Keona Ní Faoláin — the blind dealer

Helpful.  Both Keona Ní Faolain and Natyli Roux shared a desire to be helpful.  Certainly in different ways.  But neither liked the thought of being useless.  Idle.  No good.  So the tiny dealer often found herself a rather eager helper, when she set to gathering everyone for little social events.  It was easier.  Meant she didn't have to talk as much.  And it was nice having someone who enjoyed making colorful signs too.

The duo had set up outside the tavern.  Gathered some drinks on a small table.  Snacks too.  Though the main point was clearly the long line drawn in the sand, a great deal of open space on either side.  As Keona felt the heat of the sun fade, they got to work on lighting the area up with some small lanterns and called it a day.  They were ready.

The signs had been clear.  If not a little too colorful.  But the message was made.  Keona was hosting another game night.  A well needed break for everyone.  Now that it was sundown, the appointed time marked on their signs, the tiny wildcat trotted up to the center line, with the much larger and excitable jaguar following suit.

"We're playin' This or That tonight!  Rules are simple... It's kind of like would you rather.  We'll be taking turns with who's makin' statements, 'an to whichever you agree with, you move to that side of the line." She twitched tail as she stepped back, knowing Natyli would want to go first.  She hummed softly as she did so, supposing she didn't entirely mind games like this.

The draconic jaguar grinned widely as she took over, mitch-matched hues ablaze in the dim light.  "First part of the statement, you go right.  Second part, left. Whichever you agree most with.  Aaand uh... They can be about anything!  So when it's your turn feel free to say whatever!"

"I'm gonna start simple though.  Chocolate," she gestured a wing to the right side.  "Or vanilla!" A gesture to the left.  "Oh, and you can stand in the middle if you like both."  She did.

"keona" "natyli"
come and fly away with me!

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]SALEM | The prospect of a 'game night' is wearisome.  The dark-furred wildcat knew it would be a good method of stress relief for the crew but Salem himself had always lingered away from larger social events -- finding crowds too overwhelming for him more often than not.  Yet the thought of ignoring a friend's hard work was more irksome; a friend who, like himself, preferred quiet and solitude.

The game sounds simple enough too, as he padded over, dark eyes lingering on Keona.  Simply move one way or the other depending on opinion.  It was, he noted, a fun and clever way of learning about one's clanmates and their preferences.

Since he was determined to participate, the kodkod quietly made his way over to the right side of the line; deciding that while he enjoyed both, hot chocolate was one of his favorite drinks.  Hot vanilla simply sounded strange.

Truthfully, Keona and Michael tended to fulfill two different sides of the dealer "coin," as it were. While the thief did occasionally set up social events for others to enjoy, he had always excelled more in the espionage side of things. He knew how to get things for The Typhoon, whether they be physical things, or things like information. Meanwhile, Keona was far more focused on the social side of things, which was certainly a surprise given her quiet nature. He supposed it was natural though, in a way. If she set up all the social events, then she would be far too busy with the planning and execution to actually participate in them. Really, it was a rather smart way to do things, at least in Michael's opinion. Although, whenever the bobcat set up his own events, he wasn't doing them just so that he could stay to the side. He always had a tendency to thrive in the spotlight, even when he only had one companion in the world. That desire for attention and the social side of things had only grown over time, as he had become more comfortable within The Typhoon.

Naturally, Michael was intrigued by his fellow dealer's call for yet another game, and he wandered over before long, briefly stretching out his legs as Keona and Natyli explained the rules. It was a rather simple game, this time, but it still sounded like fun. Not only was there an element of participation, but it also meant that everyone would have a chance to learn more about each other. With a small smile on his muzzle, the thief then made his way over to the right side of the line, making himself comfortable in a seated position. A soft hum left his throat, followed by an explanation, "I really like vanilla too, but my sweet tooth just can't resist chocolate, honestly..." Part of that stemmed from his childhood, although that wasn't something he was about to divulge during a silly little game like this. It went without saying, though, that you grew rather fond of chocolate and other sweets, when you were constantly deprived of them as a kit.

[div style="margin: auto; max-width: 475px; padding: 5%; min-height: 20px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 17px;"]To permit herself a breach within diminutive safety provided by the comfort the known was to invite attention, draw the eye in a manner that ignited a simmering heat deep in churning stomach. For such she must be known, shuck that she held close, the faux ideal of who she was meant to be. Cause that which distanced her from all, never permitted the walled chambers of her heart to open any further than the inconsistent welcome of an invasive presence arriving in a moment of vulnerability, shunned any gathering that may contradict anything. Easy was it, in the beginning there had been no pressure, no desire to break away from habit ingrained.

Gentle the tug, a curiosity that swirling about slow thoughts, settled there like stones upon the embankment of a river. There it may linger with tantalising pressure, almost forgotten herself in the glee of a smile sweeping along her lips.

Natyli knew her as few others did. Difficult to reject the infectious mirth that seemed her eternal company, light in a joviality that belied her insistent drive to seek purpose, her opposite in many ways. Soothing such notion, that she may be known and in turn know another, the familial connection running beneath enough to quell trivial worries. Closer did Eulia step, though caged her tongue by teeth that ground against the tip as instructions were spoken for the few in attendance. Gauging which side gestured to was somewhat difficult, the world reduced to shifting smears of multiple hues mixing into one until distinguishing silhouettes all she may do did not permit her to view the line.

"I don't mind either…" Reasoning fell as she looked to both prior participants, Salem and Michael differing only in size, but even such offered little in way of information to determine who was who, finally drawn towards Nat. Close did she draw, briefly forgotten her inhibitions as she lightly bit at the edge of Natyli's ear, a playful action without any true sting or intent behind.

'This Or That', huh? That was a game she never heard of and that was excited if she was honest. At Keona's call, the kitten made her way over and listened to the instructions. "Ooooh, I like vanilla more." She started as she moved over to the left.[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Re: always a good time [★] game night: this or that - ROXANNE R. - 01-15-2021

It was nice to see Keona and Natyli working together to make fun activites for everyone, a soft sigh would slowly leave her maw as her slow, tired steps would bring her to Michael's side did she take a seat both ears perked forward and she sat there attentively listening to the instructions of the game. She watched through half closed eyes unable to hold back a snort as everyone began to say that they preferred vanilla or chocolate, personally, Roxanne enjoyed strawberry a lot more than those two flavors but she would not break the statement or game rules seeing as this was the first time that she would be playing "Chocolate is too addicting not to love," With that said, her fluffy tail would wrap around her paws neatly and she took a deep breath wondering how the rest of the game would progress. Her eyes shifting over to see that there was some snacks and drinks like the last time but she didn't seem to have any intentions of scarfing any of it down at the given moment.
