Antpaw bounced on his paws, he was full of energy and restless. Whitedove had been busy with keeping the overflowing camp in order, and so it left Ant too much time on his paws. He usually found himself asking (read: begging) other warriors to let him leave camp to hunt or join a patrol. The snowshoe didn't begrudge his mentor figure, he understood considering with so many cats it would be double, even triple, the workload than the old territory they left. Deciding to see if any older feline would let him go on a hunting patrol (maybe even squeak out a solo hunt), the male stretched, jumped to his paws and caught the eye of Crowface. He usually avoided the tom, but he was desperate to leave the crowded camp and do something useful. Bounding over, a blinding smile on his maw, Antpaw began quickly speaking, "Hey, uh, I know you aren't my mentor, but I was hoping you could give me permission to go hunting?" The apprentice could've stopped there, but he kept going on about how he didn't want to bother Whitedove, how he wanted to help out more, and everything else he just thought about before walking over. He didn't noticed the mounting agitation and coiling tension coming from the warrior. Re: simmering heat | small attack ; open - SchizophrenicVoid - 06-16-2022 IF I WASN'T A NARCISSIST Crowface had just been minding his own business when one of the frequent annoyances known as 'apprentices' came bumbling up to him, babbling on and on seemingly without the braincells to notice that there were more important things going on recently than his own issues. His fur slowly bristling up in irrational anger, he tried to just wait out the little things speech, yet it never seemed to end. Finally snapped, he growled lowly and swatted at the kid, unaware that his claws had been out due to his agitation and accidentally snagging the other cat's muzzle. He blinked in momentary bemusement before his aggravation forced aside any concern he might have felt. "Buzz off, pest," he grumbled, turning away and striding off before anyone could realise that he had just attacked an apprentice for no reason. The older's paw flashed out to smack the overly hyper apprentice, claw catching across the bridge of his nose. Antpaw stood dazed, his mind not registering what happened, yet he watched it happen. His own paw slowly lifted and brushed against his torn skin, absently noting that Crowface has booked it, as he spared the blood on his paw a glance. Blue eyes could only make out a smear of red on the top of his muzzle as he faintly squeaked, "Oh." With a swing of his head, he took in the camp, noticing how most didn't even turn to check, or look, what was happening. Mind in overdrive, he mewed lowly in distress, he didn't know how to make the small cut stop bleeding, and he couldn't find anyone in immediate sight who knew how to patch it up. In truth, Canary was far from a socialite. She wanted nothing more than to be left alone, which is why she had stayed off to the side whilst Antpaw eagerly looked for someone to accompany them out of camp. If he couldn’t find her, then he couldn’t ask. In her book, that was as good as anything. She could do as she pleased, which right now consisted of haphazardly dragging a pregnant belly across the ground. Her eyes were narrowed and she felt exhaustion beginning to overcome her. She was about to lay down and rest when she heard a sharp mew. The femme marched over in a hurry, a scowl on her face as she did so. Her eyes glanced over the younger cat, and then softened. “What happened?” she asked in a much kinder tone than normal Re: simmering heat | small attack ; open - teef - 06-23-2022 I'M HANGING OUT ... ❖
Antpaw was a ball of energy, something that the elderly tom had been avoiding as much as he could as of late, often sticking to the nursery to look after his niece, spending his time with the young kit, preferring the relative peace of the nursery to the tension of camp. Today, he'd been drawn out of the nursery by a warrior complaining of stomach pains and another of a bee sting, leading him to be weaving between warriors and checking on them, asking about rumored pains and complaints. The most common complaints were that there were too many cats in one area, and that so many of them were tired of it. To those responses, he could only laugh and say that they'd figure something out.
The sound of a distressed mewl caught his attention, the elderly tom turning his head, looking for the source of the mewl. Exhaling softly as he weaved his way through cats, nodding to canarysong in greeting as he approached, "Let me take a look", he murmured gently to Antpaw, peering at his muzzle at the sight and scent of blood, "I'll put some cobwebs on it.", he would murmur shortly after his small investigation. "antpaw," his voice was relieved once he saw the apprentice, and he quickened his pace, trotting over and pausing just short of cindershout, giving the tom his space to help. "are you alright? I heard what happened," his words were filled with genuine concern as he looked the smaller feline over. |
