It had been some time since Raymond escaped the depths of his home within Tanglewood and interacted with anyone. With Leroy's reign falling through and the disappearance of many, the panther's presence almost felt lackluster and he felt unmotivated to interact otherwise. There was no opportunity for him to swoop in for power either. So why bother? As always, the grumpy feline wanted to truly cater to himself, even if it cost others. He would go the length for any lick of might or strength that came his way. The desperate facade of consideration was beginning to fade.

On this dearest day though, the fall sun was beginning to fade and the brisk breeze of winter was coming in. Raymond grumbled to himself, shivering momentarily before rolling over and pushing away from his den. Heavy paws tracked through the swamp later. Green eyes swooped through the territory, only to notice a silhouette in the distance. The charcoal cheetah spoke, promptly noting their intentions straight away. Internally, he praised her. Having to do another 'Name and business?' introduction to a joiner would have killed him.

His path redirected seconds later. The male came to a slow halt upon approaching and his green hues slowly observed her with interest. A small smirk met his lips. How interesting. Their pelt was an interesting shade he'd never seen before on a cheetah. More so, their piercing was rather admirable. Raymond determined this stranger to be quite the fine feline. "Hello, darling," came his greeting. "I don't think we'll have any issues with you joining, truly." That was up to their new leader though. He didn't know Vigenere's policies all that well, but if this was similar to Tanglewood's old reigns, they'd have no issue.

His head swiveled to look behind him, only to return moments later. So far, no one else. "What's your name though?" the panther finally pressed. Well, looks like he had to do one part of the usual 'name and business' routine, but this time it was more of a pleasure rather than a courtesy.

The leader of Tanglewood was certainly an eyesore compared to Raymond, and he seemed to have appeared around the same time that the panther thought of him - although that was just a mere coincidence. Joiners were sparse lately, but that didn't stop the savannah from wanting to be among the first to greet others, so whenever he heard someone call out, Vigenere abandoned his hunt to quickly come and greet them. Raymond seemed to be just a tad quicker than him though.

The way Elsweyr spoke was strange, though Vigenere certainly wasn't one to judge. "Hey there, Elysweyr. Welcome to Tanglewood." He confirmed that she was allowed to join; not that he really had a reason to deny her, of course. There really has only been one person that Tanglewood has refused during the time Vigenere was here, and that was his own brother. For good reason, of course; Caesar would have absolutely harmed his clanmates if he stayed here. Things would not be as peaceful as they were now, that's for sure. "My name is Vigenere Cipher, I'm the Luminary here. The leader, basically." He liked to clarify that position; it never hurt, did it?[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]
