'The scent.'

This time it led somewhere. Romulus had been pacing for days now, wondering where the other had went. Byriath was in distress when they had last saw the remains of her, as had he, despite a calm demeanor. One last time though, he swallowed his pride and let his paws lead the way as he followed her leftover scent. What was left was slowly dissolving into the bellowing winds and dark underbrush, causing a hopeless sigh to echo into the empty space in front of his muzzle. His nose merely upturned, looking for something. Anything. Whatever there may be.

Something... Something though... It stunk of something unfamiliar, yet dear to Romulus. The scent twirled and twisted with a familiar being and he meandered closer, cautious of any danger to come. His chest lowered to the floor. Paws guided the large lion through the grass of the Coalition with ease, keeping to the shadows for cover. As he grew near, periwinkle hues dilated. Narrowed eyes surveyed the area, but landed on a silhouette in the distance.

'Zuriela...'

Another silhouette.

'... and a cub?'

The kingpin wearily rose from his position and tracked forward. With his breath heavy and voice hoarse, he called out. "Zuriela? Where have you been?" He came to a stop at her side, attempting to bend down and look at the smaller cub before him. A curious expression donned his features. "And where is this little fellow from?"
