curious had he been of new scents within or without the borders of the golden eye, the talonguard himself making a lonely journey. close to his side sat his satchel, filled with small scraps of roasted and dried food that he could eat on his trip. he'd left after a night of drinking, and gods, did his head ever hurt. he'd been hungover, that much he knew. he could feel it pounding in his head. coughing to clear his lungs, would the mute grim traverse country side. he didn't exactly know why he was traveling - he just needed to leave the golden eye for a while. he knew that he was running from something, something he'd run from before that had got him to this point.

squeezing his eyes shut, he would exhale as he looked back over his shoulder. silent fell his breath as the pain in his chest grew, closing his eyes against it. he couldn't go back, not right now. his head was a mess, he'd woken up and he'd missed arlo's presence. missed it in a way that coursed through him unsteadily and made his heart squeeze. of course, he couldn't admit to that, and so he'd left, with a great deal of regret. though he hadn't left alone, another had accompanied him, lost to him the other's purpose but a welcome source of companionship. alone, he feared what his mind would have tormented him with, though he was sure that DEUCALION wouldn't be too happy to learn of the nightmares that might wake him up screaming in what little tattered remains that he had for a voice.

facing into the breeze, would the gray and tan ticked tabby continue on his journey, gray eyes fixed on his footing, tail waving as a banner, and a way to warn his companion of uneven terrain. pausing to make sure that the other was doing well, he would give a sleepy yawn, tugging his satchel a bit closer to re-settle it's position. he didn't even know the full reason behind his travel, though made up had been his reasoning of gathering flowers and rare herbs, he found some truth now in it as his eyes fell across a small field of flowers. pushing his way into them, he didn't know how much time he'd spent within it, cataloguing each flower and picking small blooms to press within his notebook, others taken at the stem to dry and try their uses. suddenly, it was dark, and he could no longer clearly see the blooms around him, sheepish the grin he would offer to deucalion should he have waited for him to satiate his curiosity. it was common knowledge to find some way of shelter for them both, and so further carried the journey in the darkening evening sky.
