EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES // O, HUGHES MEMORIAL - Roy Mustang - 06-03-2018
Roy can't do it. He can't bury his best friend, he can't do it for a second time. Just the thought of having to bury Hughes himself got his paws to shake. He already had to watch his friend get buried once, he never thought he would have to bury Hughes himself. Just thinking about it makes him feel so nauseous that he barely manages to keep his lunch in his stomach. Though, Roy knew that he can't allow Hughes body to rot, whether he likes it or not he has to do something with it. Which is why Roy decided to cremate Hughes. Choosing this option didn't suddenly make this task become a breeze for the Flame Alchemist, no. While cremating him was far better than burying, it was still hard for him to do. It's not everyday you have to turn your best friend to ash. Roy made sure he burned Hughes corpse as humane as possible. He made sure the flames weren't out of control, and tried his best to make it least noticeable as possible. Once the task was completed, Roy put Hughes ashes into an urn. This urn was navy blue and gold, Roy brought it along with him as he cremated Hughes body. Once all the ashes were inside the urn, Roy closed it shut. Eyes dry from tears, Roy made sure the room smelled pleasant, as the smell of a burning corpse generally isn't pleasant. He wouldn't want people to be distracted by the smell when he gathers them around for Hughes memorial. After that, the bobcat carefully grabbed the urn, and made his way to the middle of the observatory. Setting the urn on the ground, the bobcat set down behind it. There was one thing Roy grabbed before he cremated Hughes- Hughes pendant. The pendant was carefully crafted, it was silver and it had the Flamel on it- a snake draped on a cross. It also had detached wings and a crown above it. It was a symbol that attributed to Nicolas Flamel, a famous alchemist, as the cross appeared on Flamel's grave and symbolized his research on the Philosopher's Stone. Who would have imagined that Maes Hughes, who Roy wouldn't even call an Alchemist, had a pendant that was related to alchemy, and the Philosopher Stone- which is related to immortality. Roy grabbed the pendant for one particular reason- to wrap it around Hughes urn. Hughes never got a chance to wear it, and now it can be with him forever. "Everyone gather around for Maes Hughes memorial!" The melanistic bobcat called out for all to hear, ears pinning back to his skull as he awaited for members to gather around. Luna had felt pity for Roy when Maes' body had been discovered, after he had attempted to mess around with those strange circles for the second time. She had kept an eye on the bobcat from a distance, so the male wouldn't become more upset if someone attempted to comfort him.
The ivory-serval had approached at Roy's sudden call, a small bundle of flowers clamped tightly in her jaws. She would walk up to the urn and place the flowers down before she stepped back. "May he find peace in the afterlife." space

She did not have flowers like the winged serval, but she did hold onto a picture. It was a gift she had been meaning to give to Maes, but she had never found the time. Now, she knew she would never get the chance. A frown tugged at her lips as she stepped forward, sitting the picture against his urn. Two figures were captured in the photograph - Maes and Roy, both grinning in an candid moment inside the Observatory. She had given Roy a matching one when she spoke with the bobcat after he had discovered Maes' body. The Ecliptic Admiral moved then to stand beside Roy, pressing herself gently into his side in order to offer some comfort. "His urn's beautiful, Roy," she murmured, now finding it within herself to move her eyes to look upon him. She wasn't sure if her heart could take all that emotion in one moment. "May he find peace," Suiteheart echoed Lunafreya, now moving baby blue eyes to look upon Roy. Flash images passed through her mind. She remembered spin the bottle with Maes, Roy, Margaery, and Lunafreya. She recalled those hilarious and embarrassing moments with ease. Friends became a little closer that night, she knew with bittersweet amusement. She remembered laughing as Maes gave Roy a fireman's hat, calling him the Ascendants own fireman. He'd placed it on Roy's head himself, if she were thinking correctly. She smiled sadly, fighting back tears. God, she was going to miss Maes a lot. Re: EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES // O, HUGHES MEMORIAL - radeken - 06-04-2018 “[color=black]Cool vase.” Radeken didn’t really want to be here, but she made herself do it anyway. Spite had almost prevebted her from showing up, and now spite would make her stick through it. Bet I could’ve helped him. It wasn’t thought in a regretful sense and no kind of shame simmered in the back of her mind at the thought. It was just a selfish observation on her behalf. She sniffed. The air smelled nice, but she was more curious about whether there were any snacks. Did memorials have snacks? Nobody seemed to be eating...Radeken cleared her throat. “[color=black]I’m sorry for your loss, Roy. For the Ascendants’ loss.” Because that was the right thing to say right now, wasn’t it? “[color=black]I’m sure he’s, um, having a grand old time. Wherever he is.” She added in a low, uncertain voice. This was rough to navigate. Re: EMPTY CHAIRS AT EMPTY TABLES // O, HUGHES MEMORIAL - GORDON CIPHER. - 06-04-2018 Another death so soon after she joined. Gordon was entirely sure how she felt about this, but she wasn't going to be rude and not attend, even if she didn't know Huge at all. The she-cat made her way over, carrying a little flower, and was following a couple of NPCs since she still didn't know the place very well. "Ah, s-sorry for your loss," Gordon squeaked out, waddling over to Roy and gently sat the flower beside him.
