Back to the start // open+survival baskets - jacob w.c. - 06-05-2018

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — There were some people that chose to stay here, despite the danger. Jacob understood why but that didn't make him less concerned. Snowbound wasn't as safe as it used to be and he didn't want anyone choosing to stay here permanently get sick. So, he decided to take matters into his own paws. He couldn't just sit around worrying and hope for the best while he was in a nice, safe beach hut and his clanmates continued to face the threat of humans and feral animals. So, he'd put together baskets full of supplies. He'd made lots of food that he knew was sanitary, blankets and traps to put outside their caves, and made sure to include some basic medical supplies along with written instructions about how to use them. He intended to give it to everyone who would help with clearing out the territory, including any Typhoon members that chose to do so. He wasn't sure how many there'd be so he just tried to make as many as he could in the given time frame. He'd stayed up well into the early hours of the morning finishing it all up but he was pretty sure they'd all turned out alright. Whether or not he was with them, all his members would be safe and that was all that mattered to him. He'd never seen anything like this before but he'd had several weeks to process and research it now and he was certain he'd narrowed down which items would help the most.

Now, he had dragged them into Snowbound's caves, which were guarded by many prey traps at this point, and settled down. "If your helpin' with clearin' out the territory or you're choosin' ta' stay in Snowbound through all ah' this, come on over 'ere. These baskets 'ave some pretty important things n' instructions. I wanna' go over some basic first aid if ya' get bit or hurt by one ah' the feral animals we've been dealin' with n' I wanna' show ya'll how ta' make some traps. If anyone else has somethin' they wanna' add or any questions, please ask 'em while everyone's 'ere," he called. He paused a moment, pulling out a basket for himself and allowing his paws to run over the items to be sure everything was there. "Also, if ya' got any ideas for stoppin' the humans n' prey n' all tha' permanently, please share 'em. I think 'm gonna' ask Pinch 'bout havin' a meetin' with all our high positions ta' work out a proper plan but I wanna' make sure we're at least properly defendin' ourselves."  —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

[align=center][div style="max-width: 600px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10pt;"][color=black]Melantha hates this. She hates the humans and how they always ruin everything. Maybe not always on purpose, but their mere presence generally means bad things will happen. And she hates change. She hates that just as she finally felt as if she belonged in Snowbound, she is forced to move somewhere new. There a lot of things occurring which fills the young huntress with resentment, but she does her best to ignore it in favor of doing what is right for her clan. Mel refuses to risk Jacob being disappointed in her. Well, that what she tells herself. In truth, she is filled with a strong obligation to serve and protect Snowbound, somewhat against her will.

Chiseled muscles ripple beneath a sleek pelt as the solitary predator approaches the Chief. The hunger is beginning to show in the way her ribs protrude ever so slightly. Mel is a successful huntress time and time again, even in the face of the food shortage, but she gives most of her kills to the young, old, and disabled. She can survive longer without sustenance than they can. Pallid olive eyes sweep over the area, observing all the baskets and the supplies with subdued interest. "I can help out," she states. "I will be making trips back here to scout out the humans' movement and assist any newcomers unaware of all the changes." And to slaughter the feral bastards who dare to lay a claw on her clanmates. But Mel does not say this. Probably best not to let her more...murderous intentions show and instead display the honorable hero that people need to see. Being responsible is such a killjoy.

Re: Back to the start // open+survival baskets - guts - 06-06-2018

It was weird to have the narrative switched. When he was a human, Aizawa didn't give much thought to the land they were stealing from it's inhabitants. He was always more occupied with other things, like training his students and saving civilians when need be. Now, he was in the others' shoes. He had to watch as humans took things from him and his clan-mates and he couldn't do anything. He could only try and clear out what they had caused.

The lion pads up to the pair, nodding his thanks to Jacob. He had shown him how to set down traps before, so he didn't quite need the lesson. He probably still had them lying around, even. Glancing over at Melantha, a hint of worry gnawed at him when he noticed her thin frame. It was somewhat ironic, considering at one point he had been that way. It seemed it wouldn't be long before he returned to it if things continued this way.

Re: Back to the start // open+survival baskets - ATBASH CIPHER. - 06-06-2018

ATBASH CIPHER
how could you just walk away and leave me here?
Atbash was one of the ones that was going to stay back in Snowbound while the rest of the group stayed with The Typhoon. She hoped Jacob understood why, and no matter how many times it would seem okay and understandable why she stayed back, she couldn't help but feel guilty and upset at wanting to. She wasn't the only one staying, of course, but still... Should she want to go and face her fears? But I'm not sure if I could. There were just too many things to face there: her past, her brother, and risk being attacked and possibly murdered by him. Or she could be overthinking things, that was a possibility, too. Hell, she didn't even know if he saw her that day he delivered the invite.

"I can do anything that's needed to do while I stay here, Jacob," Atbash offered as she came over. At least while she stayed here, she could do things around that made her seem at least somewhat helpful. She'd feel bad if she couldn't do anything while she was here.
