disco inferno - [HYPNOTIZATION] - Atticus Roux - 11-29-2020

Darkness.

The boy's eyes opened hesitantly. Dried tears lined his cheeks as wide pupils stared out into the abyss. He attempted to raise a paw forward, but the ground wrapped around his feet and kept him place. Atticus' gaze bolted downwards. He frantically attempted to escape, jolting to and from with no luck. No matter how much he pulled away, the rocks below kept him in place. Tears began to bellow in his sockets. Frustrated, he threw himself forward one last time, only to fail and have pain shoot up his chest. A defeated cry left him.

Through a blurred gaze, yellow eyes caught on a glint of green staring at him from the corner. The feline blinked through his tears, trying to zero in on the figure, only to let out a squeal upon realization. "P-please no," he yowled. "Leave me be." Flickers of Moth and his siblings flashed throughout his mind, but another figure appeared. Sweeney. His jaw clasped shut. Teeth gritted together in frustration as the realization settled in, but his flame wasn't snuffed out just yet.

Like before, he began to struggle. His sporadic movements did no good, but he continued on. He threw himself forward, bared teeth glinting in the moonlight. Perhaps there was a chance of escape if he could bargain. "You're never going to succeed, you know," Atticus piped up amidst his scuffle. He snapped his canines towards the lion, threatening him to get closer, despite knowing he had a disadvantage. The cat's courage always got the best of him. "Not without help." His ears pinned to the back of his head. Eyes locked with Stryker's own, watching at the lion's tongue flickered out in a mocking manner.

The Pittian leaned forward. "I can tell you whatever you want." He didn't know what that information was, but any chance for his escape was a valuable one. If it had been a few months earlier, he would have given up by now... Not today though.

From the shadows, Stryker leaned forward. The lion crept forward towards the feline with a smirk appearing on his face. His gaze locked with Atticus' own. He towered over the feline, causing Atticus to cower backwards but continue to hold his eyes in place. The Kingpin leaned down close. "Oh, but you can help me," he enthused slyly. His paw lightly pressed upon the cat's chin, raising his head up to look up at his.

Atticus hissed in dismissal, but he couldn't pull away from Stryker's touch. He tried to move, but he... couldn't. The feline tried to move with all his might. Nothing. With every attempt, there was no result. Wide eyes stared up at the Kingpin, fearful. What was happening? 'PLEASE,' his thoughts screamed. 'MOVE!' Atticus tried to scream. Shout. Holler... but why wasn't it working? The green gaze interlocked with Atticus' widened with a mischievous glint in their peripheral. Stryker's smirk widened.

Rather than the voices of his own egging him on, a new tone came about. The male's thoughts fell silent. Only one voice dominated his mind. 'Atticus,' the calm murmur said. 'You have nothing to fear.' He doubted that, but the soft voice sounded... trustworthy? He tried to speak out in his thoughts, but the voice shushed him. 'Let the pain fade and fall asleep, son. I've got you.' Doubt filled his head. This felt wrong. Something wasn't right. They needed him. Moth, Sweeney, Gael, Aurum. Tanglewood needed him. For a moment, he managed to move forward to snap at the lion's snout, but slowly managed to freeze up again.

As Stryker's mental manipulation drove deeper into the boy's mind, the Pittian's eyes began to roll back into his head, struggling to stay conscious. He gasped desperately for air and Stryker cackled audibly at his struggle. Atticus wavered in his spot. The ground below him released his paws and he stumbled to the floor. With a thump, pain shot through his ribs and the boy let out a final cry for help. 'Quiet.' The voice roared. Stryker's demonic call echoed through his mind. Atticus kept shivering. His family... His family required his help. He couldn't give up now... Unless?

Hearing the Pittian's plea, Stryker let out one last order. 'They will be safe.' Despite not believing the lion's deception, the manipulation grasped at his thoughts and he was convinced. Atticus' tearful gaze closed. His muscles loosened and his teeth went back to their neutral position. Steady breaths returned. He sunk into the floor with his head pressed against the cold floor. Finally calm, he slipped into unconsciousness.

As Atticus faded off, Stryker pulled his gaze away and watched as he faded off. With the boy entangled in his mental grasp, the Pittian would reveal vital information and prove to be a useful soldier in their future endeavors. Satisfied, the lion disappeared into the shadows. The feline would awake soon within Tanglewood with his clanmates unsuspecting of his hypnosis until later on.
