THE PARTY'S JUST BEGUN // Mariana injury - CAESAR CIPHER. - 03-19-2021

[glow=black,1,400]I WANT SACRED, I WANT FINAL !。+゚.[/glow]
TRIGGER WARNING: in the third paragraph, small warning for gore; it isn't detailed other than Caesar breaking Mariana's bottom jaw
//Permission given by Rhosmari to powerplay Mariana! Also, retro to Caesar being confronted by Roan

It was almost funny how often Caesar came back to The Typhoon, given his hatred for the group and its Captain. He kept coming back, almost like a flea to shit; but as of this moment, the savannah felt as if he could get away with this things right now. He had successfully manipulated Goldenluxury (although that hadn't been his original intention) and in Tanglewood, he had been able to attack Atbash and leave her for dead. Whether or not she survived though, he didnt' care to stay to find out; the gash he had left was pretty big, so he assumed she was out of the way. But unfortunately, his attack on Atbash didn't satisfy the urge he felt for wanting to get his 'revenge' on The Typhoon. For casting him out, for denying him a rank he so clearly deserved.

Being in the jungle gave the savannah a little bit more cover, although he definitely didn't blend in by any means. He stalked through the forest, ears pricked for some sort of sign that a Typhooner was nearby. He was unaware that Aphra had been kicked out and in the back of his mind, he was curious whether or not she was causing havoc herself within The Typhoon. I should hope so. Caesar thought to himself, his ears flicking twice as he prowled along. She knows she would no longer be my favorite if she wasn't at least trying.

A sneeze made Caesar halt in his tracks, ears pricked for a moment before he started to search for the nearby source, It was here he found a small kitten who looked strikingly similar to Roxanne, albeit a different color scheme. She had the horns and wings that Roxanne had, though whether or not the two were related, he didn't know. But anger flared to life in his chest as he saw the kitten solely due to the similarities she had to the Captain. Caesar watched as Mariana started her tics - at first intrigued by them, but they slowly started to irritate him. The kitten acted like it was normal for her, like this wasn't something she could control. I doubt that.

Mariana continued her tics, unaware that Caesar was nearby. Her tail snapped back and forth and she hit her cheek with a forepaw. It was almost amusing to watch to Caesar in a way, considering how he already had the intention of harming her. A child, he was going to harm a child. The savannah had no remorse though, he's done it before. This kitten just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Caesar continued to watch Mariana for a few heartbeats before deciding he had enough.

The savannah leaped at the smaller feline, holding a paw to her muzzle to prevent her from crying out. He pushed her head onto the ground, still muffling her, while the kitten tried flailing her arms and legs to try and fight back against Caesar. "Stop moving, it'll make this a whole lot easier." He growled in a low voice before sinking his claws into Mariana's stomach. She screamed as much as could while his paw was on her mouth, tears streaking down her face from the pain as Caesar was seemingly cutting open her stomach. The demon flicked his paw, making the cut turn towards her sides. Mariana's breathing became labored as she sobbed - her crying briefly getting louder as Caesar removed his paw from covering her mouth. Snarling, Caesar placed his hand back on Mariana's muzzle and pushed down, until he felt the jaw snap underneath him. It was a satisfying noise, but Caesar knew he didn't have time to celebrate it; he was sure that others would be alerted by Mariana's cries now.

And so, Caesar lashed out at the kitten's throat one more time - albeit nothing super serious - before he fled the scene.

//TL;DR - Caesar was in the jungle, found Mariana laying at a tree trunk and decided to attack her, her cries were muffled at first but he released her briefly, so her cries could be heard for a moment until he broke her lower jaw.
Exact wounds: broken lower jaw, small wound on her neck, deep gash from her stomach going to one of her sides[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

MARIANAS
NYSTRÖM!

Everything had happened so fast. Then seemed to slow down to a crawl when the attack had happened. She had been minding her own business, trying to see if she could catch something. Make a hunter out of herself considering it was so cool to watch older members come back with big catches like it was nothing. Of course she didn't have any experience but that was okay. Life was about learning and today she had all the time to learn in the world. Even as big as she was she shouldn't have went on her own. She should have asked for someone to come with her. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened but she didn't think about that, the memory of Deldrach's injury far from her head. She had been trying to stalk but her tics were making that kind of hard. But she just needed to focus and then she could bring back this frog. Maybe give it to Lulu or Danny? Vayne? Torsten? One of them had to like frogs right? Sure! Frogs were kinda chewy. One of her own favorites.

But she never made it that far when something or rather someone jumped on her. Pinned her down, told her to stop fighting so that it could he easier. The pain was horried and cruel and she couldn't help but scream out. It was something she had never felt before, such and intensity. Her cries muffled by the paw pressing against her muzzle. It was prolong with how he dug and tore up to her side making her eyes roll but she kept trying to get help. Someone had to find her. Someone had to.... She had to question why this was happening. Had she been bad? Did she do something? It had to be a punishment for something she had done. As her jaws part to scream again a sudden force hit her jaw, pressed down too hard and the screaming stopped. There was nothing but silence. Golden eyes were wide, tear filled and tears stained her fur.

She was slowly sinking into shock as claws scrapped and dug at her throat. A puddle of shimmering gold slowly seeping around her body, breathing shallow. Her wings splayed out haphazardly behind her body. Almost picturesque if it wasn't her own blood.

Truthfully, Roan didn't know about why Caesar hated The Typhoon so much. He had never been told the story, and he had never particularly been interested in knowing, considering the other was a grade A asshole. However, if he had known that this was all simply over a rank? Being bitter that he hadn't been pushed higher in the group's hierarchy? The soothsayer would've been furious. To commit such atrocities all because you were bitter over a rank, especially a decision made so long ago... it was inconceivable to Roan. Although, it wasn't as if Caesar hadn't proven himself to be a bitter and sadistic bitch a hundred times over in the past. Almost nothing he did at this point could surprise the siamese, considering he was the one that always had to clean up after it. Always had to grit his teeth and make sure others were alright after they had been wrongfully attacked by the bastard. It seemed as though the Cipher hadn't yet hit his limit, though. He could still go lower.

Out for his usual walk around the less populated parts of the territory, Roan had been having a relatively peaceful morning. That is, until cries reached him. Frantic sobbing that sounded unnervingly familiar. It was enough to make him spring into action, wings opening up as he took to the sky and followed the sound. Sure enough, it wasn't long until Caesar's scent reached him as well, causing his entire body to tense with anger. He wasn't given much more time to seethe, though, because it wasn't long before he spotted Marianas. His heart immediately dropping into his stomach upon seeing her, all splayed out with blood slowly pouring out all around her. He was quick to plummet down out of the sky, glancing around to make sure that Caesar was gone before he approached. The soothsayer's words were gentle as he spoke up, ears pressed flat against his skull, "Marianas... shit, shit... don't worry, I'm going to help you, I promise." He wasn't sure if his words would be of any comfort, but he still felt the need to offer them. Additionally, he knew there was no chance of the girl responding, considering the state that her jaw was in.

Dropping his satchel down on the ground beside him, Roan was quick to get to work. He pulled out bandages, bindings, and the various herbs that he would need, his eyes narrowing with concentration. He decided to focus on Marianas' side first, since that's where she was losing the most blood. Grabbing his horsetail and marigold, the medic quickly ground them together, creating a poultice before leaning forward to apply them gently to Marianas's side, along the length of the entire gash. He then took his supply of bandages, aiming to slowly cover the large wound with bandages gradually. Once that was finished, he turned back towards Marianas's face, his expression still grim. He muttered softly to the kit as he leaned forward, sighing, "I'm so sorry, Marianas... but this is going to hurt. I need to make sure that your jaw is in the right place before I set it to heal." With that, he carefully moved forward, taking a rag and making sure that there was no extra blood filling her mouth.

Once he was sure the girl wasn't about to choke, he took a deep breath inwards. After a moment, he leaned forward to try and carefully grip Marianas's jaw, and move it into place. He would then aim to wrap it up carefully in a splint of bandages, going around Marianas's jaw and over her head. He knew it would be extremely difficult for her to do certain things for a while – talking was the least of her problems when eating and drinking were part of the equation. Still, he'd be able to help her recover once she was in the temple, and once her immediate injuries had been treated. Once her jaw had been treated as best he could for the moment, he aimed to repeat his former actions on the gash on Marianas's neck, applying the poultice and covering it with bandages. If his treatment had been successful, Marianas would look more like a mummy than a feline at that point, but it was unfortunately necessary, in order to keep her breathing.

With another heavy sigh of frustration and worry, Roan then turned and called out, voice slightly hoarse, "Hey! Anybody! Marianas is hurt, and I need help taking her back to the temple!" Being that Marianas was larger than most other kittens, the soothsayer didn't want to risk dropping her on the way to the temple because his back wasn't large enough to carry her on. Thankfully, he knew of several others that would be able to assist, in that regard.[/td][/tr][/table]

[align=center][div style="font-family: georgia; font-size: 11.5px; width: 340px; text-align: justify; line-height:120%"]Revenge. The machinations of one caught in the past, foul play proven a facet alongside dirty tactics, an end more pleasant than any means and thus under the rug swept with ease. Once quiet his own ponderance over such, within those foul depths sunk, drowning as all collapsed, inward drawn until there was nothing but the desire. Too soft the heart cradled between his ribs, however, a gentle and broken thing placed back together with inexperienced hands. His reasoning taken, identity found — or, at the least, believed such, swallowed those sugar coated lies. There was no cause left, nothing to fuel the anger beyond self destruction, tired of it grown as it brought nothing but further turmoil.

The act of a petulant child, temper rising and expressed in tantrum. Had he known the reasoning, bore the story of the original Cipher as so few present on those secluded shores did, such would he become. Preposterous and downright idiotic the notion that supposedly stolen title that which prompted the necessity of such force, though maybe to be expected from the petty beast that deemed himself worthy of a crown made from coal.

Too many the previous assaults, the meagre two enough to tip the balance, aware all made of action that was not wholly understood. Yet they need not parse his intent in full, message almost this, better than that of cadavers left to cool the earth could consume and any well be forgotten. No, this was a continuous reminder, a living example of a folly performed years ago. All prepared for the next, never a matter of if but more grown into when, a conclusion not expected until the perpetrator was left to rot. His own assistance expected and thus his walks became something different, mindless meandering given purpose. Such was not enough to heighten dorment skill grown rusty, a fighter he had never been, his meagre knowledge of medicine cast aside. Nothing more than a tin soldier put out for show awaiting his inevitable fall.

Even during such an early hour too many those passed, their voices coming together, a ceaseless din without proper words, forgone his usual route. Accustomed had he grown to such detours, abandoned the shoreline for the thick growth of the jungle. Little his care for it, and his frequent travels through had done little to lessen the discomfort such closely pressed together vegetation prompted, need enough to force him to tolerate it. Those delicate threads severed, away falling as thoughts did alike, brief the moment of dizziness as his head rose with a sharp movement. Distance stole some of it, carved apart her cries yet could not touch the echoing notes, terror and pain worming through his skull, there pressed until all else was gone.

Familiar the voice though to whom he could not place it known only that it bore a high pitch, the frantic scream that drew forth a cruel thought — a child had been caught this time.

The undergrowth harshly whipped his legs as his momentum begun again, quickened into a pace he knew could only be maintained for so long, too numerous the hazards to allow it to be sustained. Time enough a metallic scent grew prominent, the ambient noise broken, a call for assistance ringing out. Soothed his nerves in some small part when the words registered, the message relayed made clear medical attention was not that far away, unknown as of yet already begun. Of course imparted this knowledge as Harland came to a rather haphazard stop, heavy each breath. Upon the shimmering halo of golden blood his attention fixed, mouth working though soundless was he, voice stolen as looked upon Marianas. The numerous bandages adorning enough to give estimate of her injuries, his stomach turning as new ones found. Finally his eyes moved away, Roan caught and held within wide golden depths, anything better than looking upon the battered child.

The temple. "I don't…" Words dying in moments, his murmur dwindling as again Marianas was looked to for a brief moment. Indeed, large was she, almost as large as either of them though her more meagre weight at least offset how tall she was, too much for him to easily transport. Between them possibly, though awkward would it be. "Could we take her together." Better plan may have been to wait for another of larger stature, one fully capable of carrying a nearly fully grown cat with ease, but he was unsure if they had the benefit of time on their side.

Another injury, one after the other. It seemed nothing short of terrifying, and would have been even more so to the canine had he known it was the same attacker back to back. Like being stalked, each new target seeming more cruel and disastrous than the last, until finally the nightmarish idea of a child being struck became a reality.

He had been there to witness each prior attack, and today was no different it seemed. Although, while he hadn't done much for Deldrach, and could only carry Goldie so far, Marianas was a different story. He could carry her, and he could carry her for miles if needed. No medical knowledge could be found anywhere in his memory, so he could offer no other help than be emergency transport for his smaller, injured crewmates. And he was okay with that, though blood and gore often made him a bit wary and uneasy.

"M-Mari?" Danny inquired quietly, frightened, as the realization set in at Roan's call that it was true, and the young girl truly had been maimed by the living embodiment of evil. Brown eyes widened as he opened and then shut his mouth again, unable to form the words that he needed to say. It was just such a brutal act for no apparent reason, not to him, that it left him quivering without meaning to. But there was no time to be a coward, or to cry. "I...I can take her." Marianas might have been large for a kitten, but he was even larger than that. He could do it, he would help her.
