a different state of mind - open; moving mud - rhosmari - 04-11-2021

Recuperating, taking stock. Seeing what was what. This was what she was doing when she had returned. Finding out that her brother had decided to take the steps that her Guru should have done and exiled someone. A guest. Who had decided to potentially put the Coalition in danger when they were already in a vulnerable state. How could he? How could he have even thought to spit her hospitality back into her face like that? The leopardess felt her claws unsheathe as she walked across the packed snow toward the village that they would still call home. Progress needed to be made. She would force it if necessary. The buildings needed to be righted and fixed. Rubble clears out, mud shoved back where it belonged. She sighed, watching the white puffs of air leave her muzzle. So much time. Too much. Casually the wildcard would linger on the fringes of the temporary camps. Listening to the quiet sounds of others before she finally left off.

Her trek to the village was short, her knowledge of this home, one she had helped to create, seared in her mind. As she entered the partially devastated town snow began to cling to her legs. The area grew colder around her as she moved forth and she concentrated her gaze at the frozen mound of snow and mud. Immediately she liquefied the water within the mud and she began to move that. Forcing the mud to rise up and back over the ridge. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she continued to move large swaths of mud and ice. The trees though were more of a problem and one had fallen on her own house. Great. "At least it looks better than it did before." They should be able to move back in soon.

Astraea had very little memories of the main camp, considering she was only a few months old, but she knew where it was. She was starting to get quite homesick (campsick?) if she was honest and wanted to be back home, where it was warmer and more secure. Aphra and a few other adults were trying their best to repair camp and make it so that the rest of the group could go back without much trouble, but Astraea was getting antsy. And that's what made the liliger make her way towards the old camp, where she would see Sojourn standing and manipulating the mud.

"Miss Sojourn?" The cub called out, walking closer to the leader and watching with wide eyes, clearly impressed. "How are you doing that?"[glow=white,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: a different state of mind - open; moving mud - ARVID R. - 04-12-2021

Arvid knew about the mudslide that had devastated the group's main camp, but not because he had been present for it. He had joined shortly afterwards, when things were beginning to calm down. However, it hadn't taken long for him to hear about it, especially when he had noticed the various temporary camps scattered around. That also certainly explained the presence of mud everywhere, making it almost seem like there was more mud than snow in the mountain territory. Regardless of whether he had been present for the initial event, though, Arvid was still trying to help out where he could. He was always willing to lend a hand to move the smaller mud piles, his large size for his age a great boon when it came to assisting. He didn't much care for the mud staining his usually neatly kept fur, but he could deal with it. Especially considering he wanted to find a place of his own within the main camp when everything was cleaned up. He couldn't do so if buildings were still partially knocked over or drowned in thick swathes of mud.

He had been helping out with some of the smaller work when he heard chattering from nearby, mixed in with a few soft gasps. Naturally he found himself glancing up, surprised when he saw Sojourn forcing mud back, up and over the ridge that it had come from. Brushing away the last few twigs he had been working with, the canine then turned and headed over, settling down next to Astraea. As his tail wagged behind him, Arvid found himself muttering a bit enviously, "Damn, I wish I was able to do something like that. It would certainly make moving the trees and everything much easier..." The strength of a few larger animals could move some of the fallen trees out of the way, but it took a bit of time, and a lot of effort. Being able to move them with powers, like Sojourn had done with the mud... it would be a dream come true. Unfortunately, the dire wolf knew that one couldn't just force powers to manifest, so he was shit out of luck, unless the divines were smiling down on him. And considering what his life had been like before joining the Coalition, that didn't really seem to be the case – at least in his mind.

Really, he'd only wound up coming over because he was looking for a good spot to sunbathe. The cold meant needing to find constant spots of warmth was typically a top priority. The noise and commotion and people speaking made the monitor pivot and wander over to see what the deal was. Back to the camp that he'd tried to help clean previously, if his memory served him correct. It probably was, for Anthemtalon saw no reason for it not to.

"Slush," he grumbled as he watched the mud be pushed along. He definitely wasnt going to be able to help move any trees despite his own size. Some branches, though? Probably. Some movement would maybe warm him up; or he'd find a nice spot to sunbathe while he tried to lug branches along. Was he supposed to help? Could he just watch?

Anthemtalon decided he was going to plop on down and wait like the lazy and sleepy lizard he was, taking mighty interest in watching the mud be moved instead of actually doing anything to help. He scraped the ground with a talon, and then nodded to himself. That was good enough in his mind. A heavy exhale as he settled, tongue flickering as he watched. "Slush moved. Neat."
