a single egg laying among the sands. the sun hitting it as the baby inside moved. she moved and twitched slightly. she wanted room. she was cramped and she was tired of it. so, she moved and pushed her nose up. pushing and pushing. until it finally gave way and out her tiny nose poked. taking in the first breath of fresh air she had ever taken. the slight chill exciting for the little gecko.

she squirmed and wiggled her form free of the shell. laying there in the sun. eyes wide with wonder as she looked about the lands she could see. everything was so big. then again, she was tiny. so very tiny. that would change one day, but for now this was her life.

despite the urge to move, the girl was worn out from her hatching. so, she stayed there a bit longer. hopefully nothing bad came her way.
