THE DEVIL SINGS FOR ME - Project K - 11-25-2024

How long had it been since he had been drunk? Gods, it felt like forever since the warm dizziness clawed at his body. First his widow had found him in the next life, then he had been able to actually enjoy alcohol without the immediate taste of pure fire causing him to spit it back out for fear of combustion. It was still unfortunate what had happened to him, but his wounds were very little when he considered what he was gifted; a second chance with Jelloshots, his wife who he had wronged so, so long ago. The Knight Captain had slipped out of the gala, out from underneath the ever-careful eyes of his Praetorian Guard detail yet ensuring the one he had wanted to see him was able to follow behind him. The ancient mercenary made his way to one of the covered gazebos that his Knights had constructed the day prior.

The gold faced wolf sat patiently, swaying gently to the tune he could still hear from within the great hall. Maybe things were looking up for him and the Horde as a whole? Maybe the suffering they had all endured actually meant something? The winter was coming, and it felt bitter, Project could feel it in his bones, the way he ached each morning. He had hope that maybe, with his old love returning, the mornings wouldn't be as frigid, and the nights would be less long.

And follow she had. The soft, almost silent, foot falls of the healer at heart were the only sound she made. A warm buzz in her body from the drinks the due had at the party before leaving. She kept her pace with ease, despite the feeling. She had a glass of wine every night. She was used to this. The woman paused under the gazebo, eyes locked on the gentle swaying of her husband, or former husband? Would they have to wed again? She was unsure of the details on that.

After a pause, she moved closer to him. Settling at his side. Always on his right. She let out a soft sigh as her eyes lifted to the sky above. Afterall, she had always preferred the quiet life. The stars are lovely tonight. She mused before letting her gaze fall again. Eyes turning back to him once more. The woman offered a soft giggle and let her eyes flick over him. You seem.. Happier now. The words were pleased in nature.
