the beast was not exactly small. nor was he very tame. he was not quite feral but not quite sentient. the male was a strange beast both n his behavior and his looks. eight tentacles pulled him along the ocean floor until he reached the shore. slowly sticking his head up out of the water to look about. beady eyes scanning for food or gods only knew what else.

the male suddenly lurched forward and onto the shore. lucky for him he could breathe in or out of the water. mutations are wonderful. not that he knew it was a mutation. he just thought it was normal. the beast stopped on the shore a moment. raising up on his tentacles to look about.

after a moment, he would drag his massive frame into a tide pool. there he would snag a single lonely crab that he crunched on. eating it in a single swallow. not exactly filling.
