BUT WE LEARN PRETTY QUICK // swimming - DRAYDEN CIPHER. - 04-27-2021

Drayden was accustomed to living on a beach, but that didn't mean that the heat didn't bother him. Even though he had shed his winter fur, his fur was still relatively thicker than most felines - snow leopard genes, and all. It was the whole reason he decided to make a den within the cliffs, so he could catch a breeze here-and-there and cool off during the night. But during the day, Drayden needed some other way to cool off.

And what better way than that than by swimming in the ocean? Now, Drayden wasn't a particularly strong swimmer but that didn't mean he couldn't walk out into the ocean and go towards where the waves splashed his chest - and that's exactly what the young Keeper did. The spray of ocean water hitting his face was relieving, a smile on his maw as he enjoyed his 'swim'[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

"It is." Drayden agreed with Winterhymn's words with a small rumble, letting out a noise similar to a purr. "I'm doing well, just hot with this weather and all. I don't think snow leopards are used to warmer temperatures." He added with a joke, his tone light to show that he was only joking around and trying to strike up a simple conversation. Drayden truthfully didn't mind the weather too much, really. "Hey Survivor." The boy greeted the strange, sleek-furred feline as they swam over.

"You liking it here?" Drayden's question was, of course, directed to the foreign creature. They had joined a while ago but he had yet to check up on them. Better now than never, right?[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Webbed paws and a snow white coat of hydrophobic nature, the tiny hybrid belonged in an aquatic environment.  But she was still barely the size of some of many of the seashells she so loved.  So small most waves could easily topple her over, even as they stretched their farthest across the shore.

So Rowena didn't jump into the ocean... Though the temptation lingered.  Always within the edges of her consciousness.  A pull.  A drive that made her drift closer and closer to the water.  She knew better to panic anyone though... Her father especially.  He worried so much.  Young as she was, she had a feeling something had happened before.

She'd start smaller.  Shallower waters.  Until the waves didn't seem so daunting.  But she would still play close to the edge.  Where the waves only nearly brushed her.  Digging moats into the sand to see them fill up, then wash away.  Like a game.  Giggling whenever a crab fell in, then scampered out.  They walked funny.

Rowena lifted her head from her current moat when she heard voices.  All of them familiar now.  Drayden.  Winterhymns.  Survivor.  "Dia dhuit!" The little tirone called, rounded ears perked.

Drayden was hot?  Oh.  Oh, his fur did seem a little thick.  Much longer than her own.  Winterhymns' too.  At least they had the beach to cool off on then.  That was nice.

The Survivor's statement on birds not being able to whisk you away was... unfortunately not entirely true, as evident by what happened with Goldenpaw. But of course, Goldenpaw had been smaller and younger then and birds typically didn't prey on larger felines such as himself or Winterhymns. Drayden didn't want to alarm the foreign, mutated cat however, so he didn't comment on the birds they mentioned.

Splashing made him look away from The Survivor and look over to Rowena. "Dia dhuit!" He copied the saying she and her family typically said, even if it didn't sound correct on his tongue. It felt really weird to say it even after some practice he did on his own, but he was confident in how he said it now. Even if it still sounded a bit off. "Do you want us to come over?" He called to Rowena, noticing how she tended to stay towards the shallower areas of the water. He couldn't blame her though, like The Survivor pointed out mentally (not that Drayden could hear their thoughts of course) - being swept away by unforgiving waves was not something he wanted to deal with, either.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]
