THE DEEP - Joining - SirDio - 04-21-2021

The water near the railroad gate swirled and bubbled gently, something beneath the surface glowing in small dots of white. Though the sun was high in the sky, though Solstice watched with his burning eye, the great dragon of the deep surfaced with a low honk, like a goose. Massive front paws, fused at the fingers with webbing, clambered onto the gate's docking, great mottled blue body shining like dozens of sapphires. Serpentine body slid from the water as the beast walked toward the bell, a snort of amusement coming from him. A bell? Who needed a bell when one could bellow?

His hollow crest vibrated gently, causing his call to reverberate into the air, not too loud, but definitely loud enough to be noticed. The great god sat down with grace, a grimace on his face. "Cshio'ku. Ya'kuma temera'te tuo Solstice." He hadn't figured that the beings of the island didn't speak Etherian, so that's what he defaulted to.

The bell served its purpose well.  The petite dire wolf familiar with the ring.  But a bellow served as well.  Although with less comprehension.  The words foreign to the fae.  Not a language she could say she had ever heard before.  Ears perked.  Head tilting as she approached.  Curious.

Sightless sea-green hues flickered towards the sound.  Brow creased.  "Aloha," her soft reply.  Uncertain now, if the stranger would understand her own speech.  But the dealer would carry on without pause.  Head dipping briefly in a polite manner.  "What is your business with the Typhoon?"

They had clearly wanted to speak to someone... At least... Probably.  That's what calls usually meant.  Of course, just as a howl could mean many things, Keona supposed that bellow could have too.  She would prefer to learn, rather than continue guessing.  Ignorance was not bliss to the bookworm.  Hopefully they spoke the common language.

Re: THE DEEP - Joining - daniel - 04-21-2021

He had heard many different sounds as means of communication, and was even working on one of his own with the help of Keona, but he'd been lying if he said that the deep bellowing that Fathom released into the world didn't make him incredibly uncomfortable. It just sounded like a creature who had the potential to devour him and leave no trace, or something generally just massive and intimidating. And he wasn't entirely wrong in his assumption, the creature was indeed large. Much bigger than himself or Keona, and despite the fact he had been told that not everyone who crossed into the Typhoon's territory was a threat, he figured to himself he should at least get this one pass to be on guard.

Unlike the smaller Dealer who had beaten him to the scene like always, Danny's ears were pulled back slightly, head lowered but not tilted. Concerned, worried but protective otherwise. He wouldn't say anything until the newcomer spoke back and responded to Keo, and should Fathom try anything or move too fast, well...he'd, um...he'd really show him what for.

Re: THE DEEP - Joining - LUMIA CIPHER. - 04-22-2021

An echoing bellow traveling over The Typhoon's territory was what drew Lumia over, the girl's interest thoroughly piqued. She had grown used to newcomers ringing the bell in order to announce their presence, or even just shouting, but this was the first time she had encountered something quiet so direct. It led to the young Cipher arriving not long after Danny, glancing up at the wolf and offering him a small smile as she came to sit beside him. He had that usual anxious look on his face, and Mia hoped that her presence would be enough to soothe his worries, at least somewhat. It was actually pretty ironic, how Lumia had so much more confidence in her own fighting prowess despite the growing size difference between them.

While Keona had already asked the major question, Lumia found another inquiry lingering on her mind as she faced Fathom. Her small tail twitched behind her as she questioned, still smiling, "Excuse me? What language were you speaking before? I've never heard anything like it before." The other's appearance was also of particular interest to her, but as she had grown used to The Typhoon, she had also grown used to some rather odd creatures. The Typhoon was such a large group that many different and unique animals populated it, including dragons and hybrids and pretty much everything in between. It was because of this that she could now smile calmly up at Fathom, without feeling like she had a million more questions for him.

Fathom realized, all too late, that he had never learned to speak english. He could read it mentally, hear it soundly, but speaking and writing it was a whole different level. His head dipped in greeting to Keona, jaws opening for a moment then closing, lips moving in quiet foreign words. A large paw tapped against his lower jaw for a moment, head looking toward Danny and Lumia. Sadness graced his eyes, a frown pulling on his scaled lips.

He managed, within the centuries old memories, to find spare words he could use. "Fathom. Seek Home." He was hesitant, unsure if he was making the right words. And then he directed his next set of broken words to Lumia - [color=#00ced1]"Etherian. Of the Gods. Of him." And he pointed a large paw to the sun, though there was bitterness in the word 'him'.

Usually visitors used the bell to announce their presence, though the occasionally yowl, screech - or in this case, a roar - wasn't uncommon. In fact, it made Vayne even more curious as to who or what was visiting them in this case. The long-haired she-cat padded over soon after Lumia, catching the tail end of her aunt's question. So Fathom couldn't speak English, then? Oh geez. This might be hard...

"Welcome to Typhoon." Vayne spoke, hoping she didn't sound condescending or anything as she tried to communicate with Fathom. She gestured to herself with a paw as she introduced herself, "Vayne." Better not confuse him with all the surnames.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: THE DEEP - Joining - LUMIA CIPHER. - 04-25-2021

Etherian. The name of the language remained foreign in Lumia's mind, and the explanation certainly didn't help, either. Of the gods? Gods not only existed, but they also had their own language? Well... she supposed demons existed – something she knew very well because of her family – so perhaps gods weren't all that surprising. Still, she found herself muttering, gaze seeming a little far off, "Etherian... interesting. Sorry for not understanding. Like I said... nothing really like it." She then offered the other a friendly smile, hoping that it would soothe the frown on his face somewhat. Her next words were an introduction, that same smile remaining on her face, "Anyways... my name is Lumia, but you can just call me Lu, if you want." Perhaps that would be easier for him. It seemed like he was already struggling with English words in general, so there was no reason to make names more difficult.
