feeling the roar of the crowd behind closed doors, I pressed as far as I could with chains around my paws, around my neck. They're coming, they're coming, I'm going to die, I'm going-

Aegis jerked awake from an impromptu nap while waiting on their dusty tapestries to dry (and to whack the dust off). Stiffly standing, the leopard stalked over to their tools, picked the correct one, and began gently cleaning the historic clothes. They hadn't had nightmares fairly recently, as it had been at least half a year since they escaped and found themselves here. Arrick, they supposed, has a nice ring to it. Adjusting their wings, they made a small breeze to throw the remaining particles of waste off the tapestries. Softly, they moved each individual one back to their storage, making sure no creases or tears happen.

Then, mood curdling, Aegis grabbed their dull weapons (not as many as they would like, they sourly noticed), and swiftly found themself in front of their grindstone. Pressing the first weapon (an axe from celtic time, exact age unclear, but still so much history), they began to deftly sharpen it. Their eyes angry, posture showing no want to speak, as they kept their little pile of weapons to sharpen out of paws reach.

They hated when they dreamed of the gladiator arena they were trapped in. It was the only world they knew for so long, they have such hazy and broken memories of their life before being kidnapped. They don't remember their siblings names, who their parents are, or even where they used to live. They just...remember their siblings colors. Blurs of color, reminding them that despite everything, they were glad none of them were there.

They knew they would have to eventually meet their siblings again...but, for now, Aegis was happy to clean their junk and heal from their captivity in peace.
