MAGIC AMERICA -- o, return - charrie graveyard - 12-21-2020

There wasn't really good excuse for his disappearance. He had simply been busy, having taken up a side hobby doing some little killing jobs here and there, travelling around... that kind of thing. There was also the obvious change in Kuragori's appearance, his peacock form now replaced with a rather large owl griffin body. First of all, he had had no idea that he could shapeshift. When it first happened, Kura had been in a fight with a bear, something that was extremely foolish considering his original body was no predator and definitely not built for a battle against such a large opponent. This is what he believed to have triggered this change inside him, a new form emerging to protect himself from further harm.

He wasn't complaining. It was a drastic change, but like his birth body, this one was just as, if not, more attractive than before. Not only that, but fights against larger opponents would be a lot easier now. Landing in camp with a soft thump as his paws hit the ground, Kuragori would sit down, tail curling around his paws. "I have returned. Apologies for my absence... but that aside, what have I missed? Have we taken control of those filthy pirates yet?" The owl griffin would say with a dark chuckle, a smirk on his face and a glint in his crimson eyes.

BURN
BRIGHT
“Kuragori? Is that you?” Ninazu squinted her glowing gold eyes. It’d been a while since she’d heard the voice, but she recognized him all the same, even if this wasn’t the same body she’d last seen him in. “I’m glad you were alright… we were worried. But this form suits you.”

The lioness walked over, sat in front of the owl-griffin, and huffed into her paw. “It’s been madness since you left. Tanglewoods, Typhoon, and Elysium… all were under our control, for a time, and now there’s rebellion in all but the mountain one. But they’re practically dead, anyway, their forces scattered to the wind. You’ve come back at quite a time.” She didn’t intend to sound as glum as she did, but there was no masking the direness of the situation; her green fire mane exploded as she huffed, once more, into her paw.

“You likely had more fun than I in your travels. But. No matter. I’m glad you’re back and not someone’s snack.”

At the sound of Ninazu's voice, he would dip his head, ears swiveling forwards. "I'm glad to see you again as well, Ninazu. I feel like I didn't contribute nearly enough to be missed but I am flattered anyways." The griffin would tease with a smile on his beak.

As she explained about the clans, his upbeat expression quickly faded into concern, imaginary brows furrrowing. "Hmm... well that's certainly not something I wanted to hear... I'm sorry I wasn't here to help, truly." Kuragori would say, disappointment in his tone. "I know it may not be very reassuring now, but I know we'll come back from this. Especially now that you have me around once again, right?" He laughed, attempting to lighten the mood. "I'm just kidding. What I said before that though, is true. I'll bet with those takeovers, we'll have rogues and those who may be questioning their loyalty coming to join us any day now." The griffin said with confidence, peacock tail flicking and then fanning out behind him as he spoke.

"Just a little bit of unfinished business to take care off, nothing especially exciting, but a change of scenery is always interesting I suppose." Kura would explain as he stood up, stretching in a cat-like manner. "Thank you Ninazu. As always, it's a pleasure to speak with you."
