a rough couple of weeks, but she survived.

Izuku would be lying if he said he weren't concerned about Harrison. He hadn't really been sure where the little kitten had been throughout the whole drama of the humans and all that. Maybe he'd been in the Typhoon? Izuku couldn't be sure. He still wasn't even sure what'd happened to Izuku before he'd returned, anyways. So, he won't lie, when he hears Atbash's cry, Izuku is on his paws in seconds to see for himself. And, sure enough, there he is.
"Harrison!" Izuku echoes, beaming as he's flooded with relief. He's just -- so glad to see him, again. Glad to know Harrison wasn't -- he's not sure, sick or dead or something. Healthy. The stars were new, though -- were those supposed to be there? Izuku wouldn't know. He thinks it's pretty neat, anyways. "Where've you been?" Izuku asks, concern dripping into his voice. He wasn't terribly close to the kitten, but Izuku, like basically everybody else, cared for him anyways. Had Harrison just been hiding away? Honestly, that was a reasonable thing to do, better than some other options, at least.

He turned to look at both Atbash and Izuku, nose twitching. At first, he said nothing, as he struggled to even come up with anything to say in his head. Though after a couple of mintues, he managed. "Hello guys." Harrison smiled awkwardly as he looked at the two and asked with a shaky voice, "What have I missed?"

Atbash frowned at the question and glanced over at Izuku, as if she didn't want to answer Harrison's question. The flurryhost shuffled her paws before she looked back over at Harrison as she answered, "Uh... half the group went to stay in The Typhoon because humans invaded and started poisoning our prey." She started. "There's a ton of prey that was infected by them, and we've had to hunt far into the tundra for prey that's been uninfected."

Izuku's worry just increases the longer Harrison is silent. Was Harrison okay? What'd happened? Why wasn't he replying? Restlessly, the Maine Coon's tail begins sweeping, still peering at the black kitten - feline, with wide eyes. Hearing Harrison's voice comes as a relief, and Izuku's fidgeting visibly eases. Seeing Atbash move out of the corner of his eyes, Izuku meets her glance, before looking at Harrison nervously. Oh dear, right. Right.
"It's ... not great. Everyone is okay, though! " Izuku chirps, tail twitching. Most of everyone, at least -- every active member was okay, but Izuku could never be sure about anybody else. Or -- he did know about quite a few, but, uh, anyways. Right. No use thinking about them. Anyways, even if Atbash didn't want to, he's glad that she answered the question, at least. So, briefly, Izuku grins brightly at the yellow-furred feline, before looking back at Harrison.

His whiskers twitched and he looked down at his paws, sighing. "I suppose this was expected. Never really met humans before until now, really. Scary stuff, huh?" Scary enough to drive his family from their home, that's for sure. He felt bad for being gone.. Maybe he could have offered his father a shoulder to lean on. He wasn't sure how much that would have helped, exactly, but it would have helped nonetheless.
"I'm sorry for being gone.. Things.. Things have been hard for me, and I know it's not an excuse but sometimes people need breaks, y'know..." Wow he sucked, didn't he?

"They're something," Atbash agreed with a frown. She had never met a human before coming to Earth, and her first experience of them was terrifying. She saw what they were capable of, and how much harm they could do. Were all humans like that, though? She hoped not, but it did seem like the majority were. "Hey, it's okay." She tried to reassure Harrison now, giving the other feline a small smile. "Everybody does need a break every now and again. Things went smoothly for the most part, anyway. Everybody's fine."
