IN THE EYES OF TOMORROW // Arvid Funeral - APHRA CIPHER . - 05-22-2021

Alright so truthfully, Aphra had no idea what to do with holding a funeral, but Arvid didn't really have any family members to be able to hold this for him. With the help of some NPCs, Aphra brought Arvid's body close to the Grotto, where she decided he would be buried. He was a scientist and enjoyed science-y things, so she figured that maybe he would like to be buried near a cave full of stalagmite and stalactites. Aphra had the NPCs prepare a grave for the young pup and once it was prepared, Aphra tried to call out telepathically to her clanmates: "Wanderers! Come to the Grotto for a vigil for Arvid."

She really didn't know what she was doing, but she did bring some poisonous flowers with her to bury with the direwolf scientist. He'd probably enjoy that, too.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

He doesn't quite understand funerals. If anything, he doesn't get why he was shooed away from the carcass that was clearly okay to eat, perfectly fine in a multitude of ways. That had been the carcass of an unfamiliar face, another funeral that had happened previously. The komodo monitor would have considered Arvid a friend, a companion, if there was room in his sluggish head to comprehend such concepts.

Regardless, Anthemtalon sauntered on over. The smell of death, turned over earth, it conflicted with the sentient thoughts that swam faintly in his head. Tongue flicked and brought in more of the enticing smell, but he decided that he was better off eating things that didn't happen to be his friends; unless it was unable to be helped, because if he had to choose between survival and morals the simplistic Anthemtalon was going to certainly choose the former regardless of what his peers thought. The lizard settled silently a decent distance away (enough to where it couldn't be mistaken as him trying to take a bite out of the deceased pup but close enough to show that he vaguely understood what was going on), resting his head on the back of a scaly paw.

She still didn't really know who Arvid was but nonetheless he was a clanmate. At Aphra's call she trudged her way over with a dipped head, paws dragging in the sand. Sat next to Anthem with a huff.

"Such a sorry fate." Angel murmured to himself, still in a bit of shock over the whole ordeal. He hadn't actually expected Sojourn to murder one of her own, much less a wanderer she seemed proud of and interested to see grow, but then again, she had been pacing back and forth like a wild and sick dog. It was foolish to try to talk reason with her, and as smart as Arvid had been, he lacked the understanding of emotional outbursts to know to stand back, or so he supposed. He was just trying to justify in the end why he shouldn't have tried to do what he did, and make an alternative ending where he was still alive had he done anything different. Maybe there was none.

He, like Aphra, had gathered what poisonous flowers he could find, heavy emphasis on the ones the direwolf had previously used to make poisons with, overwhelmingly bitter at the one fact that he could not find the one flower Arvid confessed to be his favorite. In a land where snow and ice touched ground, a tropical flower would be impossible to find, unless you could grow one. Maybe he could correct the mistake at a later time.
