Loneliness is just a word we say『 Atticus 』 - Lucedon - 02-21-2023 The marshes had made her paws quite icky, but she had to admit, she enjoyed every bit of it. As her paws would relish the brown mud that would make her feel like she used to. Then after rolling in the mud for a while she got up. The now brown covered feline would walk her way over to a lake where she would smile before diving in. She had to go find a home soon. She couldnt just keep procrastinating like she used to do. The sun wouldnt wait for her. So as she finished making her nice little bathe she got up, and decided it was time. One by one she would dig through small holes, interrupting oddly large rabbits or finding creepy holes that her mind couldnt decide on whether to enter or not to enter. But soon enough she found the perfect place. She stuck her head inside before taking a moment to hesitate. What if this den was just like the rest of them? What if it led to somewhere.. abnormal? Yet the thoughts only made her go deeper into the where she thought was abandoned home. Though her hope breaks like crystal shards into a million pieces when she sees someone sleeping. That means its taken. But maybe she can just get around, so as she tries walking around, her clumsiness gets the best of her in the dim lighting and she steps on a loose twig, causing a loud gasp to escape her jaws just after the noise of a loud snap. The door creaked open to his family's cabin. Atticus, unaware and sound asleep, let out a loud unconscious snort in response. His snores echoed throughout the disorganized home and bounced off it's wooden walls, certainly reaching anyone who approached. The introvert preferred to be left alone, hence his tendency to sleep through events or uninvolve himself in Tanglewood's affairs.
Amid his slumber, a crack sounded out. The feline shot up. Jagged ears pointed up to the sky and sunflowered-colored optics opened wide. His gaze locked onto the doorway. Not with the stranger, but with the doorframe. The breaking stick's sound reminded him of when tragedy struck and killed his mother, smothered under the wooden doorframe during the Earth's vicious rumble. For a moment, he remained still and just stared. Memories rushed through his mind as his expression grew sour by the minute. Projecting his frustration, the tabby turned his attention to Lucedon finally. "Who are you?" he snapped. "And why the fuck are you in my house?" He kicked the blankets away from his backside and onto the floor, exposing unsheathed claws to the other. She smelled foreign. The domestic had every reason to appear hostile. Atticus, despite his harsh reaction, was a simple man with good intentions. He would warm up eventually, just like he did with everyone else. Re: Loneliness is just a word we say『 Atticus 』 - Lucedon - 02-21-2023 Ouch. Why so harsh? Though she wouldnt say the words outloud. He really didnt seem like he wanted her in here, so she just backed up a little bit, awkwardly realizing midway she was going deeper in the house rather than facing the exit. "I was looking for somewhere to stay and I accidentally woke you-" she started. It was quite simple in her eyes, though she too would've snapped in quite a harsh way if someone also just... stormed into her house. That is, when she finds one. "I'll just get out of here if you dont mind-" she quickly spoke, her words fumbling over each other as she started sticking to the wall as if she was taped while smoothly yet slowly heading towards the exit. Well this is awkward. Before she was part of Tanglewood she'd never have to really worry about interrupting another's house as she always went somewhere new or stayed for one night or just even a nap at times. Never enough to get caught. But now. It was different. A drop of sweat started to trickle down the back of her neck as she looked straight into the eyes of the other feline, shame burning her pelt as her tail instinctively tucked under her legs, though she forced them to come back out. She couldn't look too weak. That wouldnt be good either. Re: Loneliness is just a word we say『 Atticus 』 - Atticus Roux - 02-24-2023 ATTICUS ROUX -
His ears pinned back at her response. She was looking for a place to stay? Surely, it wasn't here, was it? She should have made a swift exit as soon as she realized he was sleeping here, but she decided to dig herself in a deeper hole instead. Atticus, clearly displeased, couldn't help but feel like he wanted to bundle back up in his blankets and fall back asleep. Even so, his nap was ruined. Perhaps, instead, he could assist.
With a sigh, he shook his head. "No, no, you're fine," the feline mumbled lowly. A sheathed paw ran over his face before coming down to the floor and pushing himself onto his feet. Atticus shook out his fur from his jagged ears to the tip of his long tail in an attempt to loosen up, but he remained somewhat tense in the moment. Someone had just broken into his house. Reasonably, he had to be at least a bit pissed. Now alert yellow eyes looked back at her. He watched as she pressed against the wall and let her tail fall between her legs, shame filling his heart as she did so. Rather than letting her continue on her trek, he let out a short call. "Listen," he started off with. "I can help you find a place to stay if you at least knock next time." And, if he ignored that knock, respecting his boundaries. The grumpy, yet soft, introvert preferred to be left alone. Atticus trailed forward. He hesitated growing close and instead kept his distance. "What's your name?" the feline asked curiously. Re: Loneliness is just a word we say『 Atticus 』 - Lucedon - 02-24-2023 A sigh of relief slipped from her mouth as her eyes closed for a moment. Thank god she wasnt it too much trouble, because with how it started she thought she'd be leaving with a few cuts to think about. He then caught her attention with a sharp 'Listen' which made her head tilt upwards to listen easier. Knock. Well- she hadnt thought there was anyone inside, which was a reason she hadnt locked, but she didnt want to talk back in her situation right now. "Yes sir, Im sorry bout all this-" she cut herself off with an awkward chuckle hoping to break the tense air, though it only seemed to choke her more while she did so. "My name's Lucedon" she answers in a full sentence. It seems to give her better luck when she just speaks formally instead of spewing out words that get the point across yet offend the person she's speaking to. She can do that to people who get her sarcasm better "What's yours?" she barely manages to ask the question before quickly zipping her mouth so shut it takes effort to open once again. She should not have said that. Especially since she was first accidentally invading another's house and then asking for their name? She knew she'd blow up if that happened. Her paws shuffled with a quick way to revert it. "Actually you dont need to tell me yours- I shouldnt even be here" she states. And its true. What was she doing here again? Oh yes, she was looking for a home. Well definitely the worst place to pick thats for sure. Already taken and she couldnt even tell. Re: Loneliness is just a word we say『 Atticus 』 - Atticus Roux - 03-06-2023 ATTICUS ROUX - She was sorry and that was enough. Atticus was not going to pester her any longer. Instead, he listened carefully for her name and dipped his head as she introduced herself. 'Lucedon.' What an interesting name. He had never heard such a name before, letting it register in his head easily. Surely the fact that she barged it made it easier too.
With her introduction cleared up, she asked for his name. It was one he delivered easily and with pride. "Atticus," he responded. "Atticus Roux." The name resonated close to his heart. It resembled the family he had, whether they were gone or close by. He dearly wished more were around, but so be it. The family around him did not need to be by blood anyways, leaving him to sigh after his introduction. Perhaps he should move on from the thought. He shook his head as she tried to leave. While he was not going to press her to stay, the domestic feline was not keen on having her leave either. Whatever she decided on was good with him. Atticus liked to nap, but he also liked to talk with others... sometimes. "You're fine," came his reassuring tone. "But we can go outside if you desire? My place isn't exactly the tidiest." For a moment, he looked around. There was dust on many of the wooden surfaces. Maybe he should clean... He walked over to the door and pressed against it's frame, opening it slightly for her. "My previous offer of finding you a place also still stands." Atticus was better at navigating the territory than she was... at least he thought so. |
