oh, she's a wonder | joiner - rhosmari - 03-28-2022

It had been some time since she had fallen asleep at the bottom of the boat. Feeling the gentle rocking back and forth of the small vessel she had commandeered from some rowdy rough housing fools. It had not been that hard to trick them. Not like they knew who she was anyway, just another riftraft that they could boss around. Most of them came by boat, visited, did what they pleased and then left. She wanted out of the life that was given to her and so she had formed a plan during one such event and struck. The drunken fools would wake up with one such boat missing. Oh well, they would just have to cram to make room in what they had left. Dirty and looking rather rough the young feline slowly woke with the feeling of hunger gnawing at her stomach.

Eyes squinted at the harsh sunlight and she lifted her alabaster paw to rub at her face for a moment. Dirt and grim were normal, natural. She had lived on the streets for most her life so she never thought about it. The black ribbon around her neck fluttered with the breeze and she sighed as she climbed her way to the helm of her small vessel. "I thought I would be somewhere by now...." Her voice, sweet and light held an edge of agitation. Most likely due to her grumbling stomach. With a sigh she grabbed up the small loaf of bread she had been nibbling on and ate the rest of that before trying to rest again.

It was well after nightfall when her boat scrapped against land and startled her awake. Her head jolted up and she was quick to move to the edge of the boat. Her eyes widened as she realize she was on land and someplace foreign. Yet it didn't stop her from jumping out and testing her legs. Wobbly but still functioning she gazed around at the place and her short tail twitched with her curiosity. It was growing but the small woman knew she had to be cautious. Never knew if one place was just like the other. Shaking her head a little she would begin to make hee way forward, sniffing at this and that before her stomach gave a sudden snarl. "Ugh...that's so embarrassing."

What luck it was that Laertes was out far past his bedtime, scrolling along the coast. The visage of a landlocked boat, one which hadn't been there before struck a chord in Laertes. A shiver ran down his spine, ruffling feathers along the way. He wondered if an unsavory group of characters had come in the middle of the night to wreck havoc on the Coalition. The thought festered as Laertes approached, on guard, feathers fluffed.
Then he saw a single figure beside the boat. A lookout, his mind would tell him. With a growl the large feline spoke "What are you doing here in the Coalition's territory this late?" a dark look set in his usually kind eyes.

now, the pup should not have been awake at this time of night. but, ever sense inferno showed her that tear thing, she had been on the shore collecting stones and shells. she had just found a shell that looked like it had a little blue heart on it. she was going to take it home to laertes for a gift when she spotted the other.

so, she made her way over. excited to see him, but that changed with his tone. she paused behind him and peered out at the stranger. was something wrong? the pup braced herself to run for help, just in case.

"Wha...?" The young woman stood there almost like a deer caught in the headlights. She blinked her eyes before lifting a paw to rub at her dirty and unkempt figure. Shifting her gaze away she noticed the child as well and a frown pulled at her muzzle. Lucky her that she had to meet people looking like the way she did. Absolutely filthy and she probably smelled. At least she wasn't too banged up. Hopefully her stomach wouldn't get the best of her and make a scene with growling. "What are you on about?" Coalition? She didn't even know what that was. The frown still covered her muzzle as she stepped further away from the boat that she had gotten here on. It took her a moment to realize that he was none too friendly and thus she wanted to put herself somewhere that she could be able to turn and run.

"I just washed up here. I...was sailin to find an escape. I don't know what name you are referring to." Maybe if she tried to introduce herself it would ease things a bit. But that would be like inviting more questions that she had to answer and with that she sighed before glancing back to her boat.

It was pretty normal for Saturn to stroll the territory late at night and tonight seemed to be none the wiser. Their dreams were often visited by nightmares, ones that would wake the snow leopard up in a panic and leave their mind reeling for hours after. The only thing that truly helped was walking amongst the stars to clear their stormy mind.
Tonight seemed to be a night of excitement for the Coalition, a foreign scent traversing close to the feline and drawing them towards the shoreline where voices could be heard. Faded paws carried the oddly colored leopard towards the small group that had gathered, Saturn stopping close to Laertes, picking up the tail end of the conversation that was being had. "The Coalition of The Condemned, it's the name of the group that owns the territory you have currently  washed up on," they explained in response to the stranger's confusion. Unseeing orbs flicked towards the stranger, ears pushed forward as curiosity snaked through their veins.
