The quiet settled like a blanket. Heavy as lead. The petite wildcat didn't like it. She had to move. Do. It didn't matter too much what, as she trotted out of the small house she called home. Thoughts on a patrol, if nothing else.
As she stepped into the fields, she saw the first flakes drift past. Abruptly halting, Tena rose her head. As November neared its end, winter would soon blow in full force. The desert cat flicked her torn ear, blinking as a snowflake nearly landed on her nose.
Quietly, she sat, watching the gentle snowfall. Even though she escaped the desert years ago now, the Demdji found herself fascinated by the simple weather.
