A cool night, but ones that would be warm soon. The wind whipped over the rocky moors without restraint, biting into those without the means to cover themselves- fur, blankets, jackets, you name it. Some of the Stoneguards milled about quietly, in and out of the cavern without means to anything else. But Arlo needed nothing more then the wings pressed tight against his side, and the logs he was dragging to this pile to keep him warm.
The draconic feline leaned down, exhaling on the logs- dry, and of good side. Flames exhumed from his breath, lighting the logs. It took a few moments, but a good roaring fire, crackling and warm, came soon to warm them up. Arlo huffed gently, curling up besides, laying his head down and closing his eyes. Maybe leading wasn't so bad. Maybe taking time off from his.. side job would lead him to better places, something that he could sustain. Somewhere.. he could start a family. His heart thudded, opening his dark red eyes, staring at the depths. No. He couldn't ever do that. Quiet the approach of a new face, scarred muzzle still as the tom crossed ground as firelight reflected in his eyes. He had yet to know much about this place, and he was curious about it. Flicking an ear as he sat down, Aesi would exhale just to see its effects on the fire, sitting across from Arlo. It was warm, and the warmth lulled him into a relaxed state, a state where his mind drifted to the past. He shivered even with the warmth pressing against his pelt, small blossoms of yellow roses peering through the foliage upon his shoulders and forelegs, tiny sprigs of begonia appearing among the slow-growing blossoms, his eyes focused on the deepest part of the bonfire.
Ground disappearing under his paws, blood trickling into his eyes and down his hip, wounds sliced into his hips. The ground disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared, something bigger and taller than him closing in on him, his ears pinning back in fear. He was scared, so scared. Something was holding him, and the ground was back, dropped to the bloody terrain, paws scrambling before they were knocked from under him and he was on his back, a scream of anguish cut into shreds as claws came across his throat, ending his hope of screaming for help. Stirring from the dark memories, the tom wrapped his tail about his paws tightly as he ruffled his pelt out in an attempt to comfort himself, pawing at a piece of wood that hadn't yet been sent into the fire. Picking it up, he directed the small piece of wood into the fire, feeling the heat upon his pads, nose wrinkling at the strange feeling. Could he step into it? No. He didn't want to be scolded for stupidity. He wasn't a Grim anymore. space
Re: dust and roses - bonfire - CLEOPATRA THEMA. - 03-12-2021 Re: dust and roses - bonfire - DAMION MAVERICK - 03-13-2021 The hellhound lumbered over, his muscles propelling him forwards, a grimace on his lips. The guard had a limp from a recent skirmish that he had won, leaving the other a steaming pile of death and rot and smell. The male stopped next to Arlo, greeting him with a dip of his head before sitting down and facing the fire, the glow reflecting in his empty sockets. Fire seemed to bring back memories, moreso bad ones than good, and it didn't seem to affect him at all. He watched sparks fly as another log was tossed into it by a tom bearing scars, and tilted his head in curiosity as a feline padded over, a large coat draping her features. Only a glance was spared, however, before the beast returned his attention to the fire. Re: dust and roses - bonfire - SirDio - 03-13-2021 LORELEI ARGENTIA - Female - Red Fox - The Golden Eye
Lorelei sauntered over to the fire with a grin on her face and a shine in her blue eye. Giving everyone a nod she sat down, rather close to the fire with a wolf skull and tins of paint with her. Dipping her paw into some red she started to give the skull 'blush', stopping every now and then. She stole glances to Damion only a few times, more over in the utter curiosity of his form than anything else. "Yes, the warmth is nice. Provides good lighting, too!" She chirped, holding the skull to the light to see how it looked. Re: dust and roses - bonfire - DAMION MAVERICK - 03-14-2021 SPEECH - THOUGHTS - ACTION
