THE BACKGROUND.

CHILDHOOD/FAMILY LIFE -
cindershout grew up as a kit with his mother rainpelt, in a rag-tag group of rogues. his life was fine until he was injured in a fire and collapse of the den he lived in, causing severe burn scars to the young tom; his name was changed to burntkit by his mother who was disgusted with the drastic change in appearance and health, leaving him to practically be raised by the medically trained member of the group, leading to an interest in medical aid as he grew and aged. his fondest memories were of his kithood, before the accident, spent playing with his brother ticktail. his brother never truly turned his back on him until further down the line, leaving him to turn away from his own family and considering them all deceased.

HISTORY -
at the age of a late apprentice, cindershout left his mother's group of rogues after his guardian was murdered in a fight between his birth group and another over the right to hunt in a prey bountiful stretch of land. in this battle, his own brother turned on him when he failed to protect their mother from a killing blow from one of the other group, accusing him of treason and intention to murder the mother who didn't love him. caught in a battle with his brother, he disowned his family in the aftermath of the battle, departing to lick his wounds on his own, leaving with the group that had won the brawl. there, despite his scarring and injuries, cindershout quickly became known as a brutal handler of justice within it's ranks, often leaving on his own to settle disputes or threaten other groups with action. a few years of spreading his name came at the cost of his group being destroyed in a harsh battle between groups of rogues, afraid of the burnt tom who was never one to not fight anyone who got in his way.

he was left to wander on his own, licking his wounds once again, before a change of heart occured when he'd come across a lone mother and her kits, sticking around to raise the youths with her, if only to give the kits a chance at what he'd never had. over this time, he began to share the medical knowledge he'd learned as a kit himself, teaching the kits how to hunt and fight before taking his leave when they were the age of apprentices, guiding the mother and her brood to a rogue band that he knew would look after them. he wandered far and wide, beginning to try and make amends for the brutality of his youth, often taking in various and many cats of all ages, mentoring or parenting them as the situation called for and slowly leaving his blood-soaked life behind. in his old age, he has begun to seek a sense of peace and calm, having caught wind of a large gathering of cats, and has set out to join the just forming clans, bringing with him a kitten. his brother caught up with him some moons ago, delivering to him his daughter with the hopes of his changed brother looking after the tiny scrap of fur who was orphaned by her mother, and with a group of vengeance seekers on ticktail's trail after the tom had betrayed them. cindershout is soon to arrive in the clan's presence with tinykit in tow, his most beloved individual, and someone who he would give anything for.

EDUCATION -
cindershout is a mediocrely trained medical aid, trained in his childhood by his guardian, and a severely experienced warrior, survival being his teacher in his many years. his fondest memories include the youngsters that he's looked out for and trained on his own, even with the fact that he had never found love or had children of his own - those he raised were enough for him, and he is happy to retire with his niece in his care most recently.

REGRETS & SECRETS -
cinder often recalls his past, going through the painful memories of loss and all but torturing himself with 'what if's' and what he could have done differently. there are cats he regrets laying to their final resting place, friends he's lost over the years, even the fact that his old band is hunting for him. he doesn't regret everything, no, some of his actions were well deserved and he knows it, even if the handling of justice was rather brutal. if he had to do it again, nothing would stop him, no, nothing could stop him. he may have mellowed out with age, but the hunger for blood is always just under the surface and hidden behind warm smiles and tough words. his biggest secret would have to be that he truly used to be a villain amongst many, and he wishes that his apprentices and foster children will never learn this of his past. he merely wishes now for the innocent to stay innocent.

THE PERSONALITY.

SKILLS & VIRTUES -
cinder is best known nowadays by the members of the clans for his warmth and fatherly guidance, his refusal to back down and lack of hesitance to make his opinion known. respect comes with proving one's worth, and he isn't afraid to show anyone why they should give him a bit of respect. his skills best lie in combat or more mildly in the field of medicine, easily seen in most moments where it's necessary to show. his virtues lay in protecting his clan at any cost, the ends justify the means after all. he does not believe that everyone is correct, and is more analytic, taking his time to study the situation before offering his opinion. too many sharp words in the wrong places led to too many fights in the past, something he wants to avoid now. he is known to be a capable mediator by now, if only because of his years being the one mediated.

FLAWS, FEARS & WEAKNESSES -
cinder is admittedly easy to anger, and struggles at times to keep the lid on his temper, he is quick to argue until reminded to take a step back and cool off. he is known to be selfish at the rarest of times, though he will often comment to himself mentally on the others around him, often letting his sharp tongue and snark loose on those he believes are the rightful recipients of it. he is judgmental, possessive of his belongings, spiteful and at times impatient. his weaknesses are known to be his love for his niece and any of his foster children, and his greatest fear is to have his greatest secret revealed to his loved ones, he fears their reactions to the knowledge more than anything. when emotional, it is no secret that cinder is illogical, often relying on the first reaction to get by until in a cooler headspace, something he is working on improving. he is known to be brash and reckless at times, as if believing he was a young tom again.

cin's favorite food has to be any reptilian food that he's been given, mostly because he prefers to take the least pick so that the more vulnerable can obtain better and fatty foods. he also favors rabbit meat, if only for the reward after the chase, though he's a bit old for that now. his least favorite foods have to be birds and squirrels, he detests coughing up feather-balls and the taste of squirrel has always turned his stomach. his favorite locations have to be areas around water with plenty of sun, he likes to sunbathe and feel the warmth all the way down to his bones, and his least have to be areas of high-content water, quickly followed by open spaces, he instinctively fears ambush from his younger days. his favorite cats to be around would have to be his niece, his fostered children and former apprentices as well as any youngsters that need a guarding eye. his favorite hobby or pastime would have to be lingering around the medicine den, often offering a helping paw, or sticking around the nurse to amuse the kits, too old to care about sharp kitten claws. some queens have teased him in the past about being a queen under all of his scars and fur, he's seen around the nursery constantly when his niece is brought to the clan.

DREAMS, GOALS & AMBITIONS -
most of cinder's dreams and goals have been accomplished by now, leaving the old fighter to be content with his life. his greatest dream now is to raise his niece well and give her as much love as he can before starclan comes to collect him. his greatest ambition is currently to help his group find a medically trained individual, or to hold the title himself until he has trained an apprentice to a suitable level of experience. after that, his happiest dream would to be able to retire when peace comes for his adopted home; until then he can be found sticking his nose into everyone's business and making others' problems his own.
