[retro to the storm]

the young fox had a task and she was going to do it. it was better for her. she was not going to let her losses keep her down. shaking her head, she would set to work on the garden. pulling out dead plants and weeds. making a pile out of the way. taking her time until it was empty of the long forgotten plants.

then she was digging small holes evenly. row after row before planting all sorts of purple and gold flowers. some small hedges lining the edges. she had the plants read for when she was done digging. they were not in the earth yet, but they would be soon.

ROMULUS MALUS - KINGPIN - COTC
Romulus had the power to manipulate the area to his liking, but that would be no fun and retract his entire point for doing this: community. The lion wanted everyone to play a part in rebuilding the Hall of Kings, even the littlest members of the group. Giving Zuriela the ability to do so just happened to be one of those quests along the way. After all, everyone could plant flowers and pull some weeds (besides maybe a limbless and mouthless being, but even they could probably find a way, hopefully).

The lion had been observing progress when he noticed Zuriela's progress. A smile lit up across his features and he jogged over in satisfaction. He, biased due to his own color scheme, was pleased by her choices in shades of flowers. "You have a knack for design, young one," the kingpin rumbled.

His eyes meandered down the crevices she had been digging. Maybe he could offer some help. "Let me assist." A paw gestured towards the flowers nearby and then back to the holes she had already dug, signaling for her to start placement. "I'll dig, it'll go faster, and you plant. Unless you have a plan in mind...?" His head craned, questioning her intent. He did not want to intrude before asking about her idea.

the girl jumped up slightly at the arrival of rom. eyes bright for once as she turned to see him. catching the motion of his paw and pausing. thank you. i was basing the colors off what mom told me kings and queens of old times wore. just old stories and it seemed fitting. the little fox admits shyly.

she pondered his question. i'd like the help. i was going for a gold edge with purple center. she admits as she moved to grab the golden flower closest and placed it carefully in the hole. pushing the dirt back into place. like old robes for a king. it will look good wrapping the hall.

she hoped.
