DID YOU SEE THEM GOING OFF TO FIGHT? CHILDREN OF THE BARRICADE WHO DIDN'T LAST THE NIGHT. DID YOU SEE THEM LYING WHERE THEY DIED? —
Deserts were familiar to Tobi, but so were vast canyons and bamboo forests, and even mountains, for during his childhood he had been little more than a traveler; he stayed where he wanted when he wanted to, occasionally even within other groups' borders (he had, once, even met his grandfather; a big, blind, horned wolf that had seemed, at the time, as if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders).

But the desert he knew most of all. Perhaps not this particular desert, the scent was much too different (in fact, the only time he had come across a familiar scent had been passing by the mountains, which if he were to recall had been where he had met his grandfather), but they couldn't be too different.

Tobi had no wish to return to the Derelict Burgh. Last he had been there, the Weeping Woman had stepped out of the leader position and handed it to his uncle, Elias. As much as he tolerated his uncle and his uncle tolerated him in return, he wouldn't stick around for his rule. After that decision he had quickly left after notifying the second-in-command, Evelyn, and had been wandering ever since, his only belonging being the pink bow around his neck.

Though he figured if he were to join anywhere it would be a place similar to his last home, something he had already adapted to well. Which is, of course, how he finds himself lounging slightly within the borders of The Pitt, his tail flicking slowly as he watches a beetle scuttle across the ground before him.

The border itself had been a laughable sight. It had reminded him very much of the corpse border back at the Burgh, only this one was made of heads on spikes. Safe to say that it had not deterred him in the least; in fact, it might have sealed his decision to stay. Now all he needs is for someone to find him.

Re: someone used to cradle them | joining - Kold - 12-04-2020

The world had not been kind to the acolyte when she first arrived at the Pitt's border. In fact, the world seemed to laugh at her as her father left the child alone. But there was little the child could do aside from wander further in. That's how they managed into the Pitt. There, they made friends. Family. Then it was torn from them. Their body changed, a new being came to be. Now, things were slowly winding down, it seemed. Kold was back in their body.

Awkward legs moved in slow movements, similar to a young child. Words became stuttered and cut, rearranged in odd, quiet voice. If they pushed themselves, they could speak regularly and walk normally. But energy. Sweet, precious energy.

Walking the desert became habit. It cleared their mind, and at night they knew no cold. As the acolyte wandered and stumbled, they spotted Tobi at the borders. Memories appeared, hate filled her body and warmed it gently. Slowly, they walked toward Tobi, getting close enough to speak in a quiet, distant voice, "You are at the Pitt. You.. you are unfa.. familiar to us.. ou.. our name is.. is Kold."

The petite deer-fox knew the desert.  Knew it well.  Yet her hooves dragged in the sand now, hazel hues distant as she wandered.  Her satchel hung on her side, a few fresh herbs sitting within.  Aloe.  Sage.  She flicked her ears when she spotted a dark-furred figure on the border.  Another stranger.

The influx should be nice, she knew.  Her father approved seeing the Pitt grow.  The Fleshweaver... Knew it was nice.  And she would do her work.  Best she could.  Almost robotically.  Only seeming to perk up a little, when she looked to Kold.  Whatever happened to the pup... It was still effecting her but... At least she was Kold again.  It was something, when she felt like she lost nearly everything.

The fae shuffled her wings.  "'m-'m Aine... Can-can we help you?"
