ALL TO CONDEMN ME,
MY FACE IS STILL PROUD!
The entire mess with Maze nearly becoming the next Icarus was going to be forever fresh in the girls mind. Without a medicius or Medicius Legionis they could be in big trouble and the child found herself interested in the way she could possibly learn. And as she entered the old medicine den, the air felt safe and she could breath easily. "Okay.. let's sort on what's still good.. when Rhine goes for medicine training I can go as well." She spoke to no one in particular. She couldn't recognize the herbs but she could bunch them up with the same leaf shape or look.

Humming gently, she began to sort out the herbs in clumps, aware of Cire speaking to her but ignoring the invisible wolf. She was her own person and no fate was gonna change that. The group needed someone versed in medicine, even if it was just a kid.

After a while she had clumped up several herbs into several bunches, and the sunlight peeked into the den as afternoon approached. Her stomach rumbled and she blinked. "How.. how long was I here..?" She walked into the den in the morning, she remembered that..

WITH EVERY STORY COMES A STALEMATE
Unlike Ares, the whole incident with Mazekit hadn't encouraged Shieldkit to try and be more useful. Instead, it had just filled the kit with a sense of dread, making it difficult for the formerly lazy boy to sleep at any time. He couldn't even nap anymore, finding that whenever he closed his eyes, all he saw was Maze's limp body hugged against Win's chest, and felt the tears that had once stung his eyes. Even sleeping at night no longer seemed to be a possibility, his green gaze simply staring blankly at the wall as he tried desperately to doze off. He didn't feel as though he could be useful in any way, considering the entire world just seemed fuzzy around him. The longer he went without any form of shut-eye, the fuzzier and more vague it became, with nothing around him truly making an impact. It was an unpleasant feeling, and one that made Eld feel sick.

Perhaps that was why Shieldkit had felt drawn towards the medicine den, the old dug out cavern having gone unused for some time. He had mostly been fascinated by the new smells, the scent of old herbs re-emerging as they were shifted around and sorted by Ares. Shaky steps led the kit inside, his tail flicking behind him as he looked over Ares, noting how she seemed tired - even if she hadn't realized it until now. The rumbling from her stomach caused him to let out a soft laugh, muttering as he sat down in the den's doorway, "I... I don't know when exactly you came in here, really, but I haven't seen you all day. Did you really lose track of time since... this morning...?" He couldn't imagine doing that, even if he was playing with his miniature skateboards. Then again, he usually got interrupted by his siblings eventually, so he never really had a chance to lose track of time.

Re: Tardigrade Song - Herb sorting - Onyxdreams - 02-27-2021

~ ☼ When it came down to herbs and medicinals of any kind, Onyx would admit that she had absolutely no idea what any of the stuff did. In fact, she really didn't know much about this kind of medicine stuff in general, aside from the really obvious stuff, like poppy seeds being for pain, or cobwebs to stop some bleeding. She had never really been all that interested in learning any of that stuff either, after all they had always had Vaas to patch everyone up if they got hurt. Now that he was gone though, the issue of not having anyone who was really trained for this kind of thing became glaringly obvious, especially after what had happened with Mazekit. So...even if she didn't really know the first thing about being a medic, maybe it wouldn't hurt to learn a thing or two about how to fix someone up if they got hurt.

Passing by the now much less active medical den, the discens was more than a little surprised when she heard a voice from inside. It was a bit more surprising when she remembered that she herself had seen Ares go in there early in the morning after she had woken up...but had never seen her leave. Stepping inside the den herself, it was shocking to see the amount of organizing and cleaning up that had been done, the place was actually looking like...well, a real medicine den now! "Ohhh wow, this place is looking good now!" she chimed in, stepping past Shieldkit as she gazed around at the now sorted clumps of herbs, which she still had no idea what they were called or even used for. When the question of just how long Ares had been in here came up, and Shield stated that he didn't know exactly how long himself, the hybrid was quick to raise a wing to try and catch their attention. "Oh, oh! I know! I saw you come in here this morning when I was getting up, have you really been in here all day? Man it's no wonder you're hungry, I mean I woulda got a snack at least once or twice, but.....nothing since this morning? Yikes..."
