THE POWER OF PAIN || NINAZU'S FUNERAL - rhosmari - 02-14-2021

The night had come, the cold chill of the air as torches were lit along a singular path. She had not predicted that this day would come. That her father would die in battle and she would be sitting there as her mother gave a long winded speech about what would happen to the Coalition now. A new age they were promise. But that had all been a lie, hadn't it? The talk was just that. Talk. Her mother had prettied up the words only for them to be meaningless in the end because she had decided to leave them too. Abandoned them because deep down she hadn't had any real faith in the Coalition. Pelting them with flaming coconuts, the visage of fake friendships being created. It had meant nothing and now...here she stood. A daughter left to her ruin. In her place, a princess of solitude. Holding her own mother's supposed funeral. It had to be done, but she would not weep. She was done shedding tears over and over again. Breaking her heart and her soul for others that she suddenly felt didn't care about her.

Family. She had begun to wonder if it really mattered at all. Slowly she took a deep breath, the heat expelled leaving behind a white cloud in the frigid night air. Everyone knew what the torches meant when they were lit. A time to pay respects to the dead and gone. The lioness was cloaked in a dark grey bear skin. It dragged the ground as she left her home, following the path that led to the Starpool. It was here that the pyre had been set. The sky had clouded over, no light remaining but the torches that marked the path. The pool reflected that light and they could all see it. The way that Ninazu's snow leopard body was strung up. It was not a flattering look but what did the new Kingpin care. Her body was not her. Just a representation. An empty shell. It would burn this night to help the people get over her presumed death. Then she could get out of the cold and back into her home. Looking at the body now she had questions dripping on the tip of her tongue but she held herself back. She could scream later.

Turning to face those that had gathered with her she sighed shortly. She had no fancy words to day. This was all a disappointment. "Well, we all knew this was coming when my brother and I found the body. Promises have been broken. But we honor our dead I suppose. She was fun while she was here. Ninazu will be missed. Say what you need to, your memories, your goodbyes." Nothing long winded. She didn't need it. She didn't want it. She couldn't bare it. The blue toned lioness turned and simply sighed a frost laden breath which herald the setting of the pyre and it went up in blue flames. Consuming the body of the former Kingpin.
