Bastille was pretty sure that Starry was either punishing him somehow, or simply had a truly fucked up sense of humor. Seriously. Look, everyone knew that Bast had little control over his new elementals; they had already crowned Roy as the fireman, for gods' sake -- was this really necessary? And beyond that, if Bast knew how to put other the fires, wouldn't he have done it without Roy's help by now? He supposed fire safety was a little different than fire killing, but still. He was definitely the wrong person for the task.

Nevertheless, here he was, standing in the center of the Circle for a moment before he yelled, "Fire safety training at the Starpool! We'll walk over in a few minutes, and any late comers can catch up and shit." On the bright side, he hadn't had a serious accident in a few days; on the down side, he was pretty sure that these flames might trigger a new one.

Fire safety training? How interesting. And helpful in case another fire ever happened again. The female had walked over to her apprentice and sat next to him after he announced what he was up to.

Bast was... holding a fire safety class?

Margaery couldn't hide the perplexed look that touched her chocolate features as she wandered closer, metaphorical brows furrowed. Did she genuinely hear that right? The person that kept setting things on fire was tasked with ensuring that the members of the Ascendants knew how to conduct themselves in the event of a fire? She almost chuckled to herself, now more so amused by the irony of the situation. [color=#b14767]"I suppose I'll participate- perhaps it'll prevent any of my future gardens from succumbing to ash and flame," The Observer extended casually, taking a seat near Lunafreya.

Re: ICARUS IS FLYING TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN | open + task - Roy Mustang - 05-13-2018

Roy honestly found this to be quite amusing- Bastillepaw, the one who managed to start a fire not once, but twice this week, was assigned a fire safety lesson as his task. Hopefully Bastillepaw would learn something out of this, maybe the young apprentice will try to be more careful with his powers in the future. The melanistic bobcat padded in, entering shortly after Margaery, ears pricking up at the comments made by the vampire. "Hopefully this lesson will also prevent any further accidents that requires my assistance," The flame alchemist said with a confident tone, that familiar smirk well on his features. It was like he was talking to Fullmetal all over again!

Bastille nodded to Luna in greeting, and forced himself not to read too much into Margy's comment. He was pretty sure she wasn't holding it against him, at least not that much, but he couldn't help the brief flare of guilt. Even if he did try to apologize to her eventually, he was pretty sure she was always going to remember. He was, at least. There was no forgetting the downright betrayed look in her eyes.

He shook it off with a smirk of amusement, instead focusing on rolling his eyes at Roy. "Yeah, yeah, we get it -- Bastille sets everything on fire, blah blah. Starry wants to make sure I don't burn the Observatory to the ground, so let's get moving." Evidently he'd decided to he was finished waiting for people to walk with them, and set off; the rest could catch up and join them at the Starpool, for all he cared.

Once there, he took a moment to figure out how the hell he was going to actually perform this fire safety lesson. Fuck if he knew how to put his own fires out by will; he supposed that was what the water was for, or possibly the sand at their paws. Eh. He'd let them come up with the ideas -- Socratic methods, and shit. Sounded perfect.

With that settled, Bastille let a burst of flames spring up in the grass a few paces from his paws. It was small and relatively tame -- thankfully his powers had listened somewhat, evidently not spreading too far for the time being. Maybe. "Alright. There's our fire. What's the best method of survival?" A pause, and a pointed look at Margy. [b]"I'm just going to rule out running at the fire from the get go, because we don't need lung poisoning."

[font=trebuchet ms]Fire safety- now that was something she could use more familiarity with. Given that the observatory was largely constructed of metal, she doubted the structure could actually catch fire and burn down, but the grass on the fields was flammable, and there were probably other fire hazards scattered throughout the camp and territory. There was no harm in learning what to do in such a situation.

As she approached, Rin eyed the fire cautiously. The flame was small, and Bast and several others were watching it, but it could easily spread if they looked away for too long. As for the best method of survival... well, the fire produced smoke (which could be dangerous if inhaled), and smoke rose into the air by nature, so lying low would logically allow one to steer clear of it. "Put as much distance between yourself and the fire as possible, then get down to avoid the smoke," she suggested, tugging at her scarf.

Hazel was late to join, but managed to hear Bastille's question. "Shouldn't you put it out, first?" She asked curiously, casting a sideways glance at Rin. The female's response was valid and understandable, but... "Since, if you left it burning, it would just spread, creating more smoke and making a big problem bigger?" Hazel didn't sit as she gave her answer, as she was keeping an eye on the fire. She wasn't scared of it, but she didn't enjoy its properties too much, either.
