GIFT FROM THE HEAVENS [o] - Owlie - 05-22-2018

He watched them. He was always watching them. Maybe it helped remind him that he loved them and that he was here. He had already paid Sekai a visit. Darth Vader’s master had returned and he was coming for his kids.

Obi-wan and Yoda has both warned him about meddling in the affairs of mortals. “Next world must take care of itself,” or something. He couldn’t use the divine intervention card that often. He shouldn’t interact in mortal affairs like war or fate-

But he just wanted to see his boy.

His presence was forwarned by the overcast sky and night air, the snow suddenly picking up off the ground and moving in a fluid motion. It swirled until in formed the vague shape a lion. He was large, fur in monotone growling blue with his mane being the darkest.

The spirit moved slowly, walking through the camp as if he was inspecting the living quarters. Seeing if it was up to his standards.
Wasn’t Valentin cold here? Would the boy not freeze to death?
Lions were not built for this temperature.

No, no... Too far, too much. Let him decide when it’s too cold. Seemingly satisfied, the specter stopped in front of Valemon’a cabin. He glanced at it, then walked through the closed door.

He couldn’t tell if it was warmer inside. Anakin inspected in here, too. The cups of hot chocolate, either empty or lukewarm.
He shouldn’t be drinking this.
It was warm, but it didn’t fit into his diet. Did he have any meat anywhere? He bit his lip.

Naive....

Anakin gave a nod to the cups, as they began to move with the utmost desperate quiet, moving into a neat stack to be cleaned and dealt with later.

He turned now, staring at the sleeping back of his boy. He noted his brown cape the boy wore, and it made him smile. He’d never grow into it, but it would always be there. He moved slowly, noting the growing, patchy mane, and it nearly made him tear up. He’s growing up without you. Who will be there to groom it for him? Grooming was how lions bonded and connected it kept their names free of knots.

Anakin stepped back, his paw moving, and leaving something on the table near the bed. A plushie. It was a new falcon toy. A little bigger, able to fit in his jaws, and sporting an accessory: a stitched emblem under the left wing. A blue isosceles triangle. Anakin’s symbol.
He left a card.

Could Valemon read? Hope so.

Take care of it.
                          - A

He moved, ghosting a loving lick on Valemon’s forehead, the vanished into thin air, the snow flakes dropping to the floor.

VALEMON
male — 9 months — snowbound — member — tags — rped by Autumnleaf
That night, Valemon had the best dream since arriving in Snowbound. He was in a field of flowers, stretching farther than he could see in every direction. All of his family were there, including Anakin, Luke, Padme, and Sekai. In his dream, he realized that his sister seemed different somehow... happier. Along with her, they ran among the flowers, which were unlike any Val had ever seen before. Upon being touched, some of their color came off onto the individual, almost as if they were covered in paint. He felt as if they’d been there for hours, just talking and playing, but the sun never once moved in the sky. It was warm, the birds were chirping...

Then, the cub stirred, having felt some sort of presence behind him. Had Sekai come to sleep with him? But, as he slowly shifted, still blinking sleep from his eyes, he turned to see no one there.

So it seemed he’d left his dreamscape for nothing, then. Val failed to notice the cups had moved - he could barely even recall the last time he’d drank from them. He loved the hot cocoa that was plentiful around here, but of course it was bound to make his stomach upset. He always tried to remind himself to eat something one of his clanmates had caught, instead, remembering what his father had said about that. A growing lion needed plenty of meat and minimal sweets. It was sometimes too good to resist, however.

Val was just about to try and get comfortable once more when he spotted something on the table. Something that wasn’t there before... something familiar.

Hopping down from his bed, he approached the table and the object upon it. “Silly bird!” he exclaimed, careful to keep his voice low due to others being asleep around him. How on earth had that gotten here? He’d lost it long before he’d left RiverClan. He lifted the stuffed animal and upon closer inspection realized it wasn’t exactly his old plush. This one wasn’t tattered but brand new. And, there was something on it... a little blue triangle. Looking up thoughtfuly, Valemon finally noticed the note. He’d have to ask Sekai what it said... but at the very least he recognized the letter ‘A’ that had been signed.

Although he had several questions, a yawn interrupted his thoughts and reminded him he was still tired. Gingerly snatching up the stuffed bird, he carried it back to his bed, where he set it next to another plush: the lion Sekai had gifted him, dubbed ‘Coco’. At this point, he was on his way to a collection.

COLD NOSTALGIA

She had caught a deer and she had decided to take it back to Valemon, as she had figured the young one hadn't eaten much in the last few days.

The she-wolf had been surprised to see the lion cub with a falcon plush when she dragged the deer into the room. "Hey Valemon." She said. "I brought you something to eat. Sorry if I invaded your privacy."

Val turned sharply in surprise as someone entered the room... but it was just Natasha. The cub relaxed, realizing that the femme was a familiar presence. She’d actually made an outstanding attempt at being kind to him, one Val appreciated. Her being nice enough to share her cabin the first few days he’d been here had been great, too. And now... she’d brought him a late-night meal?

Valemon’s mouth began to water as soon as caught sight of the deer. “No,” he said simply at her apology. His cabin would always be open to visits, especially by her. “Thank.” Large smile on his maw, the young lion grabbed the note on the table and padded closer to her. “C’n read this?” he asked, dropping it before Nat. He’d been thinking about asking Sekai, but if Natasha could read, he wouldn’t have to wait. In the meantime, he took a large bite from the deer’s flank. This was probably the best thing he’d eaten since leaving home.
