All the construction work building outposts and late-night planning discussions with Olalla left the blight sleepy, and ve’d completely forgotten to oversee one of the outposts’ construction this morning. On sleepy days like these, it was always satisfying to shapeshift into a reptile and soak up the sunlight.

But sleeping the day wasn’t a luxury afforded to leaders. Even Pitt ardents who dripped in excess from stolen wealth couldn’t. After all, holding onto power meant actively keeping your claws against throats and water flowing into mouths. Prosperity would fall to ruin if entropy had its way, so, naturally, Vale was awoken by paws climbing the steps to the throne.

Vale blinked open vis red eyes. Ah, so it’d taken the Pittians several hours to find vis napping spot. Ve stretched vis jaw and yawned. Lifting vis diamond-shaped head off vis coiled body, the ardent surveyed the Pittians who’d come to ver with ambition shining in their bright eyes.
