Silence.

That was the only hint that he was there. His very form causing the few birds that found themselves lost here to fall silent. The leaders son moved silently along their volcanic homeland. The cracking of the dry ground under him making the three birds fly away screeching in panic. The adorned male stopped to watch them. The struggling feline in his maw protesting as he dropped them.

His eyes flicked down and he lurched forward. Sinking his fangs in and draining the life from the feline. Eventually the light faded from its eyes and the feeble struggles and pleas fell silent. The lion let go and licked his lips. Tail swishing slightly as he looked up at the fading light of the sun. Soon it would be night and he could stop hiding in what shadows passed him by.

Sitting in the shadows of the odd ledge, he would simply watch the sunset in silence.

Re: the dragon lives ;; intro - Valerius - 04-07-2023

The cries of flustered birds reached Valerius' rounded ears. They were a rarity, often only seen when migrating or when the occasional corpse was left out to rot. Something, somewhere, had to be going on. Between the caws and cries of another, he felt inclined to check out what was going on. Thus, the leader looked out and over towards the ledge with his monochrome hues. Mortalwars had lurched forward and made his final moves in that time, inviting in the silence momentarily after.

As his son stared out at the sunset, the large feline padded forward to join him. He slyly leaned down and laid down next to him casually. Valerius allowed the quietness prevail between them for a few seconds, only to look over at the corpse and Mortalwars with a furrowed browline. "Any plans with them?" he roughly questioned. Mortalwars would know that his father never let anything go to waste within the Descendants of the Departed, including the feline before them.

Whether or not they had plans, the leader looked away and stared off into the distance. His gaze lingered over the horizon, eyeing the sun as it started to fade into oblivion.
