PINK ELEPHANTS ☆ palm glades - WINTERHYMNS P. - 03-06-2021

And finally, it was time for Palm Glades only ally. He was tired from all this traveling but he had stopped a few times to rest considering that he didn't want to end up overworking himself when he just started leading Palm Glades, an amused snort leaving him at that thought alone as he found himself slowly approaching the railroad tracks not having much of a care in the world even if he was anxious about meeting everyone here. Sure, he had somewhat met them before on different occasions but now he was legate and he had to do his best to set an example for not only himself but his group. He would set down the basket full of different goodies and herbs not realizing that there was a decapitated head hanging on the gate, he scrambled backwards for a moment and winced at the sight of how it was beginning to rot away slightly.

Well, the pirates were certainly... charming. He cleared his throat noticing the bell at the top, he couldn't quite reach from where he was and exhaustion made it difficult to where he couldn't shapeshift. So, he picked up a rock throwing it to the bell and listening to it sing out loudly, ah, how convenient that should get the attention of the pirates whilst he caught his breath. He sat down with a long breath leaving him, he tilted his head to the side before speaking out with a friendly grin "Hello there! I am Winterhymns Pendragon from Palm Glades,"

DEAR FRIEND as you know,  your flowers are withering
your mother's gone insane, your leaves have drifted away.
but the clouds are clearing up
and i've come reveling, burning incandescently,
like a bastard on the burning sea.

YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER,
BURIED DEEP UNDER THE WATER.
Ironic he'd make it just after the tigress had began preparations for an event they'd be invited to. The tigress had recently exited the tavern, Derya on her shoulder, when she'd heard the bell ring out quite loudly, as if hit with force. It would cause her ears to swivel, and body to pause, unsure if that was a good ring or a bad one. She opted to move a bit closer with caution, however would immediately lose that hesitance when she heard the voice call out. She thought she'd smelled Palm Glades, but was still a bit unfamiliar with the different scents of the groups, but the male's name had proven he was family to her girlfriend and from their ally. So, she'd put her best face on and move closer with a small bounce in her step. She wanted to make a good impression, after all.

"Oh, you're a Pendragon? Is' lovely t' meet you," she'd greet with a smile first and foremost, a small nod of her head offered. She wondered what the purpose of the visit was - perhaps he was going to also join in on learning about herbs from them, or he had good news, or his own event, or maybe he simply was just saying hello. "I'm, um...well-acquainted with Sophiea." She'd explain briefly, holding the friendly smile on her features. If the other wasn't close to Sophiea, well, then maybe her words would mean little. But the feline had been one who seemed quite fond of her family, even if she didn't always show it, so she doubts the name would cause any sort of confusion. "M' name is Goldenluxury Roux, or jus' Goldie. What brings you here today?"

The bell certainly rang loudly.  The tiny dealer's ears perked.  Sightless hues blinking.  It was hardly the first time the clang hit the ears so harshly.  But curious.  Trotting after Goldie, the petite wildcat came to a halt, a polite smile on her face as she recognized Winterhymns as an ally.

"Aloha," she offered softly, head dipping in greeting.  "How are the Palm Glades?" She inquired lightly.  They were allies after all, and it would be good to hear the latest news.

MARIANAS
NYSTRÖM!

Normally she never went out of her way to meet knew people. It was just scary given her condition and she didn't want them to laugh. She could very well tell that that it was all in her head and she would be fine but still. Normally she hung out with Torsten and he was really nice to her. Playing with him was super fun and she really had a blast when they were together. Still, she had smelled something strange and she wanted to see who it was.  She was having a good day to day, especially with exploring and this was just a news challenge. If she could do the iconic fist and blazing challenge accepted eyes she would have. She got this. Stumbling forward she would approach but slow down when she realized it was a whole group. Well...three people but to her it was a whole group! Her nose twitched as she tilted her head a little. What was all of this about anyway? That guy smelled weird. Funny. It was almost like the Typhoon but kinda not. Hmmmm, this needed more investigation.

So she crawled forward slowly, hoping to not be detected but really there was nowhere to hide. This was all out in the open. Some spy she would be. Sighing she pushed herself to stand and she moved forward, her smile a little strained. She sat down and curled her tail around her paws to look at the guy. Merely wondering where he even came from. She had missed that part. It was rude to stare but she couldn't help it. Shuffling her paws and trying her hardest to behave she would finally speak up. "Hi, mister. I'm Marianas." She began before she realized the rank smell and the head that hung on the gate. A small squeak left her and she chattered her jaws suddenly before she forced that to stop. Just ignore it. Just ignore it. Pretend it's just drying meat yeah! Quickly she averted her gaze, the beta feeling kinda sick before she motioned to the basket finding more curious options there. "What's all that for? Can I have it?" Did she mean the whole thing? Oh absolutely!

Winterhymns Pendragon. While the first name wasn't familiar to Roan, the last name certainly was. First Sophiea, then that Morrison guy that had shown up a few days ago, and presumably there were a few in Tanglewood as well. The family certainly did seem to be a large one, and the soothsayer found himself wondering if they even rivaled the Roux family. However, he wasn't sure anyone could rival his own lineage, considering he had not only the massive Roux family on one side, but the Ó Faoláin family on the other. It was pretty funny to see how wildly the Pendragons differed, though. Sophiea was grumpy and... very British, Morrison seemed to be a crass old man, and now there was Winterhymns. Who seemed... nice, at least based off of first impressions. And Roan tended to hold first impressions pretty highly.

While he wasn't usually the diplomatic type, Win had brought with him a bunch of herbs, and Goldie was there... so he figured he might as well head over. Coming up beside Marianas, he looked down at the large and fluffy girl before raising a paw to ruffle the fluff on top of her head. His voice was surprisingly calm and amused as he spoke, "Unless you're planning on becoming my third apprentice, I'm fairly sure the herbs aren't for you." Not that he'd be opposed to a third apprentice. Teaching was actually rather enjoyable, as he had figured out. Or maybe it was only so enjoyable because his students were family – he honestly wasn't quite sure.

Either way, his attention was soon turned towards Winterhymns himself, a soft hum of thought leaving the medic's throat. As he tilted his head to one side, Roan questioned casually, "You aren't here because the Glades needs more medical training, are you? Cause if you are, I'm wondering how you guys make your medics drop like flies." His tone was one of tiredness and joking, for the most part. He mainly just wanted to lighten the mood a little, since he couldn't imagine that Win had brought good news with him. If all was well, then why was this new member here, instead of the old legate, Rhinestone? Perhaps he was just overthinking it, and Win had simply decided to visit for personal reasons.

Re: PINK ELEPHANTS ☆ palm glades - WINTERHYMNS P. - 03-07-2021

The first to approach him was a golden tigress and she definitely caught his attention, his lavender gaze being watchful unable to be amused by the small bounce in her step yet when she mentioned him being a Pendragon, that had been enough to make him snort quietly doing his best not to chuckle. It seemed that his family was making themselves rather known around the groups, he didn't mind it in the slightest but it was rather funny to say the least being recognized by your surname alone than who you were. "Why yes, I am a Pendragon. It seems that we are well known around these parts and this is the first time that I come over to the Typhoon." He purred quietly deciding that he would muster up the last of his energy to spend time with his ally for a bit, his pupils widened slightly at the mention of his cousin, Sophiea Pendragon, and he inwardly winced hoping that his more standoffish cousin hadn't snapped at anyone within these parts. Sophiea tended to be rather verbal and known about her opinions but the expression that Goldie offered after mentioning his cousin made him curious.

"Do you now? Well, I hope that she is kind to you. I know how my cousin can be rather... Standoffish to some people," He decided to say in response still holding that small smile on his maw before the tigress finally introduced herself as Goldenluxury Roux. Ah, what a fitting name. "And may I say... It is an absolute pleasure to meet you, Goldie." When she inquired why he was there, he cleared his throat briefly as he said with a slow nod "It has been a while since the Typhoon has gotten a visit from Palm Glades, I wished to know how you were all faring. As well as introducing myself properly seeing that I am the new legate of Palm Glades, it is rather unfortunate but... Rhinestonestar has gone missing. If you have seen her, I would've liked to know thus another reason I came here today." He said at last with a slow nod, a gentle but tired smile present on his maw as he finished speaking.

Turning his gaze over to Keona, he twitched his whiskers as he returned her greeting "Aloha," When she inquired on how Palm Glades was, he felt his smile faltering slightly. Well, the former legate was gone now... He supposed that he was doing a decent job in keeping the boat from rocking violently side to side. "We are all well, I'm sure that we're still adjusting to the recent changes. I certainly am... It is odd to go from medicis legionis then legate within a small span of days really." Suddenly, someone younger approached the small group only to feel sympathy for her when she got startled by the decapitated head that hung from the gates. It was a rather gruesome thing to stare upon when you arrived at the gates of your ally but it wasn't like Winterhyms was here to berate the captain of her... Decoration choices. "Why hello there, Marianas. I am Winterhymns but feel free to call me Winnie." The legate said with a warm smile stretched across his muzzle only to hear her asking if she could have the gift basket "Well, some of it has to go to the rest of your groupmates... But help yourself to a cookie or two, I baked them myself."

Winnie shifted his posture a bit when Roan decided to join them, his folded ears perking up slightly at the sight of the other only to snort lightly to what he said about their medics and needing medical training. "Of course not, I do not wish to pester my ally frequently and you are all busy. Despite my newer duties as legate, I'm still training my apprentice everything she needs to know about being a medici."

His confirmation towards him being a Pendragon and the fact they seemed to be known would be something the female could relate to, even if she didn't go out enough to have it be as much as in her face. The Roux family from what she's known has been around as long as the Typhoon, which meant it was old, and it was most certainly popular. That was alright though, the female enjoyed family. It was important. And she would think this own interaction to be just as important, seeing as this was family of her girlfriend, of whom he now seemed to be bringing up himself. "She is like the mos' lovely flower, but even better." The tigress would confirm lightly, resisting the urge to babble on about the woman. That wasn't the point of the visit, and she wasn't certain how Winter would react to hearing of their relationship, even if he seemed quite nice. If he was protective of her, then he may be quick to judge the tigress. She wasn't sure she wanted to deal with the potential awkwardness of that. Still, he certainly seemed friendly and she would remain casual despite the slight anxieties from her own head. She still wanted to make a good impression.

Her attention would shift ever so slightly though, as more arrive, and give off their comments. She'd chuckle at Marianas asking to have what Winterhymns brought, and turn to be more business as the male began to respond to their questionings of why he was here. Roan's own concern over them needing more medical assistance had crossed her mind as well, though she hadn't said it out loud. If they needed help, she was sure they'd be more than willing to give it. But, it seemed that the news was not particularly good. Rhinestonestar was missing, and Winterhymns has stepped up in her place. That was a shame, and she'd find a slight anxiety pricking at her when he mentions it. She could only hope the other was safe. Was there something or someone that'd made her disappear? She'd cast a silent glance in worry towards Roan, to try and communicate her concern for their ally and their own safety.

She clears her throat as she prepares her next set of words, wondering what she should say to all of that. "Um, well, I...wish you luck. Wit' leadin', I mean." The tigress would start off with, offering a small nod towards the other. "We are here t' help, n' should you need any, jus' ask." Perhaps it wasn't her place to offer such a thing, but she didn't think she'd get in trouble for saying it. They were supposed to be there for one another as allies, after all. "You seem like a good fella, Winterhymns, n' it's lovely t' meet you. Do you need anythin' before your journey back?"

Ah, so it didn't seem as though the other was interested in more training. That was good, but the rest of the news that he had brought with him wasn't. The soothsayer's expression darkened temporarily, a small frown pulling at his muzzle. Although he had never really known Rhinestonestar well, it was never all that good to have a leader just disappear. In the back of his mind, the siamese found himself wondering if the Coalition had been involved somehow. After all, the enemy group had been infamously furious with the Glades following their betrayal. Rhine in particular had seemed to have a massive target on her head, considering she was the one who had given the battle orders. However, Roan wouldn't voice these thoughts, at least for now. Win hadn't mentioned there being any sign of the Coalition's presence. And if there had been, the draconic feline was sure that Winterhymns would want to warn them about any potential danger.

Realizing that he had been silent for quite a while, Roan blinked his bright blue gaze before dipping his head in Win's direction. His words were soft as he spoke up, mind wandering to his own pair of apprentices – one of whom was standing right nearby, "Ah... that's good to hear, then. Just make sure that you don't burn yourself out trying to juggle your new duties as a leader and as a teacher of medicine. Don't be afraid to take breaks... that was something I needed to learn." He averted his gaze temporarily, his thoughts drifting back for a moment. While the soothsayer did still occasionally struggle with feeling stressed and overwhelmed with his medical job, it wasn't nearly to the extent that it had been before. That was mainly due to the help of his friends and family, particularly his mama, and Goldie. He hoped that Winterhymns had a similar support system, so that he wouldn't throw himself into his work too deeply. Even the strongest among them could break under the pressure of too much, and Roan didn't want that to happen to Win, considering he seemed like a good person. It was the same worry that the medic held for his mama, ever since she had stepped up to Goldie's old position.

Once again, though, his attention was drifting. Best not to get caught up in his own anxieties when there was still an ally to worry about standing in front of them. Briefly shaking his head from side to side, the siamese added, "Like Goldie said... I wish you luck in leading your group, for however long you may have to. I know that leadership can be a lot of responsibility but... you seem like you're a good person. I'm sure the Glades is lucky to have you." He wasn't usually so kind to someone who was virtually a stranger, but... Winterhymns seemed like a reasonable man. He also seemed like a good one, and that was really enough for Roan when it came to those he didn't see all that often. Perhaps his opinion would change if he was around Win all the time, but he doubted that would happen anytime soon. Not unless something drastic happened, that ended up pushing one group onto the other's territory for shelter and safety. Needless to say, he hoped that nothing like that would happen anytime soon.

At the mention of the other needing anything from Goldie, the soothsayer let out a brief snort before nodding. Pulling his satchel closer to himself, saying to Winterhymns as he tilted his head to one side, "If you'd like some traveling herbs before you head back to your own territory, I can provide you with some. We've got plenty now that the weather has started to change." For once, Roan wasn't lying in order to spare the other's feelings. The coming of Spring had indeed started to kickstart herb growth again. He was sure that soon his herb garden would be overflowing again – something he was very much looking forward to. After all, he never liked having his stores be low.
