the clanging, the soft windchimes of bells. what a beautiful sound! one she had come to recognise as one of her favourites.
she had made a friend a while ago, a traveller friend whom she had close relations with. having been close friend since aphra's departure one day inferno had chosen to stay in the coalition whilst the tóther had chosen to explore. and now, she was a vendor. always returning to bring trinkets galore that delighted the child.
with the chiming of the bells and the soft footfalls of her friend the tall silhouette of the feline appeared at the horizon. inferno rushed out to greet her, wrapping her in a hug that nearly made her drop everyhting on her back. "gods- inferno!" she chided softly, a small laugh emerging from within.
already distracted by everything that she had brought inferno waved it off with a sheepish smile and a chuckle. then, something really fluttery drew her eye. "honey, what's this?" she gestured to a bright blue feather attatched to a string, something sharp and a piece of red jewel. honey turned her head to look. "oh, this is an earring. would you like it? i acquired it in a bazaar in a faraway place." inferno nodded eagerly, she had no clue what the hell an earring was but it looked really pretty. "i have some shiny rocks in my house you might like, wait a second!" turned and went into her home to dig them up. she had found them near the grotto when she was harvesting flowers to decorate the nursery, and they might provide a good trade for the earring.
"OW!" the sharp hiss as skin flew and her ear flicked repeatedly. honey had just stabbed through the flesh of her ear and now the earring was attached, the stone and the feather coming to a rest just below her jaw. her ear couldn't stop twitching but the tried to admire it the best she could.
"my job here is done, i see. if you see more things you can make into earrings, you can do it!" said honey with a sweet grin, bopping inferno's forehead and turning away.
