the lion had never considered a pet before. after all, he had no idea what would suit him. he needed something flashy and to his taste. so, when he found the little peacock chick all alone, he was tempted to eat it. it was drab. brown and speckled. little and useless. yet, he decided to ignore it and walk past.

yet, the thing followed him. the entire patrol and to his house it followed. the brute turned once outside his home and narrowed his eyes. crouching to look at the tiny thing. unsure of what to do now. should he eat it? he pondered this until it snuggled up to him. nestling into his paws and he sighed. he was not thrilled with the ugly thing, but.. he guessed he could keep it for now.
