Pierce could not cook. He'd baked those burnt cookies that one time, but they had pretty much been his only "successful" attempt at anything heated that was food-related. However, for this week's weekly task, Jacob had requested that he cook up some uninfected prey for the clan, so despite his lack of talent, he was going to do his best to do as he was asked. So, after finding and hunting a few little surviving animals, he'd cleaned them up a bit and cut cubes of the food he'd managed to get. He also had a few vegetables and herbs he'd brought from his home, just to make it a little healthier and add some flavor.
Before him, Pierce had set up a small fire, one lined with stones. Laid across the stones were four sticks that were seemingly intended to be kebabs, which Pierce had read about in one of his cook books that he never used and (incorrectly) assumed would be difficult to mess up. At this point, though, he'd only burnt one section of one, and thanks to some of the spices he'd managed to find and sprinkle upon the food, it was starting to smell pretty good. Glancing up from his little project, the tom called, "Hey! Anyone want, some, uh... kebabs?" "speech" space
Re: REPETITION | open, wt; kebabs ! - ATBASH CIPHER. - 06-11-2018 ATBASH CIPHER how could you just walk away and leave me here?
Atbash had been drawn by the smell that had made its way across camp, and her ears were pricked as she came over to see Pierce. "Oh, I'd love one!" The she-cat chirped. "They look amazing." She recalled Jacob giving this task to Pierce, so it was good that he set it up. bio | female | flurryhost [shp] of snowbound © madi
Re: REPETITION | open, wt; kebabs ! - arcy - 06-11-2018 When Izuku had been human, he'd been able to cook. His mom had done most of it for him, of course -- he was only fourteen, after all. But could he? Yup. His mom wouldn't have him not knowing that much. Now that he was a cat? Absolutely not. Izuku had tried once, and all he did was burn himself. ... That was a long time ago, though, before Izuku knew quite how to control his limbs as smoothly as he can now. Maybe he should try again, later?
In any case, it's the scent of food that brings Izuku to where Pierce is cooking. Despite Izuku's bad eating habits, in which he doesn't eat till he's starving just because he forgets, he's become something of a glutton if there's food immediately available. And whatever Pierce is announcing? Kebabs? Oh, kebabs, he knows those! Well, Kebabs sounded fantastic to Izuku right now, but just about anything would to him at the moment. So it's with a grumbling stomach that Izuku trots over, ignoring the pang of hunger in favor of the fact that there was, you know, food. "Please!!" Izuku chirps, his head feeling just the slightest dizzy. He looks kind of like ... a hopeful puppy, with his tail wagging and a bright look on his face. Despite his hunger, he is patient, and sits back on his haunches, grinning. He doesn't try to compliment Pierce on their scent or anything, somewhat shockingly, but Izuku's too distacted to really consider it. Hopefully he would once he, you know, actually ate. ☀ what was i worth |
