pain ricocheted through the old beast, old injuries aching like they were new. his breath spasmed in his lungs, straining against the large rock he was pushing towards the border of the enclave, back towards where he'd been making a rock outcropping for his own needs, and as a memorial to those that he'd already lost. he didn't want to lose anyone else, so as much as it was a memorial, it was also a warding stone, if it could be anything other than a symbol of grief.

groaning as his muscles strained and trembled, using every ounce of strength that he had to push it back towards home, heaving it up and pushing until he had it in a suitable place.  huffing and puffing as he struggled to catch his breath, gazing up the tall trunks of the territory that he called home, letting his eyes close as the wind coursed through branches and over his pelt, cooling the fervor that he'd gotten himself into. "It's good weather for once ... though a storm is on the horizon.", he would murmur to nobody in particular.
