Sentience - open/library cleaning + renovation - Morgan - 06-05-2018

Morgan had only been in the Tanglewood library once before, back when Beck had played some movies on an old TV. It had been quite some time since then, and the samoyed felt a strange sense of longing while stepping through the ancient doors. There was something very unique about the shelves of long-unopened tomes which lined the building's inner walls. Only the abandoned bunkers were as quiet, and those were nowhere near as pleasant to look at or be in. Along with the rotting, old smell that permeated the library, a rare air of peace filled it just as much.

Morgan felt - knew, even - that the knowledge hidden within the library was the key to the future of Tanglewood. Morgan knew that he was going to help pave the way for that future, and that this task was going to be the first step.

The enthusiastic dog let out a loud howl, alerting other Tanglers to assist him. As a Regent, he hoped that others would be willing to help at his call. If nothing else, he could at least start on his own.

The samoyed intended to tackle the dusty floors first. He stepped into the center of the room and pulled the water out from his bracers, leaving crushed gemstones inside the bracers' containers. Shaping the liquid into one long stream, Morgan threw the water into a corner, moving it around and around the room in a spiral to catch some dust. It would not be perfect, but it was the best the dog could do for the time being. Once satisfied, he sent the water flying out the door, letting it land in a grass patch outside. He took a deep breath in as he stepped out as well, pulling the water back up out of the ground for further use.

There's really just one thing that we have in common
NONE OF US WILL BE MISSED

Whisper remembers the comfort of books before. Remembers the joys of reading in all 5 different languages she has learned to read from- most she still stuttered to speak, concatenates of russian sounding lame on her tongue, the heavy vowels of latin. The mere pronounciation of Japanese were all fleeting, and with age the pup wasn't getting any better at it. Language was the way people spoke, the most common way to express yourself truthfully in ways her body has been trained to avoid, her tongue would give way and illuminate how tense or how relaxed she was. Even her silence was something overlooked usually in tandem for keeping her body posture and emotion from her face. Being a kid made things looser, made her less weary with all of it at least. It also meant that the instincts that Whisper had never had- added soul craving hunger that made her maw salivate slightly just at the reshi in the air, made each inhale infused with the promise of a meal that the puppy could not catch.

She needed a distraction, so she explored. Finding Morgan in the library cleaning was completle coincidance. The other's excited call falling on deaf ears to a child that has grown used to sleeping to the sound of screaming. Even now decades away from her the memory still cling because they are the most vivid ones she have. In comparison to the many years she has dealt hidden away like a untapped power, whispering in the ears of her other's her woes until they drove each other wild and warped. It took a great focus to keep herself from warping back into that child that cried in the corner of conscious, the voice of reason in a mind full of monsters chanting softly 'remember remember who you were. Remember being alone will kill you. Remember you can never go back'

Whisper remembers Morgan from second hand wounds and brief flashes of Adrenalin. The said can be said for a few of the faces within the clan that she had come to meet through a different pair of eyes. A body that is no longer her own but still theirs. Still connected to and still feeling. It's easy to push through the information Argus had cataloged, Ice wielder, water and ice were both a dangerous weapon that the other knew how to use, and now a clan mate she did not feel the same fear that Argus did when pressed on each side against him. Against this clan she did not feel afraid, Just brief passing anxiousness and loneliness that clung to her when she lost her focus and forgot to breathe through it.

When she stepped into the library it was with subdued eyes. Bright bubbly grin tilted in a neutral expression that was neither put off into a frown nor the bubbling exuberance that Whisper was used to giving. For now she just... aches and instead of focusing on that she will drag her attention away from the throbbing in her heart, in her stomach, and forget about playing a role she had been given and just be herself. Need some help there mister? Her voice was calm and her manner of speaking was poised and polite, tense four blue eyes blinking at the armored tangler as she watched him clean for a moment longer waiting for a response.

But Heed this lesson well,
When the weak court death, They find it -

War had read many books in many languages over his eons of existing - a lesson taught to the sons and daughters of lucifer, to learn was to gain and all knowledge no matter how small or insignificant was worthwhile learning, for one could never know what might be in need of use.

War often saw the logic in that - and despite what many would say of war deities, he was no simple brute capable of only feats of strength for war's assets were cunning, guile and tactics, mere physical strength could only take one so far where all the learning and cunning in the world could carry you unending.

it was these thoughts that had him trailing after Whisper - erstwhile little sister, it kindled a warmth in him to know even here he had siblings even if they were not of the four, even if he could never be of the four again, but still it made him smile idly - so there the canid beast trailed after the much smaller pup as the sudden older brother figure was now want to do, as they both rounded into the library and spied Morgan renovating? hm.

Fenrisulfr blinked as Whisper meandered over asking if the samoyed needed help - idly glancing between what the run down and badly in need of renovating library looked like and idly wandering what books were salvageable and what they were primarily focused on or in.

his ears flickered back to morgan and whisper though as he moved to join the two with a nod indicating his own help was here - given the earlier howl, no doubt the samoyed had been calling for helping hands - paws - so to speak.

Re: Sentience - open/library cleaning + renovation - Nayru - 06-07-2018

[color=#6b7e99]✦ ✦ ✦
Nayru had once been in possession of a fine variety of books, having been taught to read at a young age by her father in some attempt to instill knowledge that he personally could not into her. Within Tanglewood, she only had the medicinal encyclopedias that Beck had bestowed upon her all those ages ago when he first gave her the title of Nurse though, and while they had initially proved to be interesting, she had read through all of them so many times that she could practically recite certain lines from memory. It was time for some new reading material, that much was known, and Nayru supposed it was by pure lucky chance that Morgan and the others had begun to revive the library. Certainly there were entire worlds detailed by expert authors waiting to be explored within its walls and it was no surprise that the sawbone appeared to assist with the cleaning herself. Perhaps when they were done for the day, she could snag a few titles that interested her.

[b][color=#6b7e99]"Tell me what I should do," Nayru said quietly, cerulean-colored eyes transfixed by the sights of the slightly run-down library. Once they were done with it, she bore no doubt that it would be absolutely remarkable. [color=#6b7e99]"I don't have any fancy powers but I can certainly scrub things... or organize books! I'm good at organizing things!" She chimed excitedly next, briefly thinking back to her own well-organized home with its shelves lined with labeled herbs and its research notebooks in neat stacks all pertaining to different subjects (though most of them did indeed center around Chad).

Speaking of the tiny alligator, he had accompanied her as usual, not upon her head but relaxing on the ground just in front of Nayru, his too-aware amber gaze also drinking in the sight of the decrepit library. While he wouldn't be much of a help at all, his chipper hisses indicated that he was at least willing to try. Not for his sake or anything like that but rather, for Nayru, who he could tell had already been endeared by the dusty space.

Re: Sentience - open/library cleaning + renovation - Morgan - 06-09-2018

Morgan let out a sigh of relief when so many of his comrades showed up in a row. Their eagerness was the sweetest surprise of all; such enthusiasm for improving the town was a beautiful thing to the cream dog. He sized the Tanglers up one at a time, thinking hard to come up with tasks for each of them.

The first to come in - Whisper - was one who the samoyed had only seen in a recent meeting. Something about the young one's presence seemed oddly familiar to the canine, but he brushed off the feeling to give her a job. "Yes. Clean out anything that's not supposed to be here." Besides the dust he was removing, surely some little plants and animals were hidden in the nooks and crannies of the library. "Give Iota help if you have time, too. I will give her a job soon."

The dog turned toward Fenrisulfr next, admiring the beast for a moment. "Hmm..." He shifted his weight onto his haunches as he sat back, raising his head to see his peer's bright eyes. "Fenrisulfr... Please light the candles." He motioned toward the various lanterns set around the room; as far as he knew, nobody else was able to conjure fire for them. As he turned his head, his eyes widened, and he snapped back to stare at the fiery Regent. "Almost forgot - you should also teach me to understand books!" His smile was practically visible even behind his mask, his voice carrying an air of joy as he thought about having private lessons with his friend.

Thankfully, Nayru's quick suggestion made it easy to figure out her job. "Organize books, yes! That sounds very helpful, Nayru." With how old the library was, the dog was sure that plenty of the books were out of order or destroyed. The young Sawbone would thus be of great importance when it came to giving the library a cleaner image. The canine continued, "Nayru, clean off the dust too." While he was able to get the majority of it removed with just his water, some extra finesse on her end would make the room even cleaner.

Finally, Iota was to receive her task, and an important one at that. Knowing that she had some skill with plants, Morgan said, "Iota, trim and clean up the big tree!" The library's main space was interrupted by a large, old oak tree - a complete eyesore. Shaping the branches and beautifying the tree would change it from a nuisance into an asset. "Help Whisper when you are done."

Happy as could be, the dog got up, nodded, and headed for the stairs up to the second floor. He let his water trail behind him as a sphere, ready to pick up more dust before long.

But Heed this lesson well,
When the weak court death, They find it -

Fenris hummed watching and nodding to Nayru and Iota as they joined them before his attention swivelled back to Morgan as the icy canine asked his polite request and War nodded his acquiesce with a slight smile - he got up and turned to do just that when the samoyed called over to him again, to which he nodded "Of course, I'd be glad to help teach you" a time consuming task but the beast genuinely didn't mind it,

his eyes flicked to the lanterns as he moved to each in turn and breathed a small curling flame across each wick as the lanterns slowly lit and beckoned a light ambience onto the slow renovations of the library - hm, well he had heat and fire to spare, might as well use it.

Re: Sentience - open/library cleaning + renovation - Morgan - 06-27-2018

Now on the second floor, the samoyed threw his ball of water around and around to pick up even more dust. Since most of the floor was smaller than the first, it was much quicker to go through. After getting the floor cleaned up, he panted from mild fatigue. Making water zoom around so much was rather taxing for Morgan, so he decided to take a quick break near a balcony.

Though at first the dog simply scanned the first floor from the balcony, he soon found himself staring at Fenrisulfr, who was hard at work. Morgan felt something warm inside, though he could not quite place it. He was unsure of whether the fires were what caused the feeling, but he tried to brush it off to the best of his ability. Finally taking his eyes off the beast, he walked over to a bookshelf to start dusting it. A comfortable warmth radiated off of his face, invisible under his thick fluffy fur.

(finally necro'd this...)
