Pushing from her nest as the sun became to crest the tree tops the owl took flight. It was odd for her to change her sleeping patterns so much and she was used to sleeping during the day but there seemed to be more going on when the sun was high. So she found herself awake during daylight hours. Her stomach groaned and growled her hunger and she sighed softly. They didn't want her trespassing so to speak and stealing their food. Well, they would have to get over themselves. She wasn't about to starve when there was avaliable food in the area. As she left the island she had decided to make her home she scanned over the ocean, listening and watching the waters. She had never tried to fish before and the idea of trying was intriguing but she felt like it would be fruitless. Still perhaps she would try one day and the sea gave away to the land once more. The land of these pompous Four Legs. With an click of her beak she soared over the canopy, watching the Walkers with ease as they went about their day. She didn't know what they were doing nor did she find herself actually caring. Instead she turned her sharp gaze to the jungle. It was shore she sunk down lower into with a few strokes of her wings.

Leaves brushed her feathers and she angled herself around, taking the time to listen to her surroundings. It was then that her eyes sharply locked on her prey. A field mouse scurrying in the underbrush. Her metal clad talons curled slightly as she circled around and then she steeped her flight pattern into a dive. Talons reaching forward the sharp and longer metal claws scrapped as she hit her target and they sunk into the flesh of her kill. With heavy strokes and a powerful gust of wind she was back into the air just as quickly before she landed and hopped along the branch of the tree. The high pitched squeaking had been decimated with the hit of her claws and she looked down at the small vermin, tilting her head slightly. She could have killed it better but it would suffice.

The gust of the wind followed quickly by the squeal of vermin set the kitten on a new path. Alexandre's orange hues looked up into the canopy, spotting a white silhouette amongst the brown branches. Requiem. The feline had seen the owl a few times by now. The other were hostile towards her. He never understood why, as he was willfully ignorant to their complaints and more open-minded to the nature that laid within their lands. Nevertheless, his stomach turned as the bird's talons wrapped tightly around her prey. Pounding thumps of the vermin's blood stream echoed in his ears. Crimson blood dripped down onto the ground. He watched as the liquid cascaded to the floor below, only to hear the crackle of bones moments later and a limp mouse before his eyes. Dead.

Alexandre's gaze locked with the owl's craned head. Silence filled the area momentarily. He wasn't sure what to say. His tail lashed as thoughts swirled in his head, unconsciously parading closer by pure instinct. Claws locked into the tree bark as he reached the base of the tree. Before proceeding, the winged feline paused. "Can I come up?" he questioned curiously. Not like a 'no' would stop him though. "You're Requiem, right?" The smell of salt filled his nasal cavity. Nausea began to overtake his senses. Talking would keep him on his toes for now.

A sharp beak began to pierce through flesh and tear off stripes of bloodied meat to consume it in sharp clicks. Her pointed tongue swiped out to curl and pull the pieces into her mouth and she swallowed them with ease. Sometimes she would swallow her prey whole but the whole process of having to vomit back up the pellet of bones and fur was something she could do without for now. So she picked through her prey to get as much of the meat off before leaving the scraps and bones upon the forest ground. But a sound, clearly the sound of walking, caught her attention and she lifted her head up from her food to find herself watching a young Four Leg coming toward her. Odd, they normally left her alone, not squawking at her the nonsense of her trespassing and not belonging here. She still found them to be idiotic in their words and ignored them much of the time. None of them gave chance to try and stop her so she figured they were all talk and none of them had any bite to them. But this one was young, small and his request caught her off guard. He wanted to come up here to her branch. Feathers a little ruffled she would lightly hold the remains of the field mouse in her claws and drop it. The small remains didn't make a sound as they hit the ground as she tilted her head to the side lightly. ''You may.'' Her voice was strict, even before she walked along the branch to give the feline room.

Though when he spoke her name she would squint, eyes narrowing. That was one part of her name and one she had hardly give to most on this island. They never asked her her name, she didn't bother giving it. Unless they wished to be on even footing she expected to have one back. ''Correct. And what is your name, little Four Leg?'' She could humor the child for a little while, after all they didn't approach her as if they owned everything. It was entitled in her own opinion and she lifted a wing, eyes scanning over the feathers before she grabbed a small leaf from between the flight feathers and dropped it.

As the prey toppled to the ground, his gaze momentarily moved over towards the splayed out corpse. His jaw unhinged to comment. It closed instantly, recoiling at the scent wafting closer to him. With a soft sigh, he scrambled up the trunk instead. Claws latched into the branch to his right, lifting himself up and over towards the open spot. Alexandre scooted over further. He paused to catch his balance and secure his spot, promptly folding his wings once he was satisfied. "Thanks," he dully replied.

Orange eyes settled out on the horizon. Confirmation came quick. The rumors were true of the quiet owl that roamed the territory then. Alexandre thought it was such an elegant name for a beautiful creature. With a nod, he continues on. "My name is Alexandre-" His voice falls quiet, contemplating 'little four leg.' He thought he was pretty tall and four legs weren't too strange. "- feathered two leg." The kitten's weary orbs looked up at Requiem, offering a joking smirk in return, trying to calm their nerves (but mostly his).

Small talk. It wasn't his thing. The strict vibe she gave off made it seem like she wouldn't do much either, so the kitten phased into a less common topic. Rather a strange one even. It peaked his morbid curiosity. "How'd you do that-" His paw nonchalantly gestured down to the devoured corpse. "-so fast?" The crackle of bones and the decimated squeal of her prey was deafening, yet so swift and clean. Alexandre wasn't a fan of hunting. It made him feel oddly sick. Ending the deal quickly would comfort him and allow him to do his daily tasks more easily.

She was unsure of sharing the tree with someone that walked the ground but he seemed to be an amalgamation of fliers as well. Although it was odd for her to witness such creatures. Sharing the skies with them was not ideal given the circumstances. But she could handle herself. Her eyes narrowed though at the kid's words. His feathered two leg comment ruffling her feathers just a bit. "Just what are you getting at?" The avian spoke with cold and calculating words before she tilted her head slightly. She did not like being called that and she lifted a leg almost threatening as if she might actually do something. Though no further movement happened as his next question came forth and paused her motion. The question of how she was so effective at what she did. It took her mind off his words and place them in a better avenue. One that she could be proud of.

"Dedication and hard work. From my home we owls train diligently till we have perfected our attacks and hunting. I was also gifted with control over the air flow. So I'm faster than a normal owl should be." Harder to catch, more nimble. And she continued to train even now. There was always room. For improvement and as long as she continued working she at least had that. But the worry still ate at her. She was wasting time.
