( can we pretend we were kids again / lovefool ) - Grimm - 01-23-2021

[div style="margin: auto; max-width: 475px; padding: 5%; min-height: 20px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 17px;"]Rather small the time he had allotted for pondering over the possible outcomes that could be derived from his self given task. Well, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, the notion seemed to not have even crossed his mind in the time it was brought to fruition. And there lay the issue - Foam rarely devoted time to think over things.

A by-product of his youth, common such manner of sweeping it aside without proper addressal, a behaviour he simply needed to grow out of. Yet there was no sign such was possible, his impatience merely fed by impulses he acted upon without aid of secondary thought, instant gratification grew into his primary goal. Maybe such was why he was here on the western shoreline, far from the home he had grown comfortable within, taken as death grew abundant and took with abandon. There was no comfort left in those sand laced shores, in memories he held as the vessels pretending to be those he loved paraded about in their places, sought somewhere else when his outlet ran dry.

Lovefool.

Poor the fit of the name against his tongue, unfitting of the child he once met when his own expedition had been conducted, pride his reasoning, yet taken as humanity slowly became apparent. Grievous his slight when first met, repaired with shared swipes of paint, berries smothered beneath honey, a treasure hunt that did not come to the desired outcome. Large his heart, indeed, befitting the title of love, though the exact reasoning was much more simple, but a fool he was not.

That Foam may hold, a fool following emotions he could not name. He had thought the queasy tumble of his stomach may cease when the supposed cause was located, the opposite held true. Few the times they were able to speak, though a guest still was he unannounced and his purpose undisclosed, rather natural the unease when he was allowed free roam as such, and it seemed close eye was also kept on Lovefool. At the least his removal from the temple limited his own baby sitters, something both healers were likely grateful for as well as his entrance was barred without proper reasoning. Bolstered his spirits by such, the late morning seeing the feline leave behind the stone structure.

Limited his choices, however, his lack of knowledge of both the area and the inhabitants enough of a deterrent. Skirted the more populated areas, few those who broke away and were open in their study, conversation at times shifting, though the exact thoughts they bore on him lost as his pace quickened. Behind it all fell, relief a soothing balm to fraying nerves as the smooth paths found replacement in loose grains, curled and buried deep his toes, crooked the smile he bore as focused on only the sensation. Different, though such an expectation he knew best to hold, all of it unlike the images he had conjured with only the assistance of what little Lovefool had indulged. With his eyes closed, face lifted with the salt laden breeze heavy in his nose, and the ocean a dull drone drowning out all else he could pretend everything was as it should have been.
