YOU PASSED, BUT AT WHAT COST? // blooding - ASMODEUS DI-ANGELO - 05-22-2021

"natus vincere" asmodeus ── so bloodings were a thing, weren't they? he had heard about them from stories of his father and from others. a status like that would be nice so in the dead silence of the evening the cub slipped out of his house after having eaten his fill. a huff through his nose as he cast a glance back at the sleeping form of his father and padded out.
well, to say he was prepared would be an understatement. Who knew the desert got so cold in the evenings and so hot in during the day? he certainly didn't notice, having always had something to protect him from the elements. he shrugged, he was tough, he'd push through. narrowed optics against the sand stinging his lids, blinking and coughing as memories surfaced.
he was supposed to take something down. he had experience, training with dante had helped a bit but he wasn't so sure he was able to kill something. never done it before. "well, time to man up then, i guess." a quick bark of encouragement as he padded further into the bushes.

found some kind of bird thing, larger than him. the feathers would look nice on a cloak, the skull would be beautiful too. a small grin on his maw, he crouched down slow, careful not to move his tail should it brush against the leaves and make noise. it was a crow, intelligent in the optics as it looked right past his hiding spot. claws slid out slowly, inhale, exhale, leap. body weight was enough to pin the animal down, teeth were quick to find jugular and take its life. crimson lifeblood decorated his face and he snorted, shaking his head and taking his meal then and there.
had his fill, stripped the corpse for bones, skull and feather and began slowly making his way back, unaware of the ground  beneath him.

okay, so that was an mistake. he didn't look down to see the thorn that went clear through his foot. didn't notice it at first and kept walking but head spun and he blinked in shock, rapidly, looking down, maw open to see many thorns attached to a vine. bones clattered to the ground, eyes rolled back and the jaguar collapsed in onto himself with a groan.

Typically pups of The Pitt didn't take on the Blooding so young, although Dante supposed that the kids were, what... five months now? There wasn't exactly a limit to the Blooding per say, Dante believed, but youngsters probably weren't going to last very long. Dante didn't think Jormungand would let his kids do it on their own, or at least the hybrid assumed.

Hearing that Asmodeus was gone was a concern, but Dante didn't think about it at first. The kids were allowed to have free reign of the territory and he wasn't their father, he didn't have to know where they were. That being said, when he caught sight of the cub's scent on the wind, he followed it. "God damn it Asmodeus," The sharkcat growled to himself, finding Asmodeus collapsed and seemingly unconscious. At first, Dante would try to give the kid a nudge, at least trying to see if he was passed out or not.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

While he was within his right to make the attempt... The petite druid hadn't exactly been thrilled to hear Asmodeus had gone on his blooding.  He was still so young.  There wasn't necessarily a cap on age but... She was fairly certain youth were encouraged to do it together.

Perhaps she'd bring it up with her father.  Kydobi had established the tradition, but maybe a gentle age requirement might be good.

A sentiment that grew as the fleshweaver spotted Dante moving towards a fallen Asmodeus.  Hazel hues blinked before she darted over.  "Asmodeus?  Asmodeus can- can you hear us?  Can- can you talk to us?" She asked gently as Dante tried to nudge him.  Stars.

She breathed out softly and turned to the satchel harnessed on her side.  The thorn had gone right through the cub's foot.  Not great.  They would need to be careful removing it.  Quick to pressure and bind the wound.  Aine gathered the bandages out of her satchel, as well as a vial of marigold poultice.

But they needed to know if he was conscious or not before rushing into removal.  Make sure he wasn't in or going into shock.

"natus vincere" asmodeus ── the first one to approach was dante, though he didn't know it yet. mind still dizzy the cub muttered something about flowers before being nudged by his paw. head lolling limply to one side as the motion shifted his body, paw still stuck in one place from the thorn. a gentler voice appeared and asked a question. a frown surfaced on his muzzle. "aphra?" yeah, he was out of it.

A bark, a sound that stabbed through his heart. His son was hurt. Head snapped up, body following suit as the panther leapt out of his house with a snarl. "Asmodeus? Fuck!" There was literally only one thing the other could've been doing: the blooding. He had been talking about it for ages. He was too young..
Tracking the scent to blood and Aine and Dante the panther narrowed his optics before detecting literal root of the problem: a spike had gone clean through his son's foot. Aine asked if Asmodeus could hear them and he responded with Aphra's name. "Aine, can you please fix him?" He didn't like to use the word please unless it was for fun but this was his child. His blood. Some pleading could do no harm here, no?

Shit. The sight of the spike lodged into the kid's paw was awful, and Dante could only imagine that the pain Asmodeus was in. The cub was barely conscious, muttering things and even saying the name of his mother, who was... definitely not around. Unfortunately there wasn't much the hybrid could do here; he definitely wasn't a medic, and using drugs to numb the pain was likely not the solution here. Dante shuffled back, to stand close by Jormungand, to give Aine space. The one time he would likely respect her.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]
