Tiny paws slowly crept along with the early morning fog that hung around the forest around the territory, cautiously making their way out with what seemed to be an attempt to be quiet with such careful steps ending up being much louder than if they had simply walked around the suspended bridge without the extra effort tacked on. It’s not like it took terribly long to get to the towering greenhouse that housed all sorts of treasures for such a small creature. Large, blue eyes stared into the warm room while her body linked in carefully past the door before a small giggle escape her maw at her little adventure to the greenhouse without her mother close by.

At the same time though, the small direwolf trembled ever so slightly with each step she took to further explore the room and it’s many plants on her own without a clue as to what half of these things were. Wren’s body crept towards a small plants with little red vegetables hanging off of them that almost looked like a pointy witch hat if she tried to look at it upside down. But, it was a small splash coming from the fountain that kept the young pup from biting down onto the unknown food and sent her scrambling behind a group of tomato vines and their trellis. After a moment of silence besides the soft babble of the fountain that had produced the splash, she took a few steps from her hiding spot and back towards the door leading out of the until a sudden noise caused the wolf to whip around to it’s source.

Somehow, despite the cold weather...there was a frog sitting in the warm room and staring up blankly at her. Wren couldn’t move, her tail now tucked in between her legs as panic flooded her senses in that moment. She didn't know what to do or if it was some gross, poisonous frog that wanted to eat her for breakfast this morning and the child didn't want to bother finding out with a single wrong move. Instead, it was the frog that made the next move of hopping happily in her direction much to the little girl’s displeasure. A sharp yelp sounded as she ran around the greenhouse, scared of the frog still hoping after her with no idea of the chaos he was causing so early in the morning.

The greenhouse, perhaps, is where Savah was most comfortable with spending time in. Warm, quiet- save for the gentle burble of the fountain and croaks of frogs and insects- and, above all, empty of people. Her ears twitched and rotated, hearing the door open and close. Her head turned for a moment, the beanie-clad she blinking. She shook it off, however, knowing very well that other people did exist outside of those doors, and it wasn't as if she owned the greenhouse. A gentle huff left her as she tended specifically to a mint plant, eyeing the dirt about it's base.

That's when the wail arose within the greenhouse, the running and pattering of someone's paws, and the crying thereafter. Savah stiffened up, scrambling towards the source of all of the nose, her eyes quickly shifting between the child and the frog hopping 'after' her. Savah's ears flattened, and carefully she called to the child- "Don't scream! It's.. it's more afraid of you then you are of it!" Savah's paws reached out, stretching her smaller body and catching the frog. It squirmed in her paws, before freezing as she sat back against her haunches.

Sitting there, she observed the frog. She knew well it was less likely to be poisonous- for Ursa's sake, they lived in the mountains. A soft sigh left her muzzle, looking towards Wren before blinking gently. "How'd you get in here, anyways? Most people aren't up this early."

"savah's right, little one, it's more scared of you than you are of it, though you are pretty frightened.", she would murmur in a soft soothing voice, attempting to touch her nose to her daughter's head.

turning her attention back to savah, she gave a warm smile, "i'm not exactly sure why little wren would be here this early aside from the beauty that this place offers. i ah, i fell asleep here last night, looking after my lilies.", she would laugh in soft embarrassment, mind flashing back to the months ago that she had been gifted her seeds by her husband, one. flustered slightly, she shook herself with a rustle of her wings, settling back to a calm demeanor.

“Don’t scream-”

The pup turned to gawk and come to a sudden halt at the voice of Savah calling out to here, the frog bumping into her back before hopping back a bit and getting caught by the horned feline’s delicate paws. Wren didn’t even notice the frog much anymore as she was told it was more afraid of her than she was of it. She moved her body slightly to keep the rather unpleasant sight of her two sets of stunted, featherless wings and ducked her head down with embarrassment of being scared by such a small creature until she found that her own mother was also present in the greenhouse and now reaffirming the idea that this frog was not out for her flesh “Don’t they run if they think I’m scary?” The child whispered to her mother when the soft touch of her nose pressed against her head.

Wren watched as her mother spoke to Savah of not knowing why she had come her and decided that was her time to pipe up and explain herself. “Miss Savah, I like to taste the stuff that mama said is okay to eat! I don't take a lot. Just a tiny, tiny bit.” She emphasized her point as lifted her forepaws and almost closed them together as if to clap, but left a small space in between. “I like to uh, ....to look at the herbs too because mama says they help people and I wanna help people when I’m a big kid. A big, big kid like you and mama!” Her tail thumped against the ground with excitement the more and more she thought about being all grown up in the clan.

When Balala makes me a greenhorn, I hope my mentor teaches me more herb stuff instead of fighting stuff!”

chuckling softly as she listened, her mind drifting to memories of her first litter with her husband, so very long ago. their son would be the age to have started his own family, the poor child that he had been to see his mother fall at his grandfathers hands. shaking her head, she looked to the jagged scar running onto her underbelly from her flank with a dark look before exhaling and refocusing to the conversation. "well, when baalal talks to us about giving you a mentor, why don't you ask them for a mentor that knows a bit more about herbs darling?", she would murmur, having remained silent for the majority of the conversation. she had been teaching her daughter how to identify which plants and herbs were edible, that could be eaten, and the ones that would kill or seriously harm the one who tries to eat them.
