Dante typically didn't like kids and he was certainly far from being a kid-friendly person. But he felt pity for the young cub, seeing how much it hurt Asmodeus to see his father in such a state. It wasn't hard to notice that there was something... off about Jormungand and Dante wanted to distract Asmodeus before the kid did something he might regret.

Asmodeus seemed to be an explosive sort, prone to anger. It reminded Dante of himself when he was younger, quite honestly. Although granted, being neglected and experimented on by scientists probably wasn't the best childhood. Dante led Asmodeus towards a clearing in the desert, turning to face the cub and flared out his wings. "Attack me." Came the simple demand, though no explanation followed. He wanted to see if Asmodeus knew where he was getting at.

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── asmodeus followewd dante away, deep in thought, not casting a glance back at his father who had regained his demeanor in a surprisingly quick manner despite the blood running down his body. the hybrid stopped, turned to the child and spread out his wings. as expected him to say some comforting words, or slap him or something, but the "attack me" was unexpected to say the least. optics blinking slightly in shock, maw parting to form unspoken words, numerous questions briefly flashing across his eyes. gael's words danced through his mind, not to do anything rash, but since dante was here and he was offering...
the words gael uttered flew out of the child's mind as his gaze zeroed in on dante's wing. the cub would attempt to use his small size to launch himself at the other, claws reaching out to tug at any fur or and skin he could grasp onto. should it work he'd try to latch his teeth onto it, grunting a "why are you doing this?"

Although his instinct was to move aside and try to deflect Asmodeus's attack, Dante fought the urge and allowed the cub to sink his claws and teeth into one of his forearms. Dante grit his teeth at the pain that flashed from the wound, answering the Cipher-D'Angelo cub though gritted teeth, "It helps get anger out. This is what I normally do." Although with feral creatures that he found lurking the desert, should he be lucky enough to meet one. Even a vulture would suffice, even if they were a tad bit smaller than him.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── dante just stood there and accepted the brutality asmodeus was dealing out. the cub wasn't quite sure if he was supposed to be apologetic or whatever the heck, but right now all he could see was everything but tinged red, and many snow-white feathers fluttering to the ground. "mistake, dante." came the murmur, followed quickly by a short pant. "you normally hurt things when you get angry?" true, it did feel a bit like therapy, asmodeus had to agree, but didn't this get boring? every time lashing out in anger, hurting someone?
so he stopped. stepped away from dante, optics still lingering on open scrapes on his body. he wanted to make them deeper, but his eyes darted up to look into the hybrid's. "you're just letting me attack you." his voice suddenly became calm, very calm, gathered all his frustration and quenched the fires down. "you've got to play fair."

At the word 'mistake', Dante pulled his head back in surprise, confused as to where Asmodeus was getting at. The cub backed off from his attack, asking if he did this all the time. "Nah, not all the time. I usually get high." On what exactly? Anything he could get his paws on at the time. "But you don't wanna go down that same path, trust me." He was gone too far to go back at this point. Asmodeus didn't need to be going down the exact same path Dante was. Hell, Jormungand would probably kill me if I tried to encourage the kid.

Asmodeus declared that this fight should be fair and while Dante respected that, he shook his head. "Your father won't be too pleased if I do. You don't wanna actually fight me, kid." Growing up and being pitted against other hybrids made him a fighter, but not on his own terms. It was a 'kill or be killed' situation, unfortunately. Not that Dante particularly liked thinking about his past; it was the whole reason he tried to make the memories go away with drugs, after all.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── dante stopped, looked at him in surprise, a movement which confused asmodeus slightly. he said he usually got high, and the cub shrugged. he wasn't old enough to know what the definition of high was but if it made him end up like dante then well, he'd do his best to steer clear of them.
the other backed down, saying he didn't want to risk angering jormungand, and asmodeus narrowed his optics. "why won't you fight me?" his voice turned teasing. "scared i'll beat you?"

A snort escaped Dante at Asmodeus's question, clearly offended that the child thought he was afraid of him. "Of course not, but attacking a child might not be best for my reputation." He replied with a chuckle. Gael and Aine already hated him, Kold as well, he assumed. Attacking a young kid would definitely ruin his chances of being promoted within The Pitt. "Attacking you might be the last thing I do on Pittian soil."

But if Asmodeus insisted...? Well, Dante would certainly obliged, though he had his doubts on whether or not Gael would believe him. Ah, well. Maybe a break from the group drama would be a good thing.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── his question was mt with a snort, offended was the other by the cub's simple words. asmodeus shrugged at the sentence dante spoke, saying that his reputation, what little he had, would be brought down by attacking a kid. "attacking you might be the last thing i do on pittian soil." that caught the panther cub's attention, and his ears flickered, gaze turning to the hybrid. "wait so if we weren't on pittian soil, you'd gladly attack me?" head tilted in interest, thought about where they could go so he could properly duke it out with this guy.
"plus, you could teach me. i need to learn to fight and what better foundation than anger?"

"No, I meant that if Gael found out, I could be exiled." Dante replied, though he did realize how the original comment could have been taken the way that Asmodeus took it. Eventually the hybrid shook his body and fluffed out his feathers before facing Asmodeus with a grin. "But if you insist, kid. I'll show you."

With that, Dante tried to leap towards ASMODEUS, trying to use one of his paws to knock the cub to the ground. For now, Dante didn't use his claws; this particular attempt didn't require the use of any, after all. Regardless, he would have to hold back slightly so he didn't accidentally cause a wound that would be life-threatening to a child.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"natus vincere" ✭ asmodeus ── huh, dante was right. asmodeus hadn't thought of the fact gael might expel him after he may or may not attack asmodeus. his feathers fluffed up, a smile curving the hybrid's lips and he leapt towards the cub.
now asmodeus wasn't certain that dante was going to attack him but once the cub saw the large shadow coming towards him his knees weakened and he kinda fell to the ground, narrowly missing dante's paw that dragged across the air above his head. he blinked at the other, glad he didn't use his claws, then shook his fur angrily, the fur necklace swishing. angry at his weakness, angry that he shrunk back. turned to face the hybrid once more. "again."
