Sleep as you're rocked // open // by the stream - jacob w.c. - 06-09-2018

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — Jacob had been staying in Typhoon up until this point. He'd only come to stay the night now because preparations for chasing out the humans were nearly complete and they'd soon be ready to move back in. He would be thankful to have their old home back but he wasn't naive enough to believe that it'd all be over then. Humans could be persistent and the damage they did already wouldn't leave with them. He knew what needed to be done. They'd have to leave this place entirely but he was hoping it'd only be a matter of somewhere else in the territory, farther from the water and from the infected prey. They'd likely have troubles for some time and the tunnels were overrun with infected creatures. He couldn't risk the safety of his clan by keeping them here. He'd find somewhere else that was suitable but he wasn't sure how or when. He just knew he had to.

So, tonight, he was back in his old room alone. He had grown used to the company of Pincher and Goldie at night after staying with them for so long. Even before that, he'd had Harrison staying with him. And before that, Jersey. Now, though, he was alone. A strange feeling settled in his chest and felt as though it infected every part of his body. A great heaviness that made it hard to breathe and hard to sleep. Still, he closed his eyes and did his best to sleep. He seemed to be able to settle down for a few minutes, his breathing beginning to slow and his body growing more still as he laid there.

Fire raged around him. A dark face with bloodshot eyes snapped at him from the wall of fire. Jacob stumbled backwards, gasping as he felt his legs slip from under him.

"Deniz! Pin-" His voice broke as he woke up only moments later, quickly turning but seeing that the captain was nowhere to be found. Of course. He wasn't staying in Typhoon. His paws were shaking horribly. He'd gotten so used to the other canine's support during these sorts of things and his absence only made Jacob's heart race even faster. He forced himself to his paws and pulled himself from bed, wincing as he pushed his legs forward. He knew he shouldn't be trying to move so soon after waking up but he needed to get some herbs. He'd been keeping them all together ever since the infections started to keep any good hers from getting whatever was wrong with all the others. His entire body felt heavy but he went out into the tunnels, careful to watch for any prey as he made his way towards the medic cavern. —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

ATBASH CIPHER
how could you just walk away and leave me here?
Atbash still felt a little guilty staying back while the others seemed to have gone to The Typhoon, but at least a few NPCs had stayed back as well and were comforting and relaxing her when she started to get antsy and nervous about the well-being of her groupmates. Luckily though, with the plans of scaring the humans off, Jacob was staying back home tonight, which really reassured Atbash about things. Maybe things truly were getting better and she didn't have to feel guilty and worried anymore.

"Jacob?" Atbash called after the husky, having been alarmed by his yelling. The she-cat's eyes were wide as he she popped her head out from her room and trotted over to where Jacob was limping. "Are you okay?" She was referring to why he was yelling, not why he was limping, though the latter was concerning. If she had her powers back, she might have been able to sense that Jacob had a nightmare, but of course, her powers were gone at the moment, so she was sort of lost. Not that she was entirely dependent on her powers, she just missed knowing things. "What happened?"

Aizawa had been among the few who had decided to stay back. He had, however, gone to introduce himself, just in case he changed his mind later on. Besides, it wasn't a bad thing to know the names of his allies, at least. He was grateful they were there for them during these rough times, but it didn't mean he'd have to stay in their camp. He just wasn't ready for such a sudden change again.

He's alarmed by the sudden yelling, too, quickly recognizing it as Jacob's. His mind immediately resorts to it being related to the infected prey or humans roaming about, and he hurries out of his own part of the cavern, eyes darting about before he spots him and Atbash. He doesn't look injured, but the limp is definitely concerning. Though, the husky wasn't known to have the best legs in the first place.

He walks over and remains silent, since the questions had already been asked. Instead, he quietly studies him, trying to see if he was hurt.
