I CAN SMELL YOUR SCENT FOR MILES
Tick. Tick. Tick.

Time went by without any semblance. Without any movement for the reptilian beast. Moving along and leaving him behind. Since he had gotten to the Pitt some years ago he had secluded himself. The world had forgotten him and in this he had also forgotten had pain. But it was also waiting for him to come back. To leave his slumber behind. Long claws flexed against the ground, the smell of ash and rot swirling through large nostrils that flared suddenly with a large gust of air. A tail slid across the ground, black scales glittering against the light and shadows. Slowly heated eyes opened up, sharp like a whirling fire.

He had long since made a nest within a massive hollowed out tree within the burned section of the jungle. It smelled like peace, like quiet. But now it was alive with the movements of a behemoth. The raptor moved, pressing forearms against the ground to allow his figure to stretch and shake. Jaws snapped once and then again. His eyes narrowed for a moment before he moved his large frame from his nest, tongue sliding out to slither along thick teeth. "....things have changed." He already knew from his sleep haze and he snorted a bit as he walked away from his home to go and hunt. He needed food. He needed sustenance. As he traveled along the desert sand as he looked up at the sky.

Spotting buzzards circling the reptilian creature tilted his head to the side, a rumbling sound lifting in his throat before he crouched. Bracing his legs against the ground he forced strength and jumped into the air. Jaws snapped over the body of a buzzard and he landed upon the ground with a muted thunderous sound. Sand splayed in multiple directions as his jaws snapped against the flesh and bones in his maw. But it was not enough.

Any creature with such a remarkable height difference upon the child intimidated him. He was a mere puppy still, only three months of age. As such, he had yet to see what exactly there was out there to observe. Dragons were new to him still even, despite having trudged here from distant lands of the unknown. Now there was a raptor in his home land, and who knew how the young boy would react to their presence?

We would soon find out.

The child of rot would trudge around in the sand, barreling himself over it repeatedly as he played with a small rock he had found. Leaping on it all about, he caught it and then let out tips of joy and fun. His skeletal tail wagged and his ears perked up, the entire body of the small creature shifting its weight around for optimal entertainment. Somehow something so small brought the young lab so much joy.

Then, he heard the noises.

His head cocked in the direction of the sound, listening intently before deciding to usher himself over. Here, he would stumble upon Serpentine feasting. And, for reasons unknown to himself, the purple hued creature thought it was the best thing ever!

Quickly, he scrambled over and offered a few sniffs to the reptilian beast, and then, with no warning, Arfur attempted to climb up upon the raptor’s back.
