[ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - daniel - 02-16-2021 The storm that kept him hiding inside the tavern had long since passed, by a day or two in fact. Or maybe a few days, he wasn't actually all that sure. But one thing was for certain, and that was the kid had to follow up with what he set out to do before getting rained in. He had to find where his mom had gone.
Danny had taken his sweet time making it out towards the same beach he'd bolted down, finding it much prettier and less threatening when the waves weren't dark and rolling like something was thrashing beneath, and the sun warmed sands were a definitely improvement from the solid, cold and wet sand from before. He got distracted by more than one thing for sure, between sea shells with dazzling colors to tiny little crabs that ran away from his steps. He knew better than to go sticking his face near something that had little pinchers, so he didn't, but they were still funny to look at, a tiny one in particular earning a childish giggle out of him. Even the ocean caught his attention, gently reaching out one dark paw to splash at the shallow water lapping the shore, leaving behind sea foam to shake off. One cautious step became two, then a bouncy little baby splashing about in the surf, breaking apart little shallow waves before they could lie against the shoreline. Danny let out a little puppy howl, waiting if a reply would be received. Nothing hit his ears, and he tried again a little louder. Still nothing. [glow=black,2,300]— ❤ —[/glow]

Although it hadn't been Aphra that abandoned her this time, Vayne did sort of relate to Danny. What actually happened is that Vayne had escaped a toxic environment with her mother, and when her mother came to get her and bring her 'home', members of The Typhoon prevented Vayne from going, saying that this was her home. And they weren't wrong! Powered by her crewmates, Vayne decided to stand up to Aphra, but after that moment had passed, the young she-cat was starting to regret it. Honestly, Vayne should be more careful in being on the beach on her own, especially with the looming threat of Aphra (at least, a looming threat in Vayne's mind), but the girl found comfort in the sound of crashing waves. Oh, and seashells... she liked collecting shells. That's what she was doing when she heard Danny's howl and she whipped around, her fur fluffed out in surprise. She blinked, searching for who had made the noise, and saw Danny just as he unleashed another one. "H-hey!" Vayne tried to call out to him over the waves, walking towards him so she would be able to hear him herself. "I don't think I've seen you around here before. What's your name?" A small pause before she continued, "My name is Vayne." The sound Danny had made was a pitiful one, one that sounded like despair, though Vayne wasn't sure if he was actually upset or if it just sounded that way. "What was that noise you made? Are you okay?"[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: [ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - Keona. - 02-17-2021

Petite paws resting where the water kissed the sand. Listening. Feeling the rhythm. When she sought a moment for her thoughts, the shore only naturally became her destination.

Only rather than finding her thoughts, her ears perked at the sound of Dany's howl. A call. The petite dealer hummed softly before turning towards the sound, trotting over. Dany's initial arrival had been very spontaneous and rushed. An escape from rough weather. Was he simply practicing his wolf howl or... Calling for someone? The fae was no wolf herself, but many in her family were fond of their dire wolf forms. She knew that howls were a method of communication. Of finding one another. Was Dany lost after all? Keona frowned thoughtfully, dipping her head lightly as she came to a halt. Her pale sea-green hues flickered. "Are you practicing a howl?" She hoped that was it. She hoped it was practice. Because who knew if they could help him find who he was looking for otherwise? The weather had been unkind that night. Still. They could certainly try. If that was the case. Even if might not be easy. © MADI Re: [ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - daniel - 02-17-2021 He'd been ready to try a third time, third time's the charm after all, when someone else's voice stopped him. The wolf pup turned his head, eyes laying on not one but two other people, one of which he remembered seeing when he showed up so abruptly. The abundance of sunlight made for a much better time to socialize, and while the initial fear was no longer there, he still shifted his weight shyly at being both heard and having to respond. "I haven't been here long. M'name's Danny." He didn't think he needed to explain that he sorta...broke in. The world's least intimidating intruder, although stowaway might fit better considering the general aesthetic of the place. He offered her a small smile in greeting, trying to be as polite as his awkward demeanor would allow. He tilted his head, enamored by the light colors of her fur, thinking he had seen something that looked enough like her. He paced around for a moment, before nosing a nearby conch shell forward towards the girl. It had seen better days, a little cracked and smoothed out by the constant tide, but the point was the swirls of cream and white looked enough like the beta, at least to him. "You look like the shell!"
As the question of his howling came up, Danny looked over his shoulder down the shoreline. "Can't find mama, don't wanna go too far alone. Seeing if she can hear me." He stepped on a tiny wave that passed over his legs, splashing a little bit of the resulting foam onto his chest. Keona and Vayne must have both been over here because of him, right? His ears lowered in remorse. "Was I too loud?" [glow=black,2,300]— ❤ —[/glow]

He knew the unknown, the quiet period of introspection and wonder, sought the one lacking. Rare the conclusion proved kind, the taken often lost, a ghost gently woven into fickle memories. None of this known, how his beginning acted a rather uncanny mirror of that the lupine youth currently was caught within, a stranger for all intent and purposes. Similar their time of frame in finding a place among the populace of the archipelago, unknown the foul weather though evidence still apparent. Debris swept aside, performed time beyond count such, cleaned paths beckoning him forth. There was no destination within his mind, the simple escape of momentum, thoughts a swirling vortex encircling the possibilities shrouded in doubt, enough to soothe frayed nerves. End must always occur, however, broken the air with a vocalisation it took to well, stretched and warped the unpractised sound. Brief his halt, began again his slow steps as another arose in the wake of the first, curiosity peaked. Pleasant enough the scene Harland intruded upon, unknown each, though expected such for a stranger was he as well, small the smile curling his lips. "Better than not loud enough." Harsh still the low rasp of his voice, further roughened as he tried to raise it. Distant still was he from the trio, at times vision diverting, watched the manner the waves rolled in. "I'm sure we can find your mama." Softer grew his voice, the prior comment sitting poorly. Small the land the archipelago offered, locating a single person still a daunting task when so meagre the search party, the idea of finding others one he would not broach. And further issues apparent if her location might not be found here, too large the island beyond. All the same to dissuade such may cause other problems, appeasing the child within the forefront of his mind even as the likelihood of reconnection seemed rather slim. Vayne had no reason to ask when or why Danny had joined, considering he was just another member of The Typhoon for her. For all that she knew, he could have been born here and she just never met him.. Who knows? The she-cat opened her mouth to respond to Danny introducing himself, before the pup went off looking for something. When he returned with a shell, Vayne's eyes lit up. "I do! It's so pretty!!"" She squeaked, taking the shell gently in her paws and examining it while Danny started talking to her crewmates. Vayne frowned upon hearing that he was looking for his momma. In a way, she could relate, but then again, it had been her choice in leaving Aphra for The Typhoon. Not to mention, being here was so much more free than being with Aphra, something that Vayne didn't really want to give up. She didn't like the tight atmosphere she felt whenever she lived with Aphra. "You weren't too loud." Vayne tried to reassure him. She didn't say anything about finding his mother, though, seeing as she couldn't entirely relate to wanting to 'find' her own. Fortunately Harland said something; maybe they would be able to find Danny's mom, who knows?[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: [ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - roan ; - 02-18-2021 「 BUT NOW THESE DAYS ARE GONE, I'M NOT SO SELF ASSURED 」

Even if the call of the young canine didn't necessarily sound pained, Roan had learned a long time ago not to take chances. So, once he had thrown his satchel full of herbs over his waist, the siamese turned and headed out of the temple, his wings spreading. He had been trying not to fly too much lately, given the fact that his pregnancy was starting to show quite a bit, and he felt significantly heavier. However, this could've been a serious incident, and the medic didn't want to make it wait just because he couldn't fly. As a result, it wasn't long before Roan landed nearby, his dark paws sinking into the sand as he surveyed the situation at hand. Thankfully, it didn't seem as though he had really needed to rush, considering Danny didn't have any obvious signs of an injury.
As a result of this, the soothsayer took his time making it the rest of the way over, eventually coming to sit near Keona. Ears perked, the feline caught the last bits of what Danny had to say about his mother, as well as Harland's words. With a soft hum leaving him, Roan questioned in a neutral, but caring voice, "When's the last time you saw your mom, kid? Do you have any idea where the two of you got separated?" They didn't exactly have a lot to go on regarding Danny's past, at least as far as the medic knew. Perhaps if the little one could tell them just a little bit about how he and his mother got separated... then they could help out and reunite the pair. Danny was obviously welcome to remain within The Typhoon if he needed to, but Roan was sure he'd be happier to be back with his mom. The soothsayer certainly would've missed his mama terribly if he and Roxanne suddenly got separated.

Re: [ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - Keona. - 02-18-2021

"Howl's are meant to be heard," she pointed out gently. "So, I'd say you're doing good." But perhaps not loud enough to cross through the same distance as a full-grown wolf's... Which meant they didn't have a guarantee the mother heard...

The wildcat hummed softly in thought, nodding as Roan spoke. A place to start. Even find a trail... Though the lingering memory of the storm Dany arrived during kept the dealer slightly on edge. The rain had a habit of washing away tracks. The ocean too. In rough weather. But it was something. If Keona had a mother to search for... She'd want to try. © MADI Re: [ kisses of the sun ] - open; intro - daniel - 02-19-2021 Vayne's squeaky response to the shell gift was more than positive, causing the kid to wag his tail excitedly. He thought he did pretty well with the choice, and she seemed to like it. He liked Vayne immediately, she seemed nice. He'd been worried there for a moment, thinking too late that maybe he would come off as strange right away, he didn't know. Thankfully that was not the case, and any doubts or worries ebbed away.
Everyone seemed to have the same question on their mind, right after reassuring him that he wasn't too loud, but at the same time right that he had to have been howling for a reason. And he was, indeed. Danny looked up at Harland first, blinking once then nodding with a tiny smile. Even if in reality, the chance was slim, maybe even slim to none, he didn't know that. He didn't have to know that. If reality caught up with him, he could face it later. Danny frowned slightly, trying to remember. Where had he and his mom gotten separated. She wasn't there on the beach, he would have known. He thought he had even heard her behind him before he ran with the coast. Where was he before then? It was all such a blur, but something in the back of his mind told him to look beyond the gathered group trying to help, so he did. As if gently pulled by something, the wolf pup stepped out from the surf and some steps forward, looking left and right before turning his head over his shoulder. "Jungle." He responded, innocently enough as if he had not just mentioned arguably the most dangerous part of the archipelago. That would at least explain why he hadn't taken the railroad, maybe.
